Battery life - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

What kind of battery life are you getting with your T-Mobile oneplus 6T? Thanks In advance!!!
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app

I bought a T-Mobile phone. Used stock for 15-27 minutes and then was on the international ROM. Used that for about 10 minutes before flashing the xXx script/ROM used the smurf kernel. I work ten hours a day use my phone throughout CNN,fairmail,eBay,car gurus,XDA, YouTube (vanced) etc... No gaming no movies. GPS to and from work for testing 30 minute drive. Battery 100% before work and 40-50% after got home. Standby only eats about 2-5% after 7 hours of me sleeping.

[Q] How is the battery performance?

Hi,
I'm switching from Note 1 to Nexus 4 which should arrive this week. I wonder what the battery performance is like for an average user, does it last alteast a day (10hrs plus) with moderate usage?
Also, I heard glass back issues, does it really needs to be cared for a lot?
I just switched from the note 1 also to the nexus 4. Have had this phone for almost 2 weeks now. Battery life is a lot better than the note. I'm almost always on WiFi. I'm getting about 13+ hours out of the battery. I flashed the Franco kernel and noticed a slight improvement also. Deff a lot better battery life than the note

Battery life is awesome.
I get about five hours screen on time

Right now I'm using the CM nightlities and franco r71 kernel and my battery is pretty good. It easily lasts a day, right now it has about 50% battery with about 10 hours on and 1hr 40min screen time on. I've uploaded a picture of my battery with one of the older nightlies. But some people have really good battery life and others aren't as good, it just depends if you get a lucky phone.
Battery live has been great for me. Easily over 3:30 on-screen time, sometimes 4:00, and less often I hit 4:30. At the end of the day and I usually still have some juice left. I use FrankenKernel and Trinity Four.

Battery life is subjective.

I can get at least four hours screen on time, sometimes over five, depending on other factors such as signal strength and whether I'm on WiFi or mobile networks.
Just been playing with it for the last hour and this is what it's looking like ... 84‰ battery remaining with one hour eleven minutes of screen time. Connection via mobile networks is usually more taxing though.

Stock I could go ~12hrs with moderate use and ~18hrs with light use.
With franco kernel r72, I get 2days with light usage (1.5hrs screen on, 1.5hrs call time, auto brightness, wifi on, bt on, gps on, location services on, push for gmail/plume) and a day with moderate use (same as previous with 3-4hrs of pandora streaming and 1hr of video.)
I can reach 2 hours of screen time when entirely on HSDPA or nearly 4 hours entirely on Wifi with stock kernel until the battery hits 25% mark.
With franco or harsh kernel I can reach 2 hours 30 minutes on HSDPA and 4 hours on Wifi until the battery hits 25% mark.
I send a lot of Whatsapp messages and browsing, not much phone call though. I don't measure battery life by phone up time because most of the time it's screen on time that matters.
Battery life seems great for me

Battery percentage while using the phone

Hi,
hope this question wasn't asked already, I searched for it and found nothing, anyway.
So, I'd like to know, when you're using your phone normally (browsing, texting), how many minutes does it take for 1% to drop? of course, I mean while screen is on.
I would appreciate if you also wrote which rom and kernel you're using. Also, what governor is being used, whether sync, Google now And location are on.
I'm currently using Slim + Semaphore (always switching governors), sync, GN, location and WIFI and under those conditions, 1% drops after 2-3 minutes.
Many people report hanging a great battery life, with 4-6 SOT and I just don't understand how it's possible. For comparison, I'm currently on 44% with 1 hour and 18 minutes SOT.
Please no flaming and such, I really want others to contribute to this discussion rather than hear something like "RMA your phone" and such.
Thank you.

