For those of you who don't know about these new head units. It is the first headunit that is running an Android based operating system that is compatible with MirrorLink.
I can't post a link but if you google "mobile electronics magizine xav-601bt" you can find a lot of info on it.
I am curious what people are going to do with these once it is rooted, just think of the possibilities!
What are the chances we can get MirrorLink to work on all android based devices? So far it looks to only be planned for new phones but I am sure that we could change that.
Nobody else thinks this is amazing? You now can install an android based computer/audio/video in your car that you can mirror your phone's interface on!! Literally your car can now do everything your phone does, something people have wanted to do years.
I'm doing some research on the XAV-601BT right now. Saw you posted some info on another car audio site and I would like to know what you think of the unit. Such as: what apps would currently integrate an xperia pro freshly updated to android 4.** and are there any known issues with particular devices or configurations? Any mod sites messing around with getting rid of the bugs yet, safety nannies or performance wise? I can't find much besides chatter yet.
You mentioned that you had access to a unit and if it is installed could you give some details of what it is pushing and how it is performing?
Thanks allot. I am holding out for another unit that has been delayed again but this might make me pull the trigger. And yes, the prospect of running all my phone apps via my head unit makes me happy, let alone being able to root and customize.

I think you don't have the right phone for it.. only Nokia and the new Samsung Galaxy S3 support Mirror Link.
I've read somewhere that Mirror Link is hardware based, but maybe it's the same technology as MHL.
Thanks for the reply. I read that the 2012 Xperias would be MirrorLink capable too. I came across conflicting information on it being implementable for smartphones that had output capabilities of uUSB and HDMI like my Xperia pro. If a phone can support RealVNP I think it should work but I'm just learning about this technology. I've got some research to do on this before I pull the trigger because I want/need qwerty with my hand size and I don't see anything similar to the pro in the pipeline that would come factory capable with MirrorLink.
Anybody know for sure what it would take to run MirrorLink on a phone like the 2011 Xperia pro?

He is right about the S3 and nokia phones being the first supported. Windows phones and other phones are expected in the future but there is little information available. I originally heard that mirrorlink was a hardware solution but now I believe it is software. There is a good chance that it could be ported but it is going to be hard to tell until the S3 launches and some people on here start playing with it. I also hope they make an area for the XAV-601BT and XAV-701HD on this site so people can start focusing on rooting the unit as it is Android bassed.
I have used the unit and even without the mirrorlink it is an amazing unit. It literally does everything I could want in a double din head unit.
I currently have the xav-601bt i picked up from my audio shop yesterday. I also have a htc sense and the unit will only display unsuported device. Speaking with the sony west coast rep today, I was informed that there will be rollouts for the mirror link. It seems that it will be an app you can download from the play store.
The rollouts are expected to be every 60 days, but as for what phones are capable of running the mirror link protocol remains a mystery.
I offered my phone to be tested for there software but he will have to check with his higher ups about that. I am hoping that it will soon be available for download and one of the developers that crack it to work with other phones, like the netflix and hulu apps.
I am still waiting on information from the east coast rep on this as well. If I get anymore information I'll be sure to post it here.
Could you post some experiences with this unit? Do you think it's fast enough? How about the touchscreen; how well does it react to your finger and what about the sun.
There is a russian video on youtube giving a demo of this device.. not much to understand (at least for me) but at least you can see the features a little bit:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGMxaMnfTFo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB9V641jTZQ
As you can see in the video, it's not as smooth as I hoped for.. sometimes you have to touch something two or three times before it works.

