Scrolling issue - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone. I got my OP5 a few days ago and realized that the screen isn't working properly, apart from the jelly screen issue. Does anyone know if this is fixable or I need to replace the screen. I'll leave a video showing what I mean

I want to leave that as the last resource. Got it from another country, and sending it back costs a lot. Maybe knowing if the problem is the screen or the GPU can save me a couple of bucks

Have you tried to update the OS?

It has the latest version of OOS, but I'm starting to think that the problem isn't software related
EDIT: If anyone knows if this issue is solved by replacing the screen, please let me know

Are you currently on the stock ROM?
Yes T-mobile Stock rom 3.14
Have you considered trying one of the custom WinMo 6.5 ROMs? If this is an issue with the stock ROM or any recent updates then I'm certain the chefs in the WinMo 6.5 section have addressed it.
I'm on tytung's NexusHD2-Gingerbread V3.0 currently and have been flashing different Android ROMs since I got my HD2 Just some food for thought.
I upgraded my ROM from T-mobile center but still no effect and im abit of new in this and i dont know how to do cooked ROM's and i dont want to brick my HD2 :S
Have you tried a hard reset (factory restore)?
You will need to backup your contacts etc first but this will fix any software issue you have.
If the problem persists after that, it is something more serious.
Yes already did 4 times!!! and backed up all my stuff with PIM Back up
anyone help?
Sounds like a hardware problem. this is a warranty issue.
also, you might have selected something wrong in the gsm/cdma settings, check your network settings.

Well, if your phone is out of warranty, and you don't have insurance, I am sorry to say you are out of luck. This must be a hardware issue.

Touchscreen problem

The top part of the touchscreen is not working at all.
I can not drag the notification down, ect.
Anyone has this kind of problem or know how to fix it?

I have a similar issue. Some users reported that Touchscreen Booster from the Marketplace helped. Give that a shot. It says its for the SGS but install it anyways, select "super optimized" and hit apply.
Unfortunately for me, it doesnt do a thing. I actually think I figured out whats causing my phone to screw up. Whenever its hot/humid outside, thats when it starts to glitch. For instance. I was watching a movie through the HDMI cable. The phone is overclocked to 1.3Ghz, so about 45 minutes in the phone was getting hot. It was in a Otterbox case as well which doesnt help. It randomly started showing the progress bar and disappearing. Once I took the case off, and let the phone sit for a bit it started to work fine again.
I have a new digitizer on order and hopefully that will fix the issues. Hopefully for you it isnt hardware like mine!
it doesnt work for me either.
I found out more spots are being unresponsive.
>.<
anyone?
Its a gingerbread issue

I had this problem in my wifes Atrix. Sad to say, it was a hardware problem. No software fixed it. Replace it if you can while you are under warranty.
It sounds to me like it could be a digitizer problem

Try installing different roms to check if its not just a software-bug. if that doesnt work your digitizer is probably broken.

sorry to bring bad news mate, but my first guess would be that your digitizer has failed. Unfortunately it's a relatively common problem with the Nexus 4. To rule out easily the software, just boot the phone in recovery mode and check if the touch screen responds properly in there. If not, i wouldn't even bother flashing other roms or doing a factory reset: your only option remains sending it in for repairs... or you could always try replacing the screen by yourself.
Here are some other threads that deal with the issue:

There are also a lot of similar problems reported on google's official product forum.

[Q] [D802] Touch Screen uncalibrated after flashing

I've looked everywhere but haven't found a proper solution. I have an international D802 which after a lot of effort I was able to flash to KK but the touchscreen no longer functions properly - eg pressing one area would register one or more touches in anther area making it impossible to use the phone. If anyone has any idea to fix this please let me know. I have tried various roms including going back to a JB rom and the problem persists.
Thank you.

Hi, I had an issue like this when I flashed the wrong tot file. It went away upon using the right one. whatever method you used, did you make sure to use the right files?

Anything worked for you?
I think we have following options:
1. Use mouse via USB otg to get to debugging mode to turn on adb than flash recovery and rom
2. Use mouse via USB otg to update the touchscreen driver via the hidden menu
3. Warranty
Can you get your device in adb mode?
Just managed to install recovery using autorec and lots of patience however touchscreen issues persist even in recovery (the touches are not accurate in recovery) so i think i will need to flash kernel as i think thats where the touchscreen drivers are.
Managed to flash CloudyG3. Still no good. The thing is that the touch is broken in CWM which means that its not the ROM, it's something else. I don't really understand the technical aspects but flashing Cloudy also flashes the kernel. Almost given up on this, too much time sunk.

I also had same issue and I flashed alot of different .KDZ and other custom ROMs too but the problem was always there.. so I went to the repair shop and he said that its a problem of eMMC chip so that needs to be fixed.. I have given the phone to him to fix it ...

Did you guys try updating the touchscreen firmware via the hidden menu? This is so frustrating, I've rooted/romed at least 5 phones/tablets and this is the first time Ive bricked something.

I am trying to go to the hidden menu and its not working at all .. So I will just have the touch replaced
I am not entirely convinced its the screen to be honest. I feel like replacing the screen does nothing about the software which control its behaviour. Just my 2c - if you want to go ahead with it perhaps get them to take responsibility - e.g., I replace the screen on your advice and if it doesn't fix the problem I shouldn't have to pay for the screen otherwise you might be throwing your money at a problem which we dont necessarily know the cause of.
Edit: Get a lgd panel not a jdi.
