how to solve google play service high battery usage & Exynos Idle consumption - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Good Day all ,
for those 2 problems the solution is very easy ,
1-for the google play services , if you find it on top of the consumption list , just enter settings - apps - choose google play services - clear cash then storage & manage data and clear all cash & data , it will be fixed nearly 99% of the time,
for general exynos bad consumption the real solution to this is to enter settings - general - reset - then reset settings & accessibility & network then factory reset , and DO NOT restore APPS and SETTINGS again plz plz ,
just restore your Messages if needed & restore you contacts from imported file to SD card for example or from google account , but don't restore any apps or app settings & download them again as new phone from the play store & samsung store
you will find all problems with battery is solved & no heating up etc.. and no complains that the exynos is not as good as SD855

I agree with this. I've seen exynos users who has battery problems were mainly due to the fact they restore their devices from their old device(i think it was called smart switch). Try to just set up your phone as new then download the apps you need and setup the phone again.

i have issues with my s10+ it keeps on losing 1 percent every 2 mins. everytime i charge my fone to 100% and remove the charger cable it immediately drops to 99% and so on every 2-3 mins. it was very frustrating knowing i bought flagship model from samsung. i tried this solution but it automaticall y restore the apps from samsung store and google account as it was backed up before. now im stuck with this battery sucking device. kindly advise if i did something wrong with the process as i am not a techy guy. thank you.

So are you trying to tell me that if I reset my phone and then reinstall all apps without backups, I will miraculously have butter smooth 60fps in pubg and that the thermal throttling issues will be gone? Lol this totally ain't soc related.

S4 - Battery drain - Google and Others
Hi. (I'm only sharing my experience with the intention to hopefully help some user's).
Here is what I did. It seems to be fixed.
Here it is:
1- I went to = Settings > Application Manager
2- I tried to find anything related to Google. (Like: Chrome, Drive, Earth, Google Account Manager, Google Backup Transport, Any thing that has a Google on the name. etc... etc.... plus Hangouts, Maps, Picasa. (The apps you'll find will depend on each user). Do a clear data on everyone, plus click uninstall. Click yes or ok if any questions pop up.
3- Besides Google, find one named Downloads and anything with Market. Do a Clear Data. Uninstall anything if there's the option.
4- Don't worry about uninstalling, ahead you will install everything back again.
5- After all this, remove your Google Account. (Sync before removing as you want)
6- Hold power button and Restart it.
7- Now, create your Google Account back again. Check every option about notifications and syncing stuff, and set it as you wish.
8- Open Play Store. Update everything.
9- Hold power button and Restart it.
10- Now, check every option about notifications and syncing stuff on each of the apps updated and or installed. Set it as you wish.
11- Do the same above about ANY other app you have installed. Some apps don't have many setting's options, but many do, and those some use to create Log's, or connects every once in a while to the internet. It's a pain in the ass work, but I did it.
12- Hold power button and Restart it.
Finish!
About the heating process, like inside the pocket, is most probably because something is trying to find a way to connect, like GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc. Make the right configs for your needs on each and avoid this.
Like the app in the picture attached, "android sensor box". Only 10min on background, and got 5%.
Every once in a while the heat will occur, ans its normal when on use of anything.
Ps:
1- I my be mistaking, but I guess after doing all this, some Google Apps, are a bit different. Google Latitude is gone, and this use to drain a lot of battery.
2- Make sure about what you leave on for Syncing or for Logging, or Registering data like temperature or any other kind of app. There are many doing stuff on the background.
3- Even whit the GPS always on, it is really used only if there's an app trying to use it. That's one of the arguments I have for checking all setting from pretty much every app you have.
4- Check your auto start apps.
Hope it help.

