Hey, I'm not getting all Facebook notifications. Sometimes I get notifications like friends birthdays or that they are nearby, but I'm not interested in those. Anyways, all notifications setting in phone and in app are on, I even tried using Facebook lite version, but still same. Might there be problems with my phone, or just app? I'm adding some screenshots. Thanks for help!

Did you exclude Facebook app from battery optimization and disabled deep sleep optimization?
What was the last os version without that issue?

Don't worry, it's not an issue with our OP5 but with the application itself, currently using both Nexus 6P and OP5 and the notifications on FB are crap

Well, this is sad then. Because I need to get notifications when someone posts in particular group, but I'm not getting it (I know all setting in Facebook at good). But if I comment under that post, I get notifications that other people comment under..

A useful function of PrivacyGuard of CyanogenMod is the ability to block applications that awaken our phone or actions that require costly in terms of battery as the location.
In fact it will be curious (and you will see it yourself) such as facebook has awakened a really huge number of times your phone (for me 826 times to be exact)
- For start go on "Settings" and then "Privacy".
-Once entered, click on the 3 dots vertical and then "Advanced".

- Click on applications that do not interest you and put on "denied" to "Keep awake," "Awaken", "Auto Start" position and if you do not need.
Just keep in mind that disabling these features has the potential to cause problems on the device, especially if you do it to the wrong apps.

Thanks for INFO
Thank you Sir, definitely gonna try that out
For an even better experience, use Xposed and the module Xprivacy. Is actually the better version of this function in cm11.
Though I don't think this is exactly the same as Greenify, cause Greenify hibernates apps and I thought the dev said that's not exactly the same, but not sure.
I'm curios about that, if there is a difference. Also, there are so many apps that use location that i would of thought otherwise. Clock, gallery and contacts for example. Does anybody adjust this large amount of apps?

I only adjust the ones that I installed from playstore (Facebook, Twitter, etc). But I don't have the option, "Denied", only "Ignore". It's normal?

For me it works on Blisspop.
I am on stock cm11s 05Q and can't get this working.
Here's what I did...
I enabled shield next to google play service.
I long pressed and found automatically:
- read contact: always ask
- read calls always ask
- read calendar: always ask
- read sms: always ask
I set all the above manually to off plus:
- wake up: deny
- keep awake: deny
I went back and found the shield icon off

No, i find it a pain to set everything after installs.
Like set everything to not start at boot, run in background etc etc.
Imagine toggling everything for 60-100 apps that too after long pressing>Change toggles >Hit back and repeat.
Ok, I just received the N910FXXU1COJ3 OTA on my DBT N-910F with all the security updates. Great, but I did notice that the conveniet app manager feature that killed background processes inside Smart Manager is now gone and from the looks of things, there is a new "alternative" ambiguously called App optimization, within the battery section.
Now I for one am getting pretty tired of this inconsistency and constant feature swapping and come here seeking information. Can anyone actually clear things up for me and explain what exactly App optimization means. Will it simply kill the apps background services and if so, why is the minimum timeout 3 days? I also heard that it is more like a disable fuature for the selected apps, meaning no activity whatsoever, like notifications.
Is there any way that i can make use of the convenient "garbage collection" that Smart Manager used to offer, or am I hopelessly stuck dealing with Samsung`s ADD?
Thanks, any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Ok. I have a call recorder. It just happens to stop working after awhile. I went to app optimazation and disabled it. Does that mean now that my Call Recorder app doesn't apply to these rules and should never shut off or stop working if I disabled it for that app. It's so annoying because all of sudden your looking and your call isn't being recorded. I have to open the app...then it works again. Am I using the app optimazation option improperly?
When I bought the pro version; a message appeared explaining to disable app optimazation for the app so it continuously works. Is this right? And I'm just dealing with an app problem or I'm I not using this feature properly. I want my call recorder to always be working. [email protected]

App Optimization is Doze mode, that simple
You have to disable App Optimization for apps that should always run in background or be accessible without opening the app itself like Tesla Unread, Torchie, some reminder apps an some e-mail apps. In my expirience if an app is being optimized it will not show any notifications and such until "acitivized" by opening the app itself.

