One UI (Pi) for Note 7 - Will it Brick it?? - Samsung Galaxy Note FE Questions & Answers

Does anyone want to guess (or do you know?) if One UI Pi will install on an original Note 7? And not brick it, or otherwise cripple it?

[Q] I've some questions. Please help me.

Hey buddies i'm planning to buy ah high end android device next month. Currently i've 2 phones in my list
Motorola Defy
and
MILESTONE 2.
I want to use my phone for playing with roms, rooting, and lots of things that may brick it.
1. Can I use that qwerty keyboard for apps like opera mini, uc, dolphin?
2. Can I use that keyboard for playing games?
3. Do we get a touch keyboard in case we don't want to use inbuilt 1?
4. Will this phone get gingerhead?
5. Is any cyanogen mod available?
6. Do you recommend to buy this?
keeping in my mind i I don't have any motorola care centre in my area. So Defy or milestone 2?
1. Yes
2. I haven't played games with the keyboard yet
3. Yes, swype pre-installed
4. Probably not, although there is a thread in this forum with a rumour
5. There is work being done on that, but the progress is slow (sorry mike)
6. Not for the reasons you are stating. First the MM2 isn't a high end device (anymore). High end devices at the moment are: HTC sensation, Samsung Galaxy II, LG Optimus 2X, motorola Atrix, LG optimus Big.
Keep in mind these Motorola Phones are the worst choices for using custom roms because of the locked boatloader. THE PHONE IS OUT MORE THEN A HALF YEAR AND THERE IS STILL ONLY ONE CUSTOM ROM OUT. I wouldn't recommend it for the reason you stated. It would recommend it for the awesome Hardware keyboard.
If you want a device where you can root a lot and use custom roms buy a google developer phone(samsung nexus s).
If you don´t care about custom roms it´s an awesome phone.

Best Windows Phone 7 for HD2

Hi,
I was thinking of replacing an Android Sense 3.0 ROM with Windows Phone 7, is it worth it? And if it is, which Windows Phone 7 ROM is the best?
No body really knows what the best rom for you is. That is something up to you, it's to your liking.
Also, no one can tell whether android is better or wp7.
Because each operating system has its own special features.
You have to try it out and see for yourself. There is no harm in trying

[Q] Best smartphone for hacking?

Hi I was just wondering if there are any other smartphones out there that are very hackable like the htc leo(hd2) i am looking to get a phone to play with, i know the hd2 can host windows 6,7 and android but can any other do the same?
thanks in advance
Gary
I think your best bet would be a nexus device to be honest. Hackable devices ate hard to come by nowadays. Sony would also be worth looking into as they try to work closely with other developers.
Edit: For hardware hacking they should all be the same ...
I would recommend the Nexus 4, it is hard to open the hardware up but you can easily root and flash ROM's on it.
Nexus 5x w/ custom mod

[Q] Have I bought the wrong phone?

hi guys,
my samsung galaxy s2 has been giving me a lot of problems lately (signal issues and cracked screen). I couldn't afford the latest handset, so after reading up lots of reviews about google nexus 4, I bought it from ebay.
The phone is most definitely fast (Android 4.3), but many odd features to give you easy access are missing...I assume this is because it's a stock rom?
I want the theme/menus of the phone to look similar a samsung galaxy s2/s3/s4. Is there a way of doing this without flashing a totally new rom to it?
Thank you for your help
To get a full samsung experience such as in setting/laucher/etc to work you need to have samsung framework..which is a lot of work. You can try and search around the forum but I don't think anyone here bought the phone for samsung experience. The best you can do is apply touchwiz theme but that requires you to flash custom roms. For tw launcher you can try this here. Just search around and you'll definitely find something you can use.
Thank you for your quick reply arffrhn.
I don't want to flash a custom rom...at least not for a while. I think I might have described it wrong mate as I don't want touchwiz.
Let me start again....The samsung s2 that I have is running on a custom rom called neatrom....Have you heard of it? I really like it's style as it's very simple and looks cool with colours and dialpad.
But instead of putting on a custom rom, Is there a theme that I can use so that I can change the dialpad style/colour and menu looks etc?
You can try xposed framework and try out some themes. That's the best way to customize your phone without flashing any roms imo.
Try Paranoid Android or carbon custom rom; it comes with lots of tweaks and custom features.

Try a custom ROM and take your conclusions.
I've had a galaxy s2 and my Nexus 4 is better in so many ways

[Q] Just got my Note 3, few questions

Hi all,
Just got a Note 3 from swappable to finally retire my Galaxy Nexus and I have a few questions.
I'm actually okay with the stock "ROM" if you will as I've substituted the Google Now launcher for Samsung launcher.
I just want to root the device in order to enable tethering and for the ability to remove the bloat ware Verizon applications. Is this something that's possible or would I have to get a completely new ROM? For the record also I'm on 4.4.2 so I'm not even sure it's rootable.
Any ROM recommendations or anything else would also be appreciated.
Thanks!
Edit: it looks like eclipse may be the ROM I'm looking for. Any reviews would be appreciated
Eclipse ROM would be the way to go if you like the stock android look. Check out JasmineROM, I'm running it as my daily driver, it is a compete S5 port. Amazing battery and buttery smooth. Its in the development section.

If all you want to do is just get rid of bloat you can just root and use Titanium backup to get rid of it. If you wish to start using roms here's a quicklist I made to help someone which kinda gives you everything in one post....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55003142&postcount=3
