I also intend to replace my touch2 with go for an android Head Unit. I have an European Toyota Auris from 2014 and I find the support of smartphones and map updates downright sad. Mirrorlink suddenly stops working after PIE update, map updates are expensive and are more than a year behind.
I notice how few people complain about this. I was curious if someone already taken the step and if you like it, and if everything works: the reversing camera, android auto etc ... I have found the next Head Unit: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/WITS..._expid=71c6db31-fd7f-4938-8500-c6a56c89a5c6-0
Android head unit in Toyota Auris Hybrid 2014
Hello, I installed the same head unit in my Toyota Hybrid 2014. (also Aliexpress, model 2014, but XDA doesn't allow me to post the link)
It was plug and play, with a lot of leftover cables/connectors: you can add dash cams etc. afterwards.
I got everything to work, except from the voice command/voice dialing steering wheel button. I send a message to the seller about the problem, and they prepared a new cable for me, which is now on the way from China to the Netherlands. I can give you an update on the subject after I have installed the new cable.
The head set itself is great and works very good. OEM rear camera works great, car functions show in display, and radio shows nice in the dashboard. Also steering wheel buttons work(if they don't work correctly, you can assign functions to the steering wheel buttons through an app within the head unit).
Keep me informed about your progress! Regards, Gert-Jan Bosch

Very good! Thanks for the info. In the mean time I took another direction;

I have a Samsung so smartview is working perfect.
One question though, is android auto working with your gear and do you have the exact head set as I linked?

Hey...
How about the battery monitor you have with Toyota radio,
Do you still have the option to see this with the android headunit?

Android auto is not supported: it has Android Auto pre-installed, but it doesn't work: the buttons on the screen do not activate the corresponding buttons on Android auto on my telephone(they don't cooperate)
The head set is not "Play store protected", so automatic updates also don't work. By installing a new version of Android Auto it says that the device is not compatible for that version.
I would NOT recommend this head set to anybody. It has a nice sound, you can indeed install another route-planner, but you cannot use voice commands and Android Auto, which I find essential.
The cable which was promised to be send by Aliexpress shop "Big Screen GPS Factory Store" (in order to make voice command working)never arrived, and complaints are not answered... and since today it says they cannot receive messages from me..
In other words, I am blocked: NO GARANTEE whatsoever.

That's a bummer! It is a little bit too expensive to find out what headset is suitable with try and error. Maybe in the meantime time you find another solution. I can recommend mine; it just uses the video input of the original headset.

Hi guys. I have a civic (canbus steering wheel) and I cant make my joying 2 dim work properly. Has anybody managed that? I am using a aswc-1. Thanks
I had this issue, with my HotAudio unit - also drive a Civic. I I tried for a good few hours but couldn't make the ASWC work.
So instead I tapped directly to the controls (which are resistive) and wired it up to Key 1 and Key 2. Both Bluetooth and Audio Controls Works Great.
Just to clarify, you did not use the aswc?

This is right under the steering wheel. As an FYI, you do not need to remove the steering wheel to do this.
Thanks. I will give it a try.

Its literally where the steering wheel connects with the car (the area where the steering wheel pivots).
You need to remove the black plastic cover... It separates in half after removing two screws - you will need to position the steering wheel to remove the two screws.
You may need to remove parts of the dash to complete this operation.
Thank you. It worked!!!
This may be a dumb question, but I've never connected a swc. I have a Joying double din Android unit that I will be removing from my fiance's Mitsubishi and putting in my 2013 Honda civic lx. Which wire connects to key 1, and which wire to key 2 (blue or pink)
https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pr...32699671881.html?spm=2114.12010612.0.0.KbDCzA
The UI and other specs are very similar to the HotAudio test preview (thread here). Has anyone had a chance to get their hands on one of these yet? I'm deciding between this or a Joying unit.
Any input is appreciated!
PX3 RK3188 Android 7.1.1 DVD VW GPS 2G ram
Just received and installed this Head unit in my vw touran 2004.
It looks like the specifications are the same : https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/Pure...32582906631.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.UFTkAD
The unit is a Bonroad C1120801A4/A5 (RK3188 Android 7.1.1 Lecteur DVD de Voiture pour Octavia Fabia Praktik EOS GPS Navigation Avec 1024*600 HD 8 "
So far, i'm satisfied with the unit :
- Radio is now working and stable .RDS works fine (with the last DCMU update). (You need to put a double fakkra antenna plug to get the radio stable on vw cars)
- GPS IGo is fine but not in French, Waze great
- canbus is functional
- Wifi rear camera ok
- BT external micro (mono) installed, i need to shout/YELL (it is an issue...)
When calling, both mic works (front mic and ext. roof mic)
google voice research unusable
I'm waiting for documentation from the supplier as there were no instructions in the box.
Do not hesitate, if you need more informations, pictures and tests. :good:
I tried Kingo root but it failed.
I also bought a car radio on aliexpress similar to yours. Px3 cortex a9 for ford focus c-max.
I have exactly the same worries as you with the microphone, the one integrated in the facade I have to stick my mouth on and scream.
The one who plugs externally is the same thing.
Many people talk about a worry with frequencies that are not the same in china and here
300-3400 for china
50-7400 for others
If you can root your device you can change the frequencies with Pimp my rom.
Personally I can not root it.
Thanks for the feedback. What's the boot time on this thing? Does it have a sleep function similar to Joying units?