It depends how you use your phone. I don't use facebook, i dont sync twitter or g+. I rarely use location services. The only things cause wake locks are whatsapp and hangouts for me. Then, I get 20 hours with 4 hours sot on wifi 2.5 to 3 hour on 3g. If i don't play any games i can get 5 to 6 hours sot (i don't know what can i do for 5 hours without playing games). It's not important in how many minutes 1% drain occurs. Sometimes 2% drain in 2 minutes sometimes no drain in 10 minutes. If you minimize your idle drain for your usage like get rid of unnecessary apps and greenify the apps have unnecessary notifications you can have 4 hours sot with browsing, twitter, xda, messaging and playing not heavy games.
I use latest nightlies of pa and franco all the time.

Yeah, I know, but I thought maybe something is wrong with my phone. Any other comments?
I get 6 hours of SOT when strictly web browsing. From what I have seen, this is about par for being stock. I don't use any battery saving apps.

Battery problem.

Oneplus 2, a great device with some flaws such as battery. For me, battery is not good. I get 4 hours SOT with medium usage ( WhatsApp, coc, chrome etc )
I use greenify too (without xposed). Thats the story of all ROMs. I never gone above 5 hours SOT. My highest SOT is 5 hours 2 mins on Oxyslim. But only for 1 cycle. But on all custom ROMs I only get 4-4.5 hours SOT. Can any1 suggest me some tips?
PS- does overcharging (over night) affects this device's battery life?

Hello and good evening,
if you are using a custom ROM, you can try doing this:
[GUIDE][07-02-2016]Extreme Battery Life Thread(Greenify+Amplify+Power Nap)✭
Charging over night does not improve or damage the battery.
Kind regards

The battery controller prevent overcharging, I often charge overnight, battery is still great (6 months usage)
Try tracking your wakelocks

Got my OP2 a few days ago. Have the same issues with it. (OOS2.2.1)
i have a lot of wakelocks (550 per hour) from google play services.
NlpCollectorWakelock & NlpWakelock are producing this.
i tried this from a LG G2 User:

but nothing helps..
Same happens with OOS 3.0.0 beta and CM13

Poor Battery Life on my ZTE Axon 7.

I have very poor Battery Life on my new phone. Last night I factory reset the phone and at 11pm I fully charged the phone and left it in airplane mode. This morning it reported 58% by 7am this morning.
It's much worse in daytime light usage. It's flat after about 4hours.
I have noticed that the WiFi and AWAKE history graphs in battery section show WiFi always on and phone is always awake. Even when the WiFi is switched off it is always ON according to the graph. The phone is constantly warm all the time. I have contacted the UK supplier. Awaiting response.

I had the same problem with HTC, please try:
Turn off "Scanning always available:" in Advanced Wi-Fi settings.
Gogle description: Turn on to allow apps to scan for Wi-Fi networks even when Wi-Fi is off.

I see no such option on the Axon 7.
This probably depends on phone manufacturer, try find menu or more in Wi-Fi options, most of Android 4/5 usually have this option, sorry I'm only potential buyer of A7

Sorry, ZTE Axon 7 doesn't have option "Scanning always available"(User Manual page 57), Older ZTE Axon it has (User Manual page 53).
There is an option to turn Wi-Fi off when asleep in the Wi-Fi advanced options menu. Might be worth trying.

Sounds like this is a settings issue, not zte or the phone.
This battery drain is obviously the result of a wakelock. Adjusting WiFi settings will not solve your problem.
Have you checked the 'fast battery drain apps' in power manager. Mines not liking Amazon music and the Android central app.

The wake lock issue is most likely this scenario in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=68001359
I've improved my awake stats and battery range since following the reboot after unplugging advice in that thread.
I'm still researching the always on WiFi graph under settings >battery.

Download the Battery Monitor Widget App. It can monitor everything about your battery very accurately. Even your SOT stats.
Fully charged up my UK axon 7 phone this morning. I powered it up at 7.35am it was totally flat by 12midday. I had factory reset phone and not installed any apps. I only had data switched on via sim. GPS, WiFi and low power mode on. Used it very sparingly and it went flat.