I have this unit as well and have had it since late May. It is actually pretty responsive(for a touchscreen head unit) and boots up fast. I am coming from a x930BT which was horrible in both of these areas. The having to press more than once is more related to how accurate you need to be to hit what the unit considers the button. It is small area that accepts the input for that button, hopefully they address this in a FW update.
As for the Sun question - pretty bad, but my car has a bad location for the radio that doesn't help the problem any. The sun beats directly on the screen and it is completely washed out.
Thanks tvrvic for the reply
Hmm the sun problem is not a good thing, a lot of units have problems with that and I hoped that a big company as Sony wouldn't have this problem.
I've had this unit for a few days so far and love it. I'm order the steering wheel control adapter today. It has a matte finish on the screen and that helps the glare, I can see the screen just fine.
.
Thread moved to Q&A due to it being a question. Would advise you to read forum rules and post in correct section.
Failure to comply with forum rules will result in an infraction and/or ban depending on severity of rule break.

Thanks, I also just saw this link: http://forums.mcx7.com/showthread.php/132693-Double-Din-Sony-XAV-601BT-Install-pics! with a photo of the unit in the sun and it looks good
Now we just need to root it
Hi Guys just asking for a bit of an update - im in the uk so the bigger 701hd isnt out yet, i was looking at the Alpine ICS x-8 which also supports mirror link - there is a demo out on youtube which shows it working with the Galaxy S2! Do you guys think this would work with the S3?

This head unit does not actually run Android, so there's nothing to root. It uses MirrorLink to mirror your phone's display on the head unit. You'll have to wait a few months for Clarion's double din Android head unit to release to have Android running natively on your head unit. There are some cheap no-name head units out there right now running Android, but they're poor quality and I don't think any of them are even running Gingerbread.
thanks for that info.
so the sony won't be hackable. given that, is mirrorlink's app approval mechanism hackable on the android end? does anyone know mirrorlink tech beyond:
Universal Plug and Play (UPnP™) is used for controlled access to applications. Virtual Network Computing (VNC™) is used to replicate the phone's display on the navigation screen and communicate user inputs back to the phone. Besides Bluetooth™, audio can also be streamed using the Real-Time Protocol (RTP).
MirrorLink™ also provides a mechanism that ensures only approved applications are accessible while driving.

I just installed this unit in my car - the Open source license page on the unit shows a lot of .apk files and also reference AOSP, and Linux 2.6.x licenses - so it is Linux
The mirror link support looks like it comes from tmlibs.so - which they published on their support site (Trying to find the links - I downloaded what they published for opensource -
the libraries they put on their site were: (Repeating tar.bz2 was their names)
EDIT: the url for the sony site is : http://www.sony.net/Products/Linux/Audio/XAV-701BT.html
GPL_SGX_KM_20111130.tar.bz2.tar.bz2.tar.bz2
alsa-lib.tar.gz
dnsmasq.tar.gz
iproute2.tar.gz
iptables.tar.gz
webkit.tar.gz
kernel.tar.gz
and the most interesting
ML_Necessitas_Build.tar.bz2.tar.bz2.tar.bz2
TmLibs.tar.bz2.tar.bz2.tar.bz2
The TmLibs looks like it has a mirrorlink server and client embeded, using the QT libraries in the ML_Necessitas, and there is an ortpLib directory in there as well.
Would it be possible they are running some android apks within the system as the USB music app seems very androidish (menus & icons) while the ipod app not so much?

Support for the Samsung GALAXY S III is planned. Car Mode compatibility will differ by country or region.
Support for Europe was going to be available on July 20 2012.
But, Support for Europe will be delayed to August 31 2012, because of software development has been delayed.
And timing for US/Canada is TBA. Support for Asia/Middle East is TBA.

So MirrorLink with the JVC will work at the end of August, so I guess that will also mean Sony will support it by that date.
Other flagships have hardware that support this - does the Nexus and is Android 4.2 likely to support it? (4.1 does not).
Why is it useful? Well if you use a heart rate monitor for sports, it will last longer. It can also be used to connect devices.
It's a huge feature for me as a runner. Currently I use a Garmin 305 which is an awesome, if ugly, product. With apps like strava / endomondo and more, it would be nice to have all this, with GPS and music on one device
I believe Bluetooth 4.0 is present on this device. Check the spec sheet on Google Play, but I'm 99.99% sure.
The hardware is present for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) but as yet, no version of Android supports it.
There is an issue thread on google regarding this - if people star it google might treat the issue as a priority.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=33371
I think google is looking to NFC for nearfield communication forgetting some of the cool uses bluetooth can be put to.

