Hi.
I bought my Samsung Galaxy S8 about 3 months ago and it came out of the box with these thin white lines on the bottom, top of the screen and around the speaker. (Link to pictures down below)
At first I thought it was common, but my friend's s8 doesn't have them.
I don't know if it is the screen itself or something underneath it, as it is the best visible holding it into the light.
Does anyone know how to make them disappear, and if not, will this be covered by the warranty?

Looks like dust is all i can see. If that's the case i would have it warrantied
Or dirt around the ring off the glass.
On the top picture i see faint looking bars. What reminds me of either oiliophobic coating was put on wrong. Or imperfections in the loca glue

You're right, it's difficult to tell from just pictures. But as it came like this out of the package and I already tried to get the 'dust' out, I doubt it's dust or dirt. Nevertheless I am really thankful for your reply!

Hey guys
I am aware of the Playstore app for the S4/NOTE3 lock screen effects
But is there any way to install it into /system so its more smooth and I can select it from my lock screen settings?
I am requesting for a flasheable S4 lockscreen (sunlight effect) to add on to my list of lock screen unlock effects
I like that sunlight effect, i simply didnt find the googleplay store app (as awesome as it is) to be smooth and stream lined on the phone.
I like things as stock as possible.
Thanks!
the sunlight effect is on the note by default, isn't it?

Note 3 does not have sunlight effect in its Lock screen settings. The only Unlock effects I see is
Watercolour and RIPPLE
No Sunlight =(
Any suggestions?
Should be there, next to the other two.

Scratch that. I thought that ticking that option was what was causing the sunlight effect to appear.
It's not.
Setting a Live wallpaper seems to force the sunlight option.

So today I came from work at morning and saw my parents bought sponges for cleaning which looked pretty nice lol, I unpacked them and sticked them randomly together and took picture with n5, and then I downloaded app pixlr and added effect to make it look sexy and this is how it came up, I personally use it as wallpaper of my n5 it looks badass lol. What do you think ?

@DigitalUnderground Homemade, huh?
Last image on the OP looks good.
Not sure what kind of person uses their phone out in public with a girl in their underwear on it but hey, each to their own.

No no no... Not homemade... But homemade wallpapers are not very good (see op). So why not at least put a few nice looking wallpapers in here to make people that click on this thread at least somewhat happy instead of confused like the few of us that stopped by originally [emoji3]

Tons of people... Me not included... I'm more of a landscape guy. But those are what I found when I googled sexy HD wallpaper [emoji3]
I'm not some kind of photographer. I made that out of fun and I thought they look cool
I got my note 4 day after launch and yesterday morning a bubble showed up under the glass on the left top corner of the screen At first I though it was the screen protector that had a bubble underneath but after taking the screen protector off it is actually under the glass. The bubble is about half inch long by 1/8th inch wide or so. I couldn't find any info on anyone else with this problem. I went to Tmobile and they sent a replacement phone out right away. Anyway just seeing if anyone else has had this problem. There is no damage to the glass or screen just a bubble under the glass. XDA wont let me post photos in my posts yet so once I'm over 10 posts i'll put some pictures of it up.
Looks like glue wasn't cured right. Were you able to "push" bubble out by pressing on screen or is more like cured glue separated from glass?
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
Pressing on it doesn't make the bubble go away or change shape in any way.
be good if some way we can see a picture.

There it finally allowed me to post photos.
yeah that's a strange one! Only thing I can think of is that it was there when you first bought it, but it was too small for you take notice until it got bigger!
Exchange!
This is the adhesive that fuses the LCD panel to the glass digitizer separating. Definitely a factory defect and definitely get it exchanged. This should not be happening.
Mine is separating in the same spot. Can only see it when the light it on it just right, hasn't gotten as bad as yours yet

No its not. Look at the back camera and the home sensor. It was mirrored back. I saw a front internal but its not clear. Resolution is low.

"If it was PROGRAMMED...
it CAN be RE-PROGRAMMED."
Sent from my Galaxy S8 using XDA Labs
Lol, looks nice
I have found internal pic
I have found internal picture from front side of S9 (just small difference from S8) ,
actually it's came from an article www(dot)techshout(dot)com/mobile-phones/2018/01/samsung-galaxy-s9-slammed-iphone-x-iphone-7-speed-tests/
can someone edit to make it perfect?
Front internal picture??
Can I physically remove the proximity sensor off my phone or does it involve special heating tools etc? I really dont want to struggle with apps and fixes any more. They dont work. My screen goes black while still responding upon touch like it would be if it was on. Tried too many apps, they dont do anything. I would love if there was a way to simply disable the sensor completely. I realy dont mind the screen to be always ON. Anyway, thank you in advance for any help. Next step is a new phone...
What else could it be???
I opened my phone and took out the ribbon of the proximity sensor detached to the mainboard. Rebooted, typed 3845#*802#, checked that there was NO DATA at the proximity sensor test .... and the problem stayed with me, the screen started going black again!!!!!!!! Unbelievable! At this point I'm helpless, I really need your help, there is nothing else I can think of...
Someone is messing with me...
OK...this just happened as I described above. If that is not the problem...I dont know anymore...

Hi
Did you take the ribbon out of the phone or is it still inside?
---------- Post added at 07:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:38 PM ----------
Put the ribbon strip back on the morherboard port.
Then cut a small piece of paper and fit it over the sensor.
See if this solves your problem.