About 15 to 20 seconds to boot. For sleep functions, I have nightlight or 15s 30s 1mns ect ...
I've the same unit but it doesn't detect OBDII adapter. Any solution?
After trying everything to get the microphone that works for the handsfree kit, I decided to cut the 4th leg of the bluetooth module and solder a mono microphone directly on it. This was my last option because I did not have the c32 connector. This has been a success. People hear me very well now.
I have ordered this one - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4-C...32691433062.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.MbBrvn. Waiting for the the item to arrive. The seller would ship it on 17 July 2017 (Monday).

Can you try the following and see if this gives you root access:
Goto factory settings and instead of typing 126 type *#hct#root#
This may give you temporary root access. Now you can install supersu or magisk to make the root permanent.
Note: I don't have this device or have not used any other Android HU; so I have not tried the steps mentioned above. I found this on the internet. Please try and let us know the result.

Hello, I bought this unit, but the 9-inch model without buttons and I do not use the search for voice, the free hands works perfectly for me, but for voice searches they do not work with the internal or external microphone.
Nor can I get programs with self-starting like the Radardroid service start only with the start of the radio, I have to manually activate it at each radio start.
I also have no rear camera, only parking sensors, and every time I put the reverse gear turns off the screen and the voice of the radio to try to connect to the back camera even if I do not have it, this did not happen with my previous radio with android 4.4, only with this new one with android 7.1.2.

Well you're right, if I have the auto sleep option enabled, but programs like Radardroid can not start automatically with the radio, I always have to start them manually.
Hi everyone!
I have a similar unit.
I think that the problem is with android version. In our case 7.1.1.
I had a problem with my OBDII reader and I updated my unit to 7.1.2 and fix it
Now with 7.1.2 I have the same problem with microphone and also I have a problem with USB cameras. Only the DVR app can connect with but only the first time. If I close the DVR app and open it again, camera dont work.
I want to use the USB front camera with Mapillary and iOnRoad but I cant.
Any idea?
Where can I donwload a previos android version? for example 5.1.1 or 6 perhaps its would fix the problems.
Thanks!
I've had a Hizpo 7" no dvd with buttons mcu xrc 2.54 android 7.1.2 2gb 16gb for a week. Came this way so I can't say about previous versions.
My bluetooth microphones (both) work fine for me, calls hear me fine. Even just the internal mic seems good.
I haven't had any bluetooth connection problems.
Android does not see any microphone, there is no speech input in keyboard settings, google voice search hears nothing. Voice recorder apps hear nothing.
Tried a usb mic but that did nothing.
Can't get usb camera to work for DVR. RCA CVI cam works in DVR but doesn't record, does not work in FCAM app however, though rear does.
OBDII worked fine when I first tried it, haven't messed with it since.
Display clear and good.
Haven't seen any bog, even when running nav, audio, video etc.
Audio is so so, lots of noise. Radio reception seems great and RDS works too. Needs an amp.
Wifi reception is great, just a little antenna on the back.
I really like it but for the lack of voice search. It's really fast, I have a load of apps and still tons of space. Runs everything so far.
Nearly instant on, radio is playing in under 2 sec (probably 1).
GPS works good so far, finds my location in maybe 10 sec or less usually. I haven't been thru Pittsburgh yet to say how well it keep its signal.
I just got MTCtools and dialer and will start messing with them tomorrow, hopefully I can get a mic input to android and get voice working, then this will be really great!

Get the Intel. Faster than the px3 or px5 units. Plus the custom roms support the USB dac.
So rom and customization are now good on the intel models? Looks like their prices were bumped on the euro site compared to what they cost before. Whats the latest intel unit then. They all seem 2gb ram only still

2gb ram is plenty on the units, I haven't come across a need for more, even with tons of apps.
I've just discovered XSofiaTweaker for Xposed works on the Joying PX5, solves a lot of problems.
I really like them, the custom audio apps(Radio, etc) respect audio focus, unlike my experience with the MTC units. Going from Spotify to Radio and vise-versa, works as it should with no back end tweaking.
My Joying PX5 is turning out to be a pretty good, sub $300, deal.

unmute ch 4 works
ACC_ON/OFF works. (Thank you)

Root info here. Had to use Kingoroot Windows method. Looking foward to finding a method that sticks after reboot(rare issue on these deep sleep units) and a method that doesn't need the cloud.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75869637&postcount=6
Then installed with XposedInstaller_3.1.1.apk, HU then went through a very long reboot. Had to re-root whenever necessary, don't remember details or if it was needed. Though, no issues with Xposed.