The Broadcom BCM4330 supports BTLE (http://www.broadcom.com/press/release.php?id=s549642), and according to this website: http://www.ubmtechinsights.com/repo...market-reports/Report-Profile/?ReportKey=8713
The LG Optimus G uses that Broadcom chip, so it's possible that the Nexus 4 also uses it?
According to the newly updated Android 4.2 changelog: http://developer.android.com/about/versions/jelly-bean.html
Android 4.2 introduces a new Bluetooth stack optimized for use with Android devices. The new Bluetooth stack developed in collaboration between Google and Broadcom replaces the stack based on BlueZ and provides improved compatibility and reliability.

I sure hope that we will have BTLE support with the Nexus 4. I really want to buy a Polar H7 HRM!
I'm glad someone else is concerned
It doesn't look too good. Although they have rewritten the stack, there is no mention of Bluetooth Low Energy or Bluetooth Smart.
Apart from the issue raised with google in my first post, I have no idea how to reach out to them regarding this. Does anyone know? This is Android general rather than device specific. Pretty much all the new handsets have hardware that support BLE but there is no OS support in Android
At last - some hope. Although there is no ETA, looks like we can hope for BLE support in Android 4.3
"BLE will be the next major feature we are going to add."
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/android-platform/CYtxCmtZ-WI/aIzBq7KbKVUJ
Any updates on the BLE support? I am working on a BLE breakout board and would like to get it working with the Nexus 4 rather than just the computer via a dongle. From what I've found online there is a BLE stack in 4.2, yet for some reason I can't find it or get anything to work.
What exactly would this do? I understand the low energy stuff, but I don't see what else it has, and whether we have to enable it first, or something.

BLE is a wireless protocol that peripheral devices can use to interface with your phone. Somewhat similar to regular bluetooth (and other proprietary wireless links), it can allow a sensor to wirelessly stream data or allow a phone to control a robot or any other device with BLE. I'm not sure if that answers your question. The real benefit is that BLE uses significantly less power (upon other things) and thus can enable a new set of devices. For example, part of my dissertation is a cardiac monitoring system which I would like to connect to my Nexus 4.
Any news?
Hi guys,
Are there any news on Bluetooth 4.0 / smart ready on the Nexus 4 and maybe 4.2.2 yet?
Was someone already able to pair the Nexus 4 with the Polar H7?
Maybe I'll order one and try if it works by now.
Thanks for your answers anyway. :good:
I have the same question about BLE.

Arrrghg - your post is what I found when searching for Fitbit, which I just bought. Very frustrating our N4's can't support the BT connection yet. I also hate that stupid dongle!
The new Fitbits use BLE too? Wow, Google need to get Android caught up, really never expect them to be behind with technologies.
So, should I send my H7 back, or wait???

OK so I have been thinking about this for a while. I know the Samsung galaxy s3 and note 2 allow Bluetooth syncing. Can we try a build.prop rename for device name to spoof a galaxy s3 and see if the 4.0 can get any action? Anyone able to help me with this.
I have been in contact with Fitbit and they say the Bluetooth stack for hardware is different on each hardware. But I'm still wanting to get this working. Anyone able to assist? Fitbit one and nexus 4