I think that is an issue, however I am still not getting the battery life reviews have been getting....
The first few reviews talked about amazing battery life with SOT of 6+ hrs on this phone but in my opinion it is worse than the OnePlus 3 I used for a few days. Yesterday I got just under 4 hrs of screen on time, taking my phone off the charger at 6:30am and plugging it in at 11pm with about 4% battery left. I am using GSAM Battery Monitor and Phone Radio is taking a solid 37% of my battery, is that normal? The phone does show it has a weaker signal than any of my last phones in all familiar locations but I haven't actually noticed a difference in internet speed (actually getting 40mb pretty regularly) or call quality/reception. Today I am at 63% battery with the phone being unplugged 10 hrs 47 min and only 1hr and 16 minutes of SOT. No apps stand out as using a lot of the battery with App Usage being at 1%.

What those 6+ hrs SOT stories don't tell you is that they gimp the phone ie turn off most if not all background processes such as: location, push emails, anything that has a hook to the web.
I mean I can always get 5+hour turning off all my smartphone services and just having my screen on to flipping around looking at locally stored stuff.
An average best for me is usually going to bed with 4+ hrs of SOT by midnight. @15% remaining and that was before the wake lock I mentioned above.

Yeah I was right at 4 hours SOT at 1am with the phone unplugged since 6:30am that morning and still 22% battery left, that is fine for me. I had everything on, including GPS, Bluetooth and Wifi

That setting is here:
Settings > Location > (menu - three dots in upper right corner) > Scanning
From here you can disable Wi-Fi Scanning and Bluetooth Scanning.
I do not know if this helps battery life though - I just now tried it myself.
Yeah I get horrible battery life too and it doesn't show any apps using alot ): , if I'm lucky I get 4hr sot

How is 4 hours horrible? 4 to 5 hours is really good battery and is a standard for any flagship device.
I don't get people that want 6 hours of screen time. Don't y'all have anything to do through the day? Spending 6 hours a day staring at a screen cant be good for anyone.

I guess I got spoiled with battery life on my old Huawei mate 8 and other phones with amazing battery.
I've been getting over 5 hours SOT pretty consistently for the past week. The battery life is way more consistent than my Nexus 6p was, and seems to last noticeably longer. I also don't worry about topping up when I get home from work if I really need to (or if I watch YouTube for 3 hours after I get home) because of how fast it charges, even if you use while charging. I'm very pleased with battery life overall.

V20 battery life, experiences?

I know its pretty early to tell but how has the battery life been on the v20? More specifically it compares to the v10? The v10 is pretty much dead by the end of the day I was hoping for an improvement this time around.
I use an extended battery for my v10 but I am hoping to avoid this with the v20 because the accuracy of the gauging of the extended battery is terrible even after calibration.
Those who have the phone please comment on how good or bad or ok the battery life is.

Very good chance you will make it to evening. Am on my second day and with moderate use of browsing, texting, emails, calls, I am lasting till evening but must connect like around now and averaging 4.5 SOT. I expected this.

Been using my lg v20 over a week now. I get a full day's use out of mine. That's average use like fb, texts, calls. YouTube video watching. The battery is better than my note 7 I will say that.

I got mine 5 days ago. I've noticed the battery gets better every day as it settled in. I lost 2% overnight last night. I'm getting 5+ hours SOT. I quit using the automatic screen brightening because it fluctuates way to much. I keep it on 50-60% brightness. I also have the second screen on all the time. It's not very bright though, so it's not using to much juice. Hope this helps.

7h SOT my first charge. Second day 5.5jh but much rough day with reception.
I get a full day out of the battery with al lot of browesing, talking, messaging, and a few games. I love it so far my z3 had good battery but sleep mode on the lg is very nice.
Hi friends,
Battery standby time is perfect for my LG v20.
But while using it, it is not sufficient.
It's just last for 2-3 hrs on complete usage.
Please suggest me some apps or ways to get rid of this.
I'm using v20 Indian version.
I haven't rooted my device.
Thanks in advance...