I'm pretty sure I found it in a MTCD thread, when I wrongly thought I had a MTCD unit.

Your Google drive link doesn't work. Can you share the apk in some other way?
I think the only way for you is the reset hole. Reset the unit 3x and it will go into recovery mode. But that has no use on a standard Joying ROM as the recovery image doesn't have a menu or so. It only works on a Joying firmware usb-key/SD-card.

Nice to hear that the XSofiaTweaker in general works fine.
The NoKill behavior is strange. The hooks in the modules are the same and I just downloaded the ROM for your unit. The Sofia-1-C9-Server.apk (Sofia) is identical to 000000000_com.syu.ms.apk (PX5 Rom).
The "public static void killAppWhenSleep()" is identical as well.

I use Google translate, but I am not brave enough to flash any of the ROMs from there.
I have the same unit I'm my Camry.
I have the same one, bricked it flashing boot.img patched by magisk. Supposedly magisk patched boot.img has to be flashed into 'recovery partition', not 'boot' partition. I have made more or less full backup of the unit but do not know how to enter recovery mode using buttons or shorting wires.

I have a Hizpo Android10 head unit with the same MCU version (I think, first letters are same: S32F0). Also interested in if there are updates available and how the h**l you can acivate recovery mode with button presses.

Hoping as time passes more will get these HU's and eventually root and cook a ROM for them.
Mine has a number of issues,
1) The OEM reverse camera only works for 3 seconds when selecting reverse then it switches off
2) The basic DSP works but the more advanced DSP doesn't
3) GPS is very inaccurate
4) No RDS
5) Volume and radio channels change by themselves
6) Car settings don't work
7) Open doors indicator is switched around, left door open shows right door on HU.

Thanks, I had seen that but the first post says (translated):
"There is essentially no information about it, there are no modified firmware either., The firmware in the header was sent by the seller and was not checked for operability, it is up to you to sew or not.
There were no known attempts to get root on the device."
so it doesn't seem much has been done

I see, but differents users who had gps/clock/rds problems solved it flashing the only mcu called rdsfix file. You can give it a try....
Here is the rom sent by seller yesterday, link available for 4 days.
Android 10 PX
HIZPO PX5C_C01_HA6_11211237
The gps works well.
No GPS navigator in the rom.

I have an really odd problem with my HU, the reverse camera view goes off as soon as one starts moving and comes back on when stopped again. I fixed most of the other issues I had but this one still persists.
It's an Android 9 HU in a Ford Ranger PXII/T6.
Any ideas?
I had the same issue it turn out the video cable going from the headunit to the camera was bad

I have a Hizpo Android "10" Headunit (Advertising claims Android 10, but the unit actually runs Android 9). This model is specifically designed for BMW E90 Series cars, but I'm sure the chipset and software is the same across their devices. (Part: AD8CHKSOI2I08772)
Specs are the Cortex A53 Octa-core and 4GB Samsung DDR3.
Here is the Build number information from inside Android settings:
ANDROID: 213328
MCU: S32F0_XinRC-18_20199820_HA1_6686_D_FF_C8
APP: PX5_C54_HA1_XRC_EN2019-09-02-2008
The password for the factory settings on my unit is "0000".
Inside here there are a couple useful features such as:
1. Mute Radio on system startup
2. Reverse Doors for Car Overlay Feature
3. Change Boot Splash Screen
I am hoping to root this device so I can hide the Android navigation bar and convert over to gesture controls only, enable USB data tethering with my iPhone, and disable some system services/apps as the device can be laggy at times, unacceptable behavior with 8 cores and 4GB RAM, especially in mid 2020!
But overall I am happy with the device.
Bought my new head unit for Jeep Grand Cherokee from Erisin.
It is the new model ES8176J, PX5 Octa Core with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.
I was supposing that it was a MTCx but it seems that the MCU is the S32F0 one.
Do you know where I can find updates, modded ROM, root, etc?
I have a Zltoopai unit for a BMW e82. Think pretty much the same as jahjah440.
ANDROID: 145358
MCU: S32F0_XinRC-18_20200527_HD1_7708_D_FF_DSP_C8
APP: PX5_C54_HA1_Xrc2_EN2020-06-05-1728
I'm running it with a Carlinkit carplay dongle which works great. It just doesn't allow me to run radio in the background. I'd like to be able to set the carlinkit app as navigation app so it won't mute the radio. I can't do that now.
Want to get rid of the stock launcher because the unit keeps asking me to chose between that and Agama...
If it can do that it's perfect. Now it's pretty good.
Hello colleagues ... I have bought a Boison Android 10.0 PX6 unit for my Mercedes Vito Tourer 114cdi vehicle ... and the buttons on the steering wheel do not work ... etc ... I want to change the cambus protocol on this Android 10 unit ... is it possible?

