Android touch pad - Lenovo Yoga Book Questions & Answers

Just picked up an Android version, touch pad... Is it just mine or are they all wonky like this? Random vibrations, half the time it thinks I'm clicking something, scrolling is just ridiculous.. This can't be how it was designed, is it?

The trackpad shouldn't be behaving like that. I was describing the YB (on MacRumors of all places) and how well it worked but another member complained about the same symptoms that you described. Their issues were resolved by updating to Nougat. I suggest doing that if you haven't already. If the problem persists after that, try a factory reset.

home/menu/back/search buttons dont work at all

My dad's G2 after the gingerbread upgrade started to act dumb, now the home/menu/back/search buttons dont work at all, I did factory reset, cache cleaning, erased sd card and nothing! I have been looking on google for solutions and nothing, but I have found some people having the same issue after update
same here
mine stoped responding
all four capacitive front buttons are dead
I'm having the same issue, except my phone was already rooted and running CM 7.0 without any issues to report. I have barely been using my G2 lately because I have an iPhone 4S as well for work, and it gets much more attention these days. I just noticed today that none of the aforementioned buttons work at all any more, even after reboots. Tried reinstalling, upgrading to CM 7.1, even tried MIUI's latest to see if it was some software glitch, still nothing. It just seems so weird given nothing else is wrong with the touch screen at all.
I've done some searching as well and haven't been able to find any solutions for this issue. Anyone have any updates? Is this simply a hardware issue?
mine was doing that with the tiamat kernel
hey for those that have this problem and are using cm7 try using zdunes patcher to get the tablet buttons

What is the cause of this? - Touch Input issues

I have been having some weird issues with the Nexus 7 that google gave me so that they could look into the "lag issue".
There was stuff happening before I took the video, it launched the news & weather widget (I think) which prompted the orlando website to come up. Not really sure.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O42oNiyyvvY&
It is becoming a huge problem, and I am not sure what to do about it. I don't think a factory reset, or pushing a new firmware image down will fix the problem as it doesn't seem like it is consistent. If I reboot the device all works fine, after several hours 4+ it starts happening, reboot again and everything works alright.
Just really weird, and would appreciate some insight.

Horrible Stutters and Freezes on New Replacement Device

I got a replacement device with stock rom recently and it suddenly started to experience stutters, lags and freezes frequently. For example, I'd be typing on the keyboard and suddenly everything stops responding. It happens in Chrome, randomly whenever I'm using the keyboard, and basically throughout the rom.
One solution is for me to wait 2 minutes and it might suddenly start responding. But the only sure solution that always works is for me to lock and unlock the device a few times (using the power button) and everything goes back to normal for two minutes until it lags and freezes again.
Thoughts anyone?
I had all the same previous apps on my previous Nexus 4 and had no problems....
RMA karma.......
........
These are tough to troubleshoot, but to narrow it down to hardware vs. software, I'd do a Factory Reset, and test, before signing into your Google Account and d/l'ing all your apps. If it works fine for a time/day, THEN sign in and only add a few apps (set Market auto update/restore off for the time being). Naturally do the apps your require daily first, and check stability for some time before adding back your 'fluff' apps. Often a poor app can be the culprit.
This happened to my nexus 7. I had it for about a month and i noiced that it started lagging really bad. Watching a video was just horrible and the responsiveness of it was bad. I just thought that it was a app or the custom rom i was running. I factory restored it and locked the bootloader and it still lagged. I just RMA'd it and i got a new one that was much better.

Actually the keyboard is screwed up too. In gesture typing it randomly draws lower on the keyboard than I'm actually drawing. I'm guessing that it is a hardware or touchscreen sensor problem. I did an RMA and Fido Asurion promised to have a replacement to me by July 3rd. The only problem is that they only seem to send out refurbished phones for RMA's.

Yeah..if it's acting up after a Factory Reset, then no amount of fiddling will solve it. Sorry man!