I just bought a Fitbit One. I do not even see the One on my LG Nexus 4 V4.2.2 using the standard bluetooth control panel. Maybe there's a radio diag util that'll let me see it. Android Fitbit V1.6.1 software does not offer the option to sync on my LG Nexus 4. The LG Nexus 4 DOES have Bluetooth v4.0 hardware doesn't it?
I have an SMK Link V4 LE USB Bluetooth dongle on my netbook that, after downloading the god awful 400 megabyte driver from their website, does show the Fitbit One bluetooth but the Netbook refuses to attach to the Fitbit One. The Win 7 bluetooth control panel times out. It says I never entered the number (presumably on the FitBit One). I never saw any prompt to enter the four digit code on the PC or the Fitbit One.
Fitbit.com/store shows a $14.95 wireless dongle so I can sync at work & home but I'm hesitant to buy it given support for more Android phones are "coming soon". I wish they'd communicate their plans, schedules & devices better.

I just stumbled upon this:
URL deleted because I'm a noob.
Finally! Wireless Sync (beta) on Android!
2013 February 12
by lking
We’re excited to announce that wireless syncing with Android has arrived! Our free Fitbit App for Android now syncs your Fitbit One and Zip stats directly to the Samsung Galaxy SIII and Note II. With our app, you can sync your stats wirelessly (beta) and see how you are tracking against your daily goals, with friends, and against historic averages. You can download the app from Google Play today!
Android dashboard
Android dashboard
We know how important it is for our customers to get real-time access to their stats. Those who’ve been able to take advantage of wireless background syncing already have been telling us how they’ve worked to get their extra steps in after receiving notifications that they’re close to their goal, or how they find motivation from the instant feedback right on their Dashboard. We are very excited to bring this feature to our Android users!
We began working on the wireless sync for Android and iOS at around the same time. It took us much longer to get this working on Android phones than it did with iOS, and we appreciate our Android users’ patience in the meantime. We know many of you may be curious about the development of this feature, and we’d like to share some insight into some of the challenges we’ve encountered and what they’ve taught us in the process.
Currently, the Android OS does not provide apps with access to the Bluetooth 4.0 chips in newer phones. To work around this, some phones instead have custom software that provides access to Bluetooth 4.0. Since this software is different for each phone, our team has worked on developing a solution for each phone independently.
Fitbit is among the first to try and use the Bluetooth 4.0 in Android phones, and part of being the first means we got to help find and document any problems with the software. We also spent quite a bit of time piecing together how the software works, since it previously hadn’t been well-documented. For many of the problems we encountered, we were able to create our own work-arounds. For others, we coordinated with phone manufacturers and carriers to get more permanent fixes in place.
For phones we have yet to introduce syncing capabilities with, we’re working with phone manufacturers to see which phones will allow our app to work with their Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities. This process involves us individually checking each model of phone. There may be better support for third-party apps to access Bluetooth in the future, and once this is available we will be able to easily support all phones with this update.
We’ve been working hard to improve the wireless sync experience, but the feature is still in beta. Syncing your stats will typically take about 30 seconds. In some cases, especially where there are issues with network connection, it may take longer. We’re working hard to provide the best user experience possible, so improved syncing speed is just one thing you can look forward to seeing in future updates of our Android app.
Fitbit is dedicated to making connected devices that fit seamlessly into your everyday life, and we fully believe that incorporating Android phones in all of our future efforts is a huge part of that. We truly appreciate our Android users’ patience as we continue to work on supporting additional mobile devices. We’re closely collaborating with phone carriers and handset manufacturers to try to support more phones. There’s a number of phones we’re actively working on, but we don’t yet have an ETA on when we might be able to release updates to include them. For now, you can see a list of all of the supported devices here. If your device is not on that list, we encourage you to contact your phone carrier to ask that they work to build out further Bluetooth support. Your feedback could help us speed this process along!
Happy syncing and logging — wherever you go!
–The Fitbit team
Seems the problem is Google have not fully implemented Bluetooth 4.0 support, but Samsung for all their faults, have. Maybe we will get lucky with the next release of Android, Google IO is 2 weeks away.