[Q] Help, After removing bloatwares my devices flickers :(

Hi everyone, I just moved from iOS to android like a few months ago and was facing a pathetically bad battery life for my S4 i9505, googled alot and found out that rooting and disabling bloatware is the only effective option, I rooted my device with Odin. Disabled basic apps like S Health, Watch On and stuff but didnt noticed any effective change in my battery life, installed battery Juice defender, battery Guru and Cpu tuner, dont know which does the trick but it felt a bit relief. but the problem now am facing is after disabling a few more apps which i got a safe list on searching from XDA developer's forum. i noticed when I wokeup my time was still stuck at 12:36 and when i pushed the home button my screen began to flicker, it turned black and i turned my device back on manually :/ any idea where things went wrong as am panicking. you can email me on [email protected] as well
I hope android buddies are helping too
U must hav deleted some essentials
No I believe I didn't, I found a safe to remove list on XDA Developer, and I only removed apps which I never used but a few apps i don't know about but as they were mentioned are save to remove {Talkback, StoryAlbum Widget, S Health & Sensor Service, Samsung Hub Updater, Samsung Games, Learning, Watch On, Books, Translator, RoseEUkor, PickUpTutorial, PageBuddyNotiSer, OMACP, NFC Test, Mobile Print Services, LocalFOTA, InteractiveKeyguardTutorial, GroupPlay, Flipboard, ELM Agent, Chat ON}. I installed them after backing up thru Titanium Backup
U installed them after having backup means ? I didnt get u

S8+ Intense Lag/Glithces after May Update (last update)

Hi there,
The S8+ (Exynos) was the smoothest phone I've ever had. It ran perfectly, with no lag/stutter whatsoever, it was butter smooth. That until the last update...(The May update with Bluetooth and SD card stability ; Android May security patch).
Now, the phone lags/stutters/drops frames in everything - it affects the UI animations, the scrolling in almost every app (even in settings), any game (even the least demanding game), browsing, the phone also has keyboard input lag. It also scores very low scores in benchmark apps (about half of what it should score). The phone also heats up for no reason, especially during charging (it was never heating up before the update).
What I've tried (with no effect):
- Disabling all features from Settings, down to the smallest details. Disabling all bloatware apps from settings (Samsung apps, Word, etc.).
- Cleaning Cache/RAM/Junk files with Device Maintenance, Clean Master and SD Maid (and uninstalling those apps afterwards)
- Manually cleaning cache from all apps (all 300+ of them, including system apps)
- Manually force stopping all apps (all 300+ of them)
- Uninstalling all User-installed apps
- Wipe Cache from Recovery Mode
- Manually stopping all running Services from Developer options
- Setting no backround services option in Developer options
- Disabling all safe-to-disable apps (including system ones) using BK disabler
- Several Restarts
- Complete factory reset (from Recovery Mode) and instaliing all apps from scratch. Then, doing all the things above.
----
PS: Animations are not only lagging/stuttering, but they are also glitching in some way (hard to describe, but little artifacts appear when minimizing/maximizing apps).
The screen also developed slight burn in (visible on gray image) in the notification and navigation bar area, although I use it with less than 50% brightness and with AOD disabled
Nothing worked. The phone has very brief moments when the animation lag dissapears, but then it starts back. The phone is now working worse than it did with the Battery Saving Option activated before the update.
I am aware that probably most of you don't have this issue. If you know anything that could help, please tell me.
Should I take it to warranty ? ( I'm afraid that they will open it up and it will loose its water resistance)
Thanks.
There is a dedicated S8+ forum section:

A lot of the things you've done are probably what killed your performance. Disabling an app that another app is dependent on can muck up the latter. Similarly, poorly written low quality apps can be resources drains and may not play well with others. My virgin S8+ is shockingly smooth and I could care less about dormant apps I don't use being active or disabled as long as my phone performs well. I'd suggest a hard reset from recovery, loading your apps of respectable quality, and leaving your phone alone and enjoying it rather than turning it in to a science project.
Same issue here, no app disabled or locked but my S8+ is very slow and lagful.
@ m.tomescu
You know, when you factory reset because of problems, first thing you do is checking if the problem is gone. Only then are you supposed to reinstall your apps one by one.
Is it already bad after factory reset? Then your phone needs a repair, which most likely be a new motherboard.
When performed by Samsung official repair center, your phone will still have the same water resistance.
For a quick test you can enable safe mode, that will exclude everything you've installed.
PS. No lag here on exynos and latest update.

