When you lock the microphone slot with your finger and talk via a Bluetooth microphone, is there a sound.
Please experiment with WhatsApp, lock the microphone slot with your finger and send an voice via a Bluetooth microphone and listen to it.
Question in another form, Does the Bluetooth microphone support third-party programs?
If the experiment is done. Did have android Pie or Oreo.?
Thanks

I've used two different Bluetooth headsets and the mic works fine. I can leave my phone in my desk drawer and walk to the other side of my house and still talk to on the phone with the Bluetooth headset. I tested this with the phone app (phone call) and Discord. No issues ever with Bluetooth, it works perfectly. Every app I test works flawlessly. This was on Android Pie as that is the only version available for the 6T here.

Hi all,
When i'm driving, my phone is always connected to the headphone jack, so i can listen to spotify over my car's radio ^^
But when i receive a call, the phone always routes the audio output to the internal speaker, which is rather useless in this situation
Is it somehow possible to route the sound to the headphone jack, when receiving a phone call? Maybe some kind of a kernel patch?
Would make a good replacement for a hands-free kit

Yes, this is something I should implement soon in Voodoo sound.
In skype, I could make voice calls using a headphone without microphone. Skype all automatically uses the built in microphone.
Now, how do we make dialer the same?

What I do to fix this problem is to use a Nokia headset adapter since Nokia uses the same 4 pin configuration as Samsung and it works.
I don't really think this can be fixed software wise... I would be pleasantly surprised if it was

Thanks for your fast response . I would also donate for such a feature. Maybe you can pm me, when it's available.
Btw, thanks for your great work. Love the Voodoo Kernel

Haven't you heard the news?
You can't make audio/video calls on Skype yet, no microphone is supported as of today.
You can only use it for IM.
apk is here

It has been said a lot about those mics in that thread, but the OP made 2 different opinions about using skype. The other users only used those mics with Voice Recording(Tape-a-talk app I think), nobody was able to make a call with skype.
Could you please share your experience with the 3 pins microphone? (I haven't got any of them so I can't try)

Crashes for me as well. I was hopeful given the threads about 3 pin mic support. I have extra headsets--if you dm I'll send you one.
I only tried voice calling the Echo / Sound Test Service, and it doesn't crash. However, it does just hang up after it rings.
I was able to launch the Skype apk attached to this thread successfully. It allowed me to make an outgoing call with the Fire and using the Edutige EIM-001 mic, but it disconnected the call a second or two after I picked up the call on my cell. I wasn't able to hear my voice when I called my cell since it disconnected so quickly. Unfortunately this is a mic only with a TRRS connector so the speakers are disconnected when it is plugged in. I am going to do some tests to see if I can rig the mic to work without causing Fire speaker disconnect. I still have to test with Google Voice.
I would be interested to know about it very much. So far I have no luck to make a call using mic
I been working on the mic problem all night. So far I think this tablet is missing something. Skype loads but wen making a call it does not see a mic at all.
Changing settings I have got the mic to work with a recorder for a test done a 20 min voice test no problems at all. But other apps like talking tom so on give error of no mic found.
Still working on this but not seeing what the problem could be.

I have a successful call using Google Voice but unfortunately only one direction
I mean I could make a call and the other party could receive this call. The problem is that I could hear what that party talk but I can't get his voice. It looks that it works only incoming direction ... but it looks to me that mic itself is ok.
Anyone has has better experience?

What are the changes that you made? Were you using a standard headset mic?
Sounds promising....
I did no changes. I used mic: Universal 3.5mm In-Ear Stereo Headset w/ On-off & Mic for , HTC myTouch 4G Unfortunately I don't have enough technical knowledge to resolve the issue although it sounds promising
I have a strange situation here. My GPS will only read aloud when I am NOT connected to Bluetooth in my car. If I am connected to bluetooth while on the phone but not actually using the Bluetooth, using the handset to talk on the phone, the GPS voice comes through the earpiece on the phone. The GPS voice works fine when I'm not connected to Bluetooth in my car. Does anybody else have this problem? Any solutions? Thanks in advance!