Yup. As this is a Nexus 4 forum, I figured the distinction was obvious. Thanks for making it clear. Fingers cross for some BT4 announcement at IO.
So I have been reading reviews for the flex and one of them mentioned NFC syncing to mobile devices although the fitbit website doesn't seem to spec this feature..... Was this just a deranged reviewer??
edit: Another review explains the following
"Even if your phone isn't one of the currently compatible models (the Galaxy S III, S4 and Note II), the inclusion of NFC lets you quickly launch the app with a tap, though there will be no ability to sync."

No, that's true. It just opens up the app but doesn't sync. I hate going back to TW. Mann.
ok im going to put this out there, but why do you need to sync your fitbit with your phone at all, i use my fitbit all day long and as long as i walk within 20 feet of my pc at home with the fitbit usb adapter and software on it my fitbit syncs so does my wifes, when she gets home from work walks in front door boom sync'd i have never had to open the app to sync my fitbit manually and never seen the need to sync to app being their are indicators on all fitbits saying where you stand on activity.
You only need mobile sync if you're away from your home pc for more than 5 days.

its quirky, sometimes i have to make my phone have sex with my fitbit to get it launch the app thats all the nfc feature does. its 90% of the time faster to just open the app with my finger then nfc, but its not nearly as cool as fitbit/phone sex
I have a Fitbit Flex and have looked into this. Apparently mobile syncing requires BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) which our phones don't have. However, they are capable of it and BLE is one of the rumored additions for Android 4.3.
Personally I hate having to take my dongle back and forth between home and work so I'm looking forward to being able to sync on my phone.
bringing this thread back up. I know that we have BLE now in 4.3 but fitbit has not updated the app yet. Anyway we can spoof the app in Build.prop maybe to make it work?
Pretty sure that the app needs to be coded for the nexus 4 BLE driver first...
I'm returning my OP3T due to bluetooth issues with multiple devices while streaming music, movies, etc. I've never had these same issues with my other phones (various Nexuses) or my tablets (Nexus 7, iPad Mini 4).
My RMA request from OnePlus was processed as I'm still within the 15-day guarantee window, but they had the audacity to include this in the message they sent me:
We apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused you. Before we process your RMA request, we would like to inform you that our wifi and bluetooth are using one antenna only so if you want your WiFi and Bluetooth to function accordingly, please use them one at a time.

What on earth?! Are they saying this is a design flaw?
There is no issue with using them at the same time at all. Maybe your device is faulty or, more probably, your bt hw is acting wrong. Never had any problem and I'm costantly with both in use.
I mean, I guess that makes sense, and I asked them about it in the RMA ticket, but it's also bizarre to be explicitly told not to use the features simultaneously by one of their support staff.
In my case both Bluetooth and WiFi work simultaneously exactly the way they should. What that OP employee said must be some serious bull****.
Very strange. I am also using both of them together without any issues
That is just a crazy thing for them to tell you. I think the vast majority of us use/keep on WiFi when at home, and then use our phones simultaneously with any number of BT devices: speakers, headphones, fitness trackers, etc. etc. etc. It's really the whole point of Bluetooth to be able to use these peripherals along with streamed music, videos; and not have to toggle BT and WiFi off and on all the time.
I read your other thread, and it doesn't seem to be a widespread problem; at least from responses so far. My thinking, is that you do have a defective phone. I use my 3T constantly with 4 different BT devices (car head unit, headphones, phone earpiece, speaker) and always have WiFi on, and it works almost flawlessly.

My thoughts exactly! I mean, OK, share the antenna or whatever, but have firmware that divides the time up so WiFi and BT aren't shouting at the same time. Even if they had separate antennae they'd still be close together and would cause interference, so the time-division would be important.
I was expecting "gee that's weird, let's get your phone fixed ASAP!" not "yer doing it wrong".

Dude what exactly are you trying to inform us? Your problem is our problem also? Im not abusing my device with too many peripherals connected at tye same time.

