According to the coverage map I should be getting full signal bars where I live but I am lucky to get two. Are there any bands I need to disable or enable to help, and if so, what is the code to enter that programming mode from the dialer?
Thanks

Anyone?

Hello,
I have searched all over the web about how to display which GSM or UMTS bands I am connected and using at the moment (i.e. 850mhz, 1900mhz, etc), but the ibky thing I have found is to get into the phone's service menu, but every time I try, either nothing works or I receive MMI code invalid.
Is there an app that cab do this for me? I just want to know which frequency O am using in determining what other international phones can work in my area on 3g. I am on T-Mobile and I know they have been converting to the 1900mhz band for some time now, so I want to confirm for sure.
*#*#INFO#*#* does not reveal the band, and *#*#SERVICE#*#* does nothing ...
Please help.
Thank you.

Try #*#*4636*#*#

Yeah #*#*4636*#*# does nothing either. BTW 4636 is INFO on the dialer.
*#*#4636#*#* works, but that doesn't show the frequency in use.

Does anyone know how to get the MSL code? I've always used MSL Reader from the playstore, but on this phone it gives me the error in the SS.
The only real reason I need it is to change the LTE band priority. I live in an area with strong support for all 3 bands, but much better with 41->26->25. I had changed it on my M8, but when I got my 10 , I updated prl/profile which changed it back to the default priority of 25->26->41.
I'm unlocked, s-off, and running Bad Boyz.

I've never had any issues just getting the MSL from customer service.
Try this

Setting the band priority doesn't do much. It changes how the phone initially scans for an LTE connection, but once connected to LTE, the network will determine what band the phone should be on and will move you accordingly.

It makes a world of a difference when you turn off certain bands that are trash where ever you live though.

Coming from the Note 4 I could type #*0011* and see the various LTE/other network stats. Can somebody tell me how to do this in the tmo V20?

Try *#546368#*918# and go into field test and modem settings
Thank you. It didn't quite display what I was looking for but looking in LTE bands I saw band 30 and 40 but not 66. Maybe it isn't enabled out of the box... Dunno

So I just switched from my broken pixel 2 XL to my 3-g network extender, I got the 3-g one because I just wanted to be able to make calls at my house and use my Time Warner Cable for everything else so it it seemed unnecessary to pay for the 4G extender. Unfortunately this phone will not connect to my extender, any ideas? is that particular extender on a band that is not built into this phone?

If you're using verizon the 6T is an LTE only phone. It won't communicated with the 1x or 3g networks.
Those extenders were made obsolete by wifi calling. Why not use that instead of a garbage 3G connection that has to connect to your broadband internet anyway just to work?

I use a T-Mobile cellspot for sms/mms, which is always spotty on WiFi. Also I don't have to worry about a call dropping due to switching from cell to WiFi.
But I'm a certain use case. I travel for work and public WiFi sucks for WiFi calling. So I always keep it on cellular preferred.
OT: OP will have to give more details on their set up. What band is that 3g extender? Who is your provider?
It's a Verizon 3g extender and I'm using a Verizon sim.

Here is the model Samsung Network Extender SCS-2U01 Verizon Wireless SCS2U01 Signal Booster. Without it my phone only had service in some areas. I have a Verizon sim and the phone is unlocked version from OP. Are there any cheap alternatives for a Verizon customer without cell service to get it.

Do you have any thoughts on a solution? Can't really have the phone if and I can't receive phone calls in my own home. I suppose you would say a 4G extender? But the ones I see are like 300 bucks. Is there a cheaper alternative on missing for a 4 g extender that would allow me to keep this phone

Solved. Verizon sending 4g extender for free since the network won't support 6t on wifi.

Glad you got it solved. Also good tip for other users.
I know T-Mobile gives theirs out for free. ($25 deposit that instantly turns into bill credits). But it's good to see Verizon will give them out for free for users also.