Mine runs like a champ smooth and fast I personally don't like animation I disabled them. I have snap dragon virant I disabled like 25 bloatware with package disabler I have good battery and smooth experience I don't know why Urs is lagging.
I had similar issues on my S7 Edge, with updates destroying battery life. Still, I'd suggest doing a factory reset, installing your most needed apps first and just try using the phone for a week. No prodding, no monitoring etc, just use it and let the phone learn your routine, which data to cache etc and see how things are after.

Weird Battery Drain (x727)

I recently got me le pro 3 about a week ago and i've been experiencing weird battery drain .
On some days i'd get great battery life of about 9 hours sot and on others around 4
When i check my battery stats , the main issues seem to be android os , media server and system service .This is weird to me because i don't change my usage at all , I use the same apps daily for the same amount of time . I've read countless forums post on how to fix the system service drain but nothing helped . I've even tried going a whole day with airplane mode enable , no help . I deleted the majority of my apps but the drain still seems to be there .
I've tried to root the phone but it seems a little complicated , i'm scared of being bricked especially with the lack of tutorials on the web .
Should i reset my phone and go again ?
I found the issue and fixed it , certain web browsers like opera and chrome ramp up my media service and system service in battery . I would recommend using puffing , so far I have no had any problems .
I have the same problem. What can I do to help?

I use opera I don't get get battery drain.
Unlocking bootloader is tricky but not that hard to do.
It is not worth to stay on stock.
Their are threads on unlocking bootloader.

I was confused as to why you and others are experiencing battery drain, but then I realized it's because most people who use this phone use it with a SIM card. I'm a special case, as I don't have a cellular connection going on my device, so of course I'm going to get stellar SoT.
Rooting the phone isn't hard. Just head to the development section for your device (the main Pro 3 sub-forum) and you'll find a thread about rooting your device. You unlock the bootloader first (which wipes your data, so backup everything first), load TWRP, and flash Magisk. Then you can install apps and frameworks like Xposed to help you manage your device better.
Or you can uninstall LeEco bloatware apps through adb via the platform-tools package. https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/help/adb-bloatware-removal-le-pro-3-x722-x720-t3680384
The real issue with this method is figuring out what you can uninstall safely, without breaking the ROM. I went all out and uninstalled literally everything I could, and it's worked out for me, though the one thing I can't do is change the lockscreen image because that's controlled by a LeEco app. You can stick to the basic list if you're worried.

Phone working very slow

Hello,
I own Huawei Nova (CAN0L11C) with EMUI 5 and Android 7. I use it for more than a year now and so far everything looked great.
However, recently I'm very pissed of the productivity of the phone. I am using it mainly not in my country of origin as I work in a different country, but since I'm here I noticed that the phone acts veeery very slow. It becomes a huge issue to open google maps and start navigating with it, and during that time i don't want to speak about multitasking. It's almost impossible to swithc to other apps.
Here are some things that I tried:
I've cleared up disk space.
From time to time i use some apps like NoxCleaner to clean the memory and caches but this fixes the problem temporarily
I did uninstalled apps that i dont use
Nothing helps much. I would appreciate any suggestions to make that phone great again!
you have to factory reset your phone ( 1st you have to save your personal files on Sdcard )
Settings -------> Advanced setting ------> Backup & Reset -------> Factory Data Reset ------> Reset Phone
yeah im kinda trying to avoid that, but thanks for the suggestion. this will be my last option if nothing else works.
Same problem there. Factory reset already done but nothing changes... Some news on the subject ?