No, I'm literally saying that a OnePlus employee told me not to use Bluetooth and WiFi at the same time and that's why I was having problems with interference/disconnection (in spite of only connecting to one device, not doing anything too crazy, etc etc). They literally told me to "use them one at a time" (WiFi or Bluetooth) when using a 3T.

Base on this other thread, the OP doesn't seem to have multiple peripherals connected at the same time: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/help/crazy-useless-bluetooth-device-t3582925
He mentions 3 peripherals (car head unit, speaker dock, headphones). All those are media (audio) peripherals, so in use one at a time. Nothing here seems unreasonable. His point by mentioning "multiple devices" in the top post, is to point out the same issue occurs on each (so probably a matter of one peripheral not playing well).
Probably a cheap BT peripheral.
They have to fix it if its a hardware issue. They simply must.
@redpoint73 good to see you enjoying the OP3T. What did you do with the your N6P?
OP, never had issues with wifi/bt on. Good luck on getting your issue resolved.

Yeah. I use them together and don't have any issues.

They meaning an employee told you. Not sure what its like in canada but here in the uk if you shop at pc world or in any of the phone supplier high street shops, you are better off asking them what side of your bread is best for to spread on, let alone any tech questions. They will always answer with the bottom side.

It says right in the top post, "they" means OnePlus. Only use Bluetooth or WiFi one at a time, is what the message OnePlus sent to the OP stated, when he put in his RMA (service) request.

Hey buddy! I actually know you from even before the 6P days (never owned one), but rather the HTC M8 forum section!
The M8 is still kicking. I use it as a WiFi-only device at home for my kids to watch Netflix, Youtube, and play their games.
I actually just upgraded from the M8 in February. That was a great phone; hard to let go of, as there was really nothing wrong with it (which is why it took me so long to upgrade). But I was finally ready for something faster, and with a better camera (as I take a lot of snapshots of the kids). And the nicer screen, and added security of the fingerprint reader on the OP3T is nice to have, also.
I knew that. I was just stating that these companies sometimes hire people whom know jack about what they're giving advice about. It's like asking an Irishman where the tax department is. He only knows we're the closest pub which sells Guinness.

Ehhhhh no, I think by process of elimination (sheer quantity) we can say it isn't, unless you mean the chip in the phone.
I have now tested:
- the TomTom factory navigation system in a 2013 Mazda 3 GT
- a Pioneer X930BT head unit
- a Monoprice #15274 wireless headphone set
- a weirdo Monoprice speaker that, admittedly, probably has exactly the same electronics as the headphones (makes the same noises, has the same number of buttons)
- a harman/kardon speaker dock
- a Microsoft Bluetooth LE mouse (Mobile Mouse 3600)
- an old Apple full-size Bluetooth keyboard, not LE (BT 3.0?)
- two FitBit Alta BT LE fitness trackers
Every single device was paired one-at-a-time, tested in airplane mode (obviously switching BT back on after), where they worked fine, then switching WiFi back on and streaming a video and trying to continue to use the device where they all eventually crapped the bed (random disconnects).
Every single one of these devices (except where BT LE is not available) works/worked fine on:
- Nexus 4 (battery is hosed)
- Nexus 5 (borrowed)
- Nexus 5X (wife's)
- Nexus 6P (dead now...)
- iPad Mini 4
- my Surface Pro 3
- Nexus 7 Wifi only
So by process of elimination, it's probably the OnePlus 3T. That's fine! I don't have anything personal against it. I was just absolutely baffled by how OnePlus (two different people now!) told me not to use WiFi and BT simultaneously, instead of like, "hey your phone is probably busted, let us fix it!"

It may be what you meant, but it's not what you typed. You said "employees" (not specifying employed by whom) and started talking about PC/phone shops. So it made it sound like you thought the OP was quoting an employee from a (3rd party) phone retail shop.
In any case, the quality (or lack thereof) of the OnePlus customer/tech support staff (and their response message) is the whole point of the original post.

