xzp, unlocked, battery - Sony Xperia XZ Premium Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi,everyone.Sorry.I am not good at English.I want to know if unlocking will cause a change in battery Health test?I mean that *#*#7378423#*#* -> Service tests -> Battery Health test.

I bought mine second hand and unlocked it myself. Battery health says good.

I can see any negative effects : Sony and external test told the accu hold one day. In depend of usage my Accu is good for 1 to 3, 5 days (rooted and Pie)

Quick System Info app showing Battery as "Good"

Hey guys. I was just wondering if there was any step above "Good" in Quick System Info (app) regarding battery health. My battery did have some problems with Darchstar's 2.1 AOSP, such as losing 13% battery instantly, so I just want to make sure there is no "Excellent" above the "Good Value".
mine shows good also so i guess that is normal.
i had had my phone since it came out
There's no reading above good, that's normal
Thanks guys!
Mine says "Awesomely smokin'!" Is this a glitch?

[TIPS] The Best Way to Calibrate our S2 Battery ! [No root needed, Simple, Accurate]

Guys,
Here is, I do think, an interesting topic about the famous eternal question :
"Please, tell me how to calibrate my f*** battery?!".
To begin with, here are some (fresh) news :
You have to know that our dear brand-new device uses new specific MAX17042 drivers which actually don't allow us to normally "calibrate" the battery as many of us could have imagined.
I quote Entropy512 :
Unlike HTC devices, battery calibration doesn't apply to our devices.
Google MAX17040 for more info - while our fuel gauge chip (MAX17042) does have advanced features that would require calibration if used, those features are not yet enabled and it basically behaves identically to a 17040. Maxim specifically designs their fuel gauge chips to not require special calibration procedures..

I mean here that using such applications like Battery Calibration (or anything else), or manually delete Batterystats.bin in data/system folder, or even wipe batterystats in recovery, all theses methods are actually .... useless and a waste!
In fact, the only effect you will notice by doing (deleting) it, is that you'll reset your usage stats in the Android battery usage screen. Nothing else, sorry.
The only current way I've found up to now, is to force the internal chip to do it and therefore reset the fuel-gauge.
Here is a very simple method. Keep in mind that's not the only way :
BTW, no root needed here
1. Turn off your phone.
2. Fully Charge.
3. When getting 100% signal, unplug quickly.
4. Pull off the battery and put it anywhere.
5. Wait for 180 seconds exactly (be careful )
6. Meanwhile, take this opportunity to dust off the internal compartment.
7. Put back the battery on the right side.
8. Turn on the phone.
9. Pray the Battery god
10. ... and voilà !
Click to collapse
After that, you can make some cycle of fully charge/discharge to ~15/20% TO complete the method
I am pleased to share my experience about it.
Hope it could help most of people,
Cheers

I did excatly what you wrote, 100%, pull out cable, pull out batterry, wait min. 90 sec.
But when I turn the phone on the battery shows only 96%?

Are you sure that you have fully charged before unplugging ?
Anyway, If you had well done, just use normally your phone to notice if battery drain is correct, and do a cycle of charge and discharge.
BTW, after doing this method, my battery shows 100%, so I'm sure your battery wasn't 100% fully charged
Yes I'm sure I got the 100% pling the first time.
Charged from 96 to 100 again and did the procedure again and got 100%.
Btw.
If someone knows the max. (fully charged) capacity of the Samsung original 2000mAh pack in mv (4192mV ?) and min. when the phone turne itself off (2800mV ?) I would like to know.
The values will probably be different from packs to packs but approx. values is ok.

About the 96% battery charge it's a known Galaxy SII problem, which has never been solved.
Sometimes you charge to 100%, and sometimes 96% (hiden right after a 100% charge).
You must live actually with this if you want to continue the adventure with your SGSII

I am using "old" official 1650 mAh battery, and max capacity is 4202 mV for me
So, I think you can consider it's about 4200 mV.
Like you know, i've put the new checkROM on my device. Should i calibrate your way before restoring my backup or after ? Does it matter ?

AFAIK, it doesn't matter at all, just make sure that you have restored good files (2.3.5 with 2.3.5 ones)
After running TitaniumBack Pro, you can calibrate your battery if needed, then enjoy this amazing ROM !
That's exactly what i'm going to do !
Super !
Moreover, If you did a full data wipe, there will be for sure zero bug
Waiting for new themes tomorrow, specially for black and white ones.
I'm so trying this

What do you mean by that?
It is recommended to calibrate your battery every time you change your rom (after).
There are some apps in the market but you need to be root.
With this system no root is needed.

