I recently reset my phone. I flashed a newer version of MM . I was dealing with a lot of phone lag, and Google play movies not working for me. Well I picked a UK version off Sammobile. The phone seems much better, of course it's a fresh flash. My question is with LTE. I had the option in network mode for LTE, and when viewing sim status on the previous version it said I was connected to an LTE network, now it says 4g? Thoughts?

Some regions have lte icon and some 4g nothing to worry about.

That I understand. The problem if there is one, under sim status the previous factory rom had me on LTE under cellular network type, with the new factory image it says 4g. I'm attaching an image of the old factory rom., which I cant seem to find on sammobile.
Anyone on Verizon and rooted loose the option for enhanced LTE I had the option before I rooted and now it's gone

On your phone dialer key in *#*#4636#*#* and it should bring up a Testing screen. Choose "Phone Information" , scroll down until you see a box about VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG. It should be on but if it's not try turning it on.
Well I unrooted and flashed stock back and it was there again so I'll probably just stay stock unrooted for now

Coming from the Note 4 I could type #*0011* and see the various LTE/other network stats. Can somebody tell me how to do this in the tmo V20?

Try *#546368#*918# and go into field test and modem settings
Thank you. It didn't quite display what I was looking for but looking in LTE bands I saw band 30 and 40 but not 66. Maybe it isn't enabled out of the box... Dunno

The app LTE Discovery can expose all this data and more without dialer codes