Ok, I'll try not to be funny next time.
Hi,
I am currently looking for a new Android 6 double din head unit to fit in my car. After many hours of research and price comparison, I finally have picked 2 (actually 3) devices to choose from.
On the one hand there is the Ownice C300 (either as quad core (200€) or as the octa core (300€) version). I think their specs are known because there are already a lot of threads concerning these units. Its unique feature is the built-in 4G modem.
The other alternative is the Zeepin DY7098 which you can get for approx. 170€. Apparently, it has an Intel SofiaGR3 SoC, supports fast boot and has a built-in 3G modem. Other specs are quite similar to the C300: same display resolution, 2GB RAM.
As far as I've read in other threads, the Intel SoC should be faster than most of other quad core SoCs (and maybe also than the octa core), because the other chips use slow Cortex A7 cores. The unit should be fast enough for navigation, radio and OBD bluetooth. I definitely don't want to use it for games.
Maybe someone knows the Zeepin device, which is currently my favorite, because of its looks and the low price.
Any opinion or experience is highly appreciated
Hi, I would be also interested in the Zeepin device, did you order it? Does anyone know anything about that device?
If I were you I would buy an unit that has a good XDA community because all the Chinese units have software issues and with XDA can remedy some if not all of them.
The support from manufacturer is rarely good (but there are exceptions, Joying was the exception for me), in my experience was poor or simply non-existent.
Yes, I ordered the Zeepin unit. I hope it will be delivered next week so that I can install it on the weekend. The main reason, I bought it is that it is only half the price of comparable Joying devices (they have no modem included, so this adds to the total costs). And the Zeepin device is also distributed under the "Pumpkin" brand, at least here in Germany and their devices have pretty good reviews on amazon.
I will give you an update as soon as possible.

Does Dasaita/Hot-Audio sell standalone head units? From the http://www.hot-audio.com website it looks like only make head units with customized integrated dash kits.

Would also like to hear a review of the unit if you get the chance.
m using DY7098. its good purchase. only issue m facing during up gradation of android version. I even cant login to the boot option also.
looking for any suggestion in this regards.
So far I can say that the unit is pretty good. The boot time is only 2 seconds and the unit is very responsive in general. The build quality as well as the sound quality are very good. Everything works fine (Bluetooth, GPS, 3G).
The only thing is that it came with Android 5.1 on it, although the product description says ot is Android 6. I need to check how to update the device.
However, I can highly recommend it, especially considering the low price.

Hi yonaz77, I also want to buy this Zeepin DY7098. It looks realy nice and the price is perfect.
I hope you don't mind to help me with some questions.
Did you find a way to update the firmware to Android 6.0?
Did you try this built in 3G modem? Is it working fine? Do you know what kind of frequencies is it using?
Hi!
No i did not find a way to update the device. But as far as the software is working fine, I don't really care that much.
3G is working fine for me, but I dont know the feequencies. Only issue is that I sometimes get an interference with my car speakers.
I'm also running Zeepin DY7098 with Android 6 on board, however my unit can't read any USB devices. Has someone run into the same problem as well?

I'm also running Zeepin DY7098 with Android 6.0.1. I have the exact same problem. It can't read USB devices. but phone charges through USB ports.
Anyone know how to update the MCU version on the device.
@kozunio12 @dsandun Did you receive the unit with Android 6.0.1 installed on the device or did you update it? Because mine came with Android 5.1.1 and I am looking for a possibility to update it...

It came with the Android 6.0.1 installed.
Today I managed to do the update. I found the ROM here on XDA in this thread: Click
Just update the Android and leave the MCU as it is. The update took about 20 minutes, but everything went fine.

No problem after update to Marshmallow? Do you need to root device before update? The update file is 24 April 2017 - 3G only?
You noted some improvement?
I'm using Zeepin DY7098 Adroid 5.1.1 works fine but sometimes the 3g not works and I need to reboot.