I have tried it ... but he does not recognize them when I press it
I have the exact same problem. Tried installing it today, Same head unit, in a 2012 Vito. With exactly the same problem. The cambus is not recognised by the unit or the vehicle.... I used the harness supplied with the bosion specifically for the vito but noticed on the original headunit there is 2x 12 pins (male) but the provided harness does not have these pins. (New here so unsure how to post photos)
Fixed....
Just an update, incase this pops up again.
I got in touch with the retailer who sent me a small video of a hidden settings option.
Inside there you have to change the "can version" mine was set to 0 without any settings preset.
The video is hosted on Dropbox showing how to set it correctly, here:
......
Appreciate it looks a bit suspect but it is a genuine instructional clip.
Edit......
Ok that didn't work, haha.
I will send the clip to a forum admin and they can add it to the topic
how is this unit?
Hi guys I am looking at purchasing this unit, the Price seems cheap for what it looks like you get... I see you found a work around for the canbus issue, are there any other flaws you have found? Can you replace the factory launcher with Nova launch or others? Does it have full access to the real google play store? Any lag or performance issues? Did it provide any noticeable audio improvement, is it 4x50 watt? any info or reviews would be GREATLY appreciated.
Honestly buddy.
It was bought for my work van.
Sound quality ain't all that good, however, this could be poor speakers.
I think it has full play store?
I've not actually checked everything but if I sign into my account, it shows all my apps in the library ready to install.
I can't comment on replacing the launcher.
It is not something I need to do as I am literally in the van for short amounts of time each day.
I have not had any lagging issues but again, it is not in use a great deal.
However the display is all fuzzy when mirroring my phone.
Boots up in around 10 seconds.
Google maps voice is an American female. I am in UK.
Possibly able to change that in the app though.
Essentially, I was looking for a Bluetooth headunit that had navigation capabilities and this does both faultlessly. Although it is better with an external mic.
Will be wiring in the reverse camera at the weekend. (And dash cam, if it arrives in time)
For the price I don't think you can go far wrong.
I asked a administrator to add the video but they don't want to for some reason?
Said I should post the link using spaces. I will do that at some point tomorrow. (I am currently posting through my phone and the link is saved on my laptop).

See here for canbus fix: remove the spaces copy it into address bar

Thanks for the feedback
Matsons, thanks for the feedback this is helpful. Like you said for the price you kind of can't go wrong, I do see some development on the STM32 MCU recently as well, so if it can be rooted, should be able to fix most of the bugs we run into. Thanks again for the feedback!
hello,
how did you get in the hidden settings option ?
i have the same problem to solve.

That's great, you found a retailer that will actually support your unit. Will they give you root?
I look forward to playing with the secret menu. I wonder if I can get a Ford to work without an interface module.
I have installed 4 of these single din px6 in different cars/rv's. For the money, I love them.
Screen is beautiful, controls are snappy.
I sure hope more development happens with them.
I also have a Bosion PX6. Does anyone have a website or email for Bosion for questions? Im not able to get canbus to work in 2010 Toyota.
Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and I am going to modernize my car by changing the old 1 din radio for an Android device, I am researching these two devices:
Joying UIS7862 Android 10 Octa Core 4Gb 64Gb
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mMUKPv7
Bosion BX-D11 Android 10 PX6 Cortex A72+A53 4Gb 64Gb
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNFYobL
Taking into account your knowledge of the subject, which of both is better in terms of performance, possibilities, better sound quality and fewer errors. I want it to be compatible with reverse camera, dvr cam, ocb, etc.
Thanks for replying and excuse my English.

Hello forum hijacker,
I suggest not replacing with a Chinese unit, unless comfortable with issues, lack of reseller support and intermittent issues.
Instead, consider a genuine, branded Android Auto unit, which the Chinese units are not.
If you decide you still want a buggy Chinese Android head unit, an MTCD/E type has alot of user base, who work on problems / mods. E.g. Dasaita/Hot audio.
Bosion is Android 9 not 10 MCU is STM32 software is buggy with Malaysk ROM its better.