[Q] Nexus 4 Ghost touches

So I bought a used N4 sold as is because the seller said he had some issues with the ROM and the touch sensitivity and all it needed was a stock ROM flash. I took up the challenge and flashed stock 4.4.4.
While I'm at the home screen everything's fine, as soon as opened the app drawer there were random touches all over the bottom half of the screen. Some were shown in the center and many at the bottom left corner but most were just random. I mean like 7-8 touches per second. The same happened whenever I went into play store, Opera or Chrome. Didn't test it further since I decided to try another rom.
Flashed Purity ROM and at first glance it worked flawlessly. Not random touches in home screen, app drawer or settings. Then I flash Gapps and the same thing happens with Play and Opera.
The funny thing is that the problem persists but at different circumstances. Can't pinpoint the exact cause. Should I get a new screen and try? Or maybe something else is at fault there?
I've been having the exact same problem as you. It started after I replaced the screen and the usb flex.
Ghost touches 1-2 each second only on some apps (none on homescreen or settings). I noticed that it happen in 4.4.4 app drawer but not in the 4.2.2 app drawer. I got almost no ghost touches on 4.2.2 messaging app also. It happens in almost any app, like play store, dropbox,chrome....
I thought it was the battery so I replaced it, but it did not fix it.
I have been trying to troubleshoot the problem but I ran out of theories. I wish the best luck to find the solution, as I almost gave up on it. If you happen to solve it tell me.
I think i found out what's causing this issue.
My theory was that apps with a lot of white would trigger the ghost touches. So I tested with flashlight screen apps that only show white on the screen. As expected the ghost touches only started to appear when i turned the flashlight on.
Therefore my theory was correct.
In my case I will contact the seller that sold me the screen to see if I can get a replacement.
I've had the intermittent touch screen issue, just above the capacitive buttons and also the ghost touches.
Started about 2+ weeks ago.
I reverted back to the stock "HOME" launcher instead of the Google Now launcher and that seemed to have fixed the issue.
I will have to keep an eye out to see if it lasts.

Hi everyone. this is my first post. i may make some grammar mistakes, because english is not my native language.
I found a solution for the ghost touch issue on my nexus 4, so maybe it can help who is having the same problem.
1- Download and instal the NOMone Resolution Changer on Play store
(this is my first post here, so i cant paste de link here, but you will not have trouble to find it)
2- when asked, Allow superuser
3- open the app and change the height resolution to 1250. (it worked for me, but make some tests to see if you need to disable a bigger part of the screen to avoid de problem)
This is not the best way to keep using your phone, because you may lost a part of the usable screen, but worked for me.
Thanks!
I workaround this issue avoid using undervoling in the kernel, and avoid lower temperatures in phone, yes as you read ... this issue give my crazy when my phone was to hot and I tried to cold my phone using one ice cube in screen and back, the temperature of the phone down but ghost touches appears again, so played some videos to warm the phone again and dissapear again.
Don't ask me about how it works, or relation with screen, digitizer or battery, I don't understand but help me to workaround the issue.

Nexus 6p 7.1.1 scroll lag

I'm running stock android 7.1.1 on a Nexus 6p and there's a dramatic lag in scrolling response. When the screen is scrolling quickly and I put down my finger to stop the scroll there is a huge lag before the scrolling stops. About half a second or more. It seems to occur in all apps (and even system settings menus). I've had this problem since buying the phone a couple weeks ago. It's driving me nuts. I never have this problem with my iPad, MacBook or even my ancient nexus 4. The odd thing is that if instead of just putting down my finger I drag my finger slightly (in any direction) then the lag almost disappears, but obviously that's a very awkward thing to do, especially when none of my other devices require it. Does anybody else have this problem (and hopefully a solution)?
I've talked to Google customer support. They told me to clear the cache of every app (yes that does take quite a while) and to clear the partition cache. This did not resolve the problem and now they want me to do a factory reset, which apparently is the last step before hardware warrantee measures. I'd love to know if this is a common problem.

You aren't the only person who has experienced this issue but I haven't had it happen. I don't know if anyone found a solution but if you do a search in this section you should find a thread very similar to yours with a lot of responses. I think some people experienced the issue after updating to 7.1.1

Thanks, I'll have a look. (Tried searching before but didn't find anything.)
For me the problem predates 7.1.1
I found the source of my scroll lag issue. I sometimes enable the magnification gesture in the accessibility settings (because I often use a particular transit app that has insanely small icons). I realized that when I have this setting turned on the scrolling gets laggy. Turning off the magnification gesture seems to solve the problem completely. Not sure if there's any workaround other than disabling the gesture setting.