Apps that I don't need running in background and have used more battery than I think they should when in background are set to "Always power saving". Exaples: 9GAG. Previously I used Greenify for these apps.
Apps that need to stay active at all times are set to "Disable for". Examples: Reminders, Tesla Unread.
Most of other apps are set to "Automatically optimising".

i cant find some apps in the optimization list (like whatsapp) and messages comes really slowly !
Any suggestions?
Okay. Maybe I'm crazy. Maybe my phone's just not honoring my settings. But my DND mode isn't working. I have it set on a schedule to kick in everyday around 10pm and disable at 7am. I have custom exceptions for favorite contacts, alarms on, repeat callers on, but events/reminders off. I don't have any apps set for priority notifications. But I still get sound notifications for just about everything. On top of that, I still get reminders from the apps I set it on for (messaging apps, mainly SMS). Am I doing something wrong?
Mine force closes every time I attempt to go into the settings. The only way I can get it to work is by manually turning it on and off via the quick settings bar. It does work because I received e-mails, texts etc. while it was turned on and it never made a peep. I googled it, and other people are having the issue also.

I had the same problem and it miraculously started working again
I had the same problem. Started playing around with notification settings for individual apps tonight. I believe I have the settings right to avoid getting notifications when I don't want them. Here's a screen shot of one of the apps. You have to go into each app you DON'T want notifications for and set them as they are in the screen shot. Hope this helps.

UPDATE from previous post - it would appear that my advise above is garbage. I continued to get notifications even after I made changes to individual application notification settings. I'm stumped at this point. Samsung needs to address this.

I'm also upgrading, guess if they have resolved the battery drain issue
Anyone root it yet? Does the usual method per senor Heisenberg's directions work?
Post what's different guys.
7.1.1. Got a support tab in settings. Nothing but help guides. No support staff. New 'Moves' sub setting, which is where Gesture settings now live basically. Still looking for more...
Android Pay now pre-installed.
New Camera app? There's the grid options now.
New 'Restart' option when long pressing power button.
Keyboard has Gif support under emoji menu.
Not seeing anything more right now. Can't be bothered to check stock launcher as I use Apex. Sure there may be circular icons etc but I just don't care!
Seems like the battery Life improved, anyone?
I don't have the battery drain issue like 7.0

There are dozens of articles out there on what's new in 7.1.
I totally hate the support tab. It's completely useless for me, any other XDA member or even any non member with half a brain. In fact the whole settings page has gotten nasty post Marshmallow.
Otherwise things seem to be improving slightly with almost every iteration.

That's the only thing I haven't been able to get it to do so far. That and I don't have as many round icons as the pictures of pixel scenes show even though I have the pixel icons all installed and the pixel launcher
Probably a silly question, but I got the OTA when rooted. Is it safe to install it from there, or should I flash it manually (I've only modified build.prop for the Assistant and have the Pixel NavBar as a substratum theme).

This is only exclusive for Pixel Phones.
Installed it this morning. Result: No change. not a single round icon or any change!?? I am confused.
Overnight battery drain now negligible. Much better than before.

Hi guys, is anyone here still using Google maps v6?
It is still working fine, except that on this phone (s10+ Exynos) the app gets killed when running in the background.
At first i believed it to be because i had added the app to the sleep list. I had done that because the system keeps saying the app is eating up battery, even when not running.
So I removed the app from the sleep list, but it keeps getting killed.
How can i make sure that an app never gets killed when running in the background?
Try this go into settings and search optimize battery usage, and then press optimize battery usage listed. You have the options to see what is not optimize battery usage or all click all on top left and see If maps is toggled on. If so toggle off.

I have those settings now, and removed the app from the sleeping apps (again). I'm afraid the system will put it back on the 'sleep' list again because it uses a lot of battery in the background (I get regular warnings about that).
Anyone have an idea why this app would be so active while not even used?

It's v6 of Google Maps. It had a much simpler interface, and easier to use when looking for alternative routes.
And it doesn't have all that commercial baggage of the new version, which is way slower too btw.
The only thing is, why does it use battery when not even started....