[Q] How to change device status to "official" [NEED HELP FAST]?

Hi, few days ago I rooted my phone "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505" with SafeRoot metod.
Now my phone starts rebooting all the time when battery is lower then 50% and now I must send it to service.
I need to unroot my phone before sending it to service.
If I unroot my phone with SU app, will phone status get back to "official" or not?
Can I change devise status to "official" on some other safe way (without tripping KNOX)?
By the way, Im from Croatia "EU".
Thanks!
Here bro:

And search before make a new thread.
I forgot to say, I have stock ROM on my phone, I was only rooted him.

What you need to do:
1. take out the cover of your phone.
2. remove the battery
3. check if the battery's serial begins with: BD
4. Visually, by putting on flat surface, check if your battery is swollen
If answer to 3 or/and 4 is: YES, you have to call Samsung service centre claiming that you have the battery with BD number, that it is swollen visually and that you require replacement battery under the warranty.
Good luck.

Im sure that 4. is YES, BUT I will se 3. later.
The problem starts only when battery is under the 50%, when battery is 50% to 100% phone works without problems.

Im guessing this is battery problem , dont you have any spare battery or something to see if its gonna get fix? its just a few dollars you know. rather than sending for repair and it takes exactly 1 to 2 weeks :S. and if you wanna Download a stock rom base from your country , you can get it from here. Have a nice day.

GT-i9500 battery drain issue

The galaxy s4 comes with a heavy 2,600 mAh battery but in my case I don't think so that I've got exactly 2,600 mAh of battery. The rate of battery discharge in my galaxy s4 is same as in my other device with 1,450 mAh battery. In my other device, each percent(1%) of battery drains after 2 minutes of usage on wifi while same goes for my S4 whose discharging rate is same(1% per every 2 minutes).
What do u think I should do? I've bought s4 second hand and the condition of battery doesn't seem good, I mean not very bad but its just fine. Moreover in my country(Pakistan), there is no one selling genuine battery even not big mobile markets.
Is this caused by my battery being so old?
Probably.

I don't have NFC in my status bar, and my battery is original.
If you can't send files with NFC, then your battery is most probably fake.

But can fake battery be spotted by any physical appearance..? Like something written on battery like"Made in Korea" etc or any other thing?
If u also know any other difference, mention that too. It'd be really helpful

It's hard to spot fake batteries just by physical appearance. Even original batteries differ in appearance from one another.

Battery percentage at %15, powers off.

There will be 15% left on my phone, sometimes more and my Nexus 6P with Nexus Pure Rom keeps ****ting down as of its dead of battery. Is there a solution or way to make the battery actually last until its at 0%?

There is no solution. Even replacing battery is no guarantee as nearly all aftermarket replacement batteries lack proper features. Buying the best one available, chances are you'll receive a counterfit.
Best option: open chat with Google thru settings/support. Explain you're having shut down issues. They will exchange your 6p for a pixel XL.

Really? Even of my Nexus-6p is rooted with a custom ROM and I didn't buy it through the Google Play Store? I bought from a friend and I don't have a receipt. They still will do that? Also I don't have a support option in my Google settings on my phone.

Don't know about that. If friend purchased through play store you may have a shot by giving your IMEI #. Worth trying. If they ok RMA simply return phone to stock when you return it. You may be sol. If so your best option is to find a Real Cameron Sino replacement battery.

Try to use some battery calibration apps to calibrate your battery after flashing a new rom. I have tried this, it gives me a nearly zero shutdown now. But sometimes i need to calibrate two times to have this good status

I use two combinations, the first one is "Repair battery Life" and the second is "Battery calibration".
My procedure is:
1)Use the first app to give a scan of battery status and it will repair automatically if it find some error.
2) Use the second app to calibrate the status (probably let the system know the new status and give the right percentage)
Maybe the above method is not scientific, but it works for me.

Your best option is contact huawei and see if it's under warranty for an RMA, if it's old you might have to pay them to replace the battery

Tried that and it has seemed to make the battery last longer and not shut down pretty maturely. Thanks. I hope it lasts for a while.
Go on eBay or Amazon and do a search for Cameron sino battery for the nexus 6p. I got one for 25.00 last week. It's working like a champ. It doesn't take a tremendous amount of skill to do if your somewhat technically inclined. A desk lamp, and a heat gun. And some Patience. Getting the glass off from around the camera is the hardest part but a little heat and it comes off. There are several videos. But anyway these are really great phones for the money. I would gladly replace my battery again to keep using this phone. Love it
How to ban XDA.developers to appear in my search results?
It never came out with a single one solution for any problem I've searched so far.
It's all fake!