I too had that problem. I recently was traveling for work and needed GPS in the rental car. I almost missed my exit because the nav voice wasn't working over the car's bluetooth connection. Calls worked fine but not the nav voice....

Under Bluetooth settings can you see if you are connected as phone and media or just phone? Every once in a while mine just connects as phone for some strange reason!

Ok, today I tried my phone with two different Bluetooth devices to make sure I got music and GPS out at the same time and I did so i know the S5 is capable of it. So check to make sure your devices are actually are connected as phone and media when paired next time just to make sure.I know my Motorola roadster2 sometimes only connects as phone even though it is set up as both, I usually have to reboot both the phone and and my roadster to get it to connect as both fir what ever reason. I hope that helps, if not I am at a loss!
I tested this the other day, and it works fine for me. I am using a Kenwood DNX8120 head unit, and it is connected with the S5 with both the headset and media bluetooth profiles. Note that the head unit needs to be on the bluetooth input for me to hear it since it is using the media profile for the GPS voice. If it is on another input (i.e. tuner, CD), you won't hear the phone's GPS.
Still nothing. I cleared my cars system memory and repaired the phone. The weird thing is that it was working when I got the phone a few weeks ago. It worked for a week, then all of a sudden stopped.
A tad bit late, but here nonetheless

I know this is an old thread, but I wonder if you were listening to bluetooth audio or not. If you weren't listening to bluetooth audio on your car radio, then you wouldn't hear the voice navigation prompts. Unfortunately I don't believe voice navigation works like the phone.
The phone will mute any audio currently playing and automatically switch to the phone.
The nav audio works through bluetooth audio only. It doesn't mute anything so unless you are listening to bluetooth audio you won't hear the prompts (they are there, but you aren't listening to the source where they come through).
I think the solution as stated was to turn off Bluetooth media profile so it only comes out of your phone and leave on bluetooth call audio profile so it comes through the car.

I dont really use earbuds to much but had older samsung buds and was using them. Received a call and realized I cant answer and calls, also cannot control spotify at all. The single button on the mic does work but the play only brings up the app selector which is only google or moto voice. I tried using headset control apps like JAYS but no dice. I know I have other earbuds around but cant find them to try. Does anyone else have issues with ear bud control with the play? Do I need to use a specific type of buds?
Thanks.

Hi. I realize that my Redmi Note 7 always use the phone microphone. When I connect my headphones, the sound plays in my headphones, but if I record a Whatsapp audio it uses the phone microphone instead of headphones microphone. And I also tried with a friend's Redmi Airdots S and same thing, earbuds works but can't use the mic for record wpp audio, it always use the build-in mic.
It's annoying, cause now I'm using a true wireless earbuds and I can't record a whatsapp audio without the phone in my hands... Kinda the whole point of a wireless earbuds.
Already:
- Re-pair
- Reboot after pair
- Clean all devices from bt list.
Info:
Redmi Note 7
ROM: Latest official global ROM
MIUI version: Global 11.0.1
Android Version: 10
Earbuds: Haylou GT1 plus

Probably. Anyway, did you try recording your voice in a different app? If the other app works that'd mean this is WA bug or may be just not compatible with WA.
Try few things-
1. record voice in WA and a different app with earbud.
Check the results. If earbud works in diff app, than blame WA.
2. record voice in WA and a different app with an wired headset.
Check the results. If wired headeet works in both apps, blame earbud.

1. Same results. I tried to record a sound with Audio Recorder and used the buil-in mic too.
2. It actually worked. Using wired headset, it uses the headset mic. But I can't blame the earbud, it's brand new, and I tried with Airdots S too and neither worked. I mean, the wireless headsets have a mic cause it can be used, but my phone thinks it can't.
Great Tip.
Thanks for sharing this tip. This was so simple, yet i didn't thought of it
I am facing the same problem with my Redmi Earbuds. I hope this tip helps me to identify where the fault lies.