How's your RAM usage? Don't use anti viruses and task killers. They're useless on Android.
You can try LineageOS 14.
Thanks for sure.
I have at least 1Go Ram free. Lags appears on maps, snapchat and screen freeze...
Same problem exists
Same problem happening, any solution for this issue?
I have been experiencing the same slow speeds & lag. The 1st 6 months I was so impressed with the performance of this phone, even comparing it to the performance of the flagships. It was really that good. But, come 8 months down the line, & I'm battling with lag, poor multitasking & screen freezing. Im trying to avoid factory resetting & on top of all this I don't have access to my trusted tools as I can't unlock the bootloader to gain root.
Can somebody look into this please & provide some feedback. I doubt its the processor or hardware causing these issues as the Snapdragon 625 is one of the best in its class & other phones using it aren't experiencing the same problems. I have a feeling its got something to do with the Android system updates of recent. The Google security patches updates. I noticed the speed issues after each update was installed.
FINALLY got to the bottom of my Huawei NOVA's performance issues!!!
Firstly, just want to say, Google & Huawei you are both a bunch of Monkeys !!!
I've owned my fone for two years now, and the latter year the device was just a piece of Sh1t to use, anything like Google Maps, or Assist or 'OK Google' was ridiculous to try and use, ..and everything else was running at like a 3rd performance of what the phone was supposed to be acting like. (hanging & freezing whenever you needed it to do something)
**What really cheesed me off is the amount of times this phone went back to Huawei under Warranty and they didn't even both running a performance test with all their technical know how to identify which process/application was the culprit - & o yes, it was a specific process (Or update rather as the last guy on this Thread assumed it was).
No Android apps either from the play store - like Process identifier apps etc would show any bottleneck in either RAM or CPU when the go slow or hanging was occurring, ..its like it couldn't detect the "layer" of which the issue was occurring on.
So Huawei just kept Factory resetting my phone and sending it back,.then as soon as I load my apps and within a week its all balls again. (And Im wondering if its one of my apps doing it)
To the point: IT IS THE **** GOOGLE APP **** itself, ..or at least the updates that are applied after your fone has completed its factory reset (If you did this) and the next updates come down automatically via Google Play store. (This isn't Google Assist or the Android OS itself,..the listing in the installed apps is just called 'Google' or 'Google LLC' (Im a new user so cant post any images or links yet untill after 10 basic posts first).
Grrr! ..this has been soo frustrating to find this out, ..so I just uninstalled updates for this 'Google App' so its back to the default original the phone came with, & now my phone is absolutely flying again - whilst I still have it loaded with all my apps etc.
So who's to blame here, ..Google for pushing updates which kill the phone OR Huawei should've identified this and responded with either a fix OR that the middle weight Nova can't handle the latest 'Google App' updates.
For the record - I also managed to get my Nova updated to Android Nougat (Which wasn't officially released on Nova UK phones, .. I got the correct firmware/software update etc,... but also since it went from Marshmallow to Nougat it also was crippling slow and therefore I got it reverted back to Android 6 Marshmallow (Now Im wondering if again it was simply that the latest Google App Updates had been applied to Nougat and messed the phone ?? - anyway ..ill keep it on Android 6 for now,..just happy that its responsive again and flying.
I also have to manually press the Microphone on the screen now whenever I want to speak to 'OK Google' ..its not automatic anymore - or rather constantly listening out for me to say 'OK Google' (So this must be applicable to the latest Google App update - but then this Nova just cant handle being on listen the whole time. ... But anyway if that's the price to pay for excellent performance now, ..then I dont mind at all. stuff automatic listening for me to say 'OK Google' Ill control it manually instead.
Its been so long that I forgot how a phone should be, ..its insane how fast my phone is now since uninstalling the frikken Google App)
Dont let this Google App update from your phones original - Disable Android Auto Updates
Hope this Helps you guys. (Actually it will blimming well help)
Peace

THANK YOU! <3 I have uninstalled the Google App leaving untouched rest of the google services like "google apps services" or "maps" etc. Now my phone is working as it should be!
Hi guys. Any update on your overall speed?
I factory reset the phone and it helped a bit for a while. Then I disabled the Google App and it worked like a charm... for a while. Now it's incredibly laggy again.
It's really frustrating to use. I would love to install a custom ROM, alas I don't have the bootloader unlock codes
