roll back to Oreo? What are you running right now then?
If you mean roll back to Nougat then yeah, just download the official b35 package, get the update.zip from inside the zip, and put it in the root of the internal storage, then go to Updates and it should appear
If it doesn't put it in an SD card and install it from the recovery
Also, G Oreo probably has support for your language, if you want to stay on stock+ firmware just flash oreo B03 from the G, but remember to flash the U modem

Hey, I'm having the same problem when I try to roll back from Oreo. I tried putting the update.zip in both internat and external storage but the updates just fails, even from recovery.

Try enabling USB debugging, I don't recall if it was needed or not for the recovery update but it might be. If it fails you'll have to go EDL Tool, simply get it from the ROMs, kernels, development section and also download the B35 EDL package from there. Flash the package and you're done.

So,
My phone is vns-l21c66b131 and is there any way to update to newer versions without rooting and if possible can someone write steps on how to do it?
If you use <SEARCH> you find followings:
<After a few day of reading users personal experiences regarding upgrade to Android 7 Nougat i make the big step myself...
My device is VNS-L21 model and entire process goes flawless...
Device state was stock MM VNS-L21C432B150, bootloader lock, dualsim enabled.
1. Unlock bootloader folowing by Automatic Factory Reset.
2. Flash TWRP
3. From TWRP i flash Meticulus TWRP
4. Reboot to TWRP and flash update.zip and update_data_full_VNS-L31_hw_eu.zip, both flash ends with errors, without reboot between flashes.
5. After that, i reboot device and boot in system ok, start configuration, etc.
6. I reboot to fastboot and flash Nougat Recovery reworked by @BadWolfYe
I am not experienced camera bug, all works fine and i have now a fully functional phone.
BTW, dualsim remain enabled and works both sims.
Thanks to all contributors for these pieces of firmware, first of all to @BadWolfYe!>
For that's is <SEARCH>, not to open another topic for same problem...
Thanks for the reply, but I'm not talking about Nougat, I talk about MM b161 update. How to do it if my carrier is c66 and the newest update there is b131

If you want to stay on C66 you have to wait to OTA updates...
If you make any upgrade via dload folder on sdcard your phone will go from C66 to C900 (global)
Another alternative is to debrand your phone to C432 (hw eu)
For any of this is treated here in some topics...
So I just need to create dload folder and put the zip there?

Not the zip! Put the update.app wich is in the zip, for this method.
The zip is ok for update from TWRP.

Anyone can give a link for a flashable zip for the latest rom for the ZTE Axon A2017 (chinese) variant. Greatly appreciated.

why do you want a flashable zip? If you have an A2017 you can simply flash a stock recovery then put the official ROM on an SD card and install it (there's an option that says 'sd' between the Chinese ideograms) and you'll have OTA support (B08 just came some days ago).
If you still want the zip I guess you can use the one on Kernels, ROMs, Recoveries (something about MiFavor 5). Keep in mind that the dev deleted the stock browser and you don't have Play stuff unless you install it, AND you need to format data to get rid of the encryption which wipes out your internal storage, so you'd need to sideload a browser with your PC. And after that you can install the google stuff. OpenGApps don't work, you need a manual install / with an app.

I have the G - only have the link to the G recovery. But there should be a flashable stock recovery for the A2017 around, just google some. Be REALLY careful with the model though, nasty things might happen if you install another model's recovery!
If you find the flashable zip file can you send the link to me? I will add it to my guide if you find it, hopefully make it compatible with the Chinese.
They will put the download link in this link below soon. And if you are already on A2017V1.1.0B17, you can get A2017V2.0.0B08(MiFavor 5.0) through OTA. What version are you right now?

So flash B17 zip through recovery. and you get B08(MiFavor 5) through OTA. If it gives you error flashing B17 , then download B13 from that link and try if it works

You can't flash the official zip with TWRP though, you need the TWRP flashable ones. Just saying
Or use the custom B06 ROM and be done with it, it has no bugs
I have a new (3 day) that updated to b25. Was and is totally stock. Not happy.
Mar was way better on battery and performance. I have downloaded and renamed
b15 factory ota and placed in the sdcard. System update reports a valid update but before I
commit to doing this I wanted to verify with the community that it is safe to do.
After I do this update I am wondering if I can find a factory ota of mar if I can do the same thing again.
Thanks in advance

It's really simple actually: if you install B15 your data will be wiped, after that just skip everything and update to B29 (is B29 the latest? I have a G, dunno) and then use it. What you describe is not the actual performance that it should have, it's your specific case obviously.
I know what you want to do - if you want to remain TOTALLY STOCK I think you are out of options as I don't know anywhere that you can still download the stock ZTE B29 marshmallow. If you are willing to unlock your bootloader and install TWRP then somewhere in here DrakenFX has a B29 rollback that works great - it just won't work with stock recovery

All I really want is to remain stock but rooted and with TWRP for recovery for Nandroid backups. The B25 will not let me unlock the bootloader with Fastboot and when running MiFlash the phone is visible but getting "Hello packet error" I have read another method with fastboot but have not tried it yet (below). Somewhere I read that B25 was the problem and you had to downgrade and the MiFlash method was recommended.
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot reboot
I did everything but the first entry.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Go ahead with your rollback to B15 - that will let you unlock and install TWRP. Once you have TWRP go to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-guide-updates-to-stock-files-via-t3469484 and in post #2 you will find A2017UV1.0.0B29_RollBackModded.zip. Flash that, then flash TWRP again (you have to flash TWRP again ONLY if you want to keep TWRP as this flash file will automatically reinstall stock recovery). Also note on B29 I had to use SuperSU 2.65 (not the current one) for root.

Wait - you wanted to stay stock? You didn't actually have to unlock if you wanted to. Just by using the update.zip method with some Marshmallow zip you could get to MM, and then you can update to N and you surely won't get the same problems that you've been having...
For example my G is on 7.1.1 and I get 6h+ of battery (right now, 3h36m with 41% left) so your problem is just that your installation was bad. If you unlocked you might as well just do the process that the guy above described though.

OK on the A2017U units you need the official marshmallow B29 package to roll back, and that only works with stock recovery on a clean B15 N install. The Rollback package I told you to use earlier will roll you back to B29 marshmallow NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE USING (I have used this a lot, and OBVIOUSLY there are differences between the the A2017U version in North America and the A2017G version in Europe). If you want stock and rooted, I personally recommend B29 marshmallow over B15 Nougat, but either way go for it (I think the marshmallow had a much better radio than any of the Nougat packages). If you are interested in TWRP and root, I found B29 marshmallow much easier for both, and the marshmallow version of android also gives you Xposed, but back to your first post, you mentioned wanting marshmallow, and this is the best way to get it.
Step by Step method
1. Roll back to B15. Use the update.zip method. It will factory reset your device so backup everything you can't lose
2. Use MiFlash to unlock and install TWRP - check that thread on XDA for instructions.
3. (If desired) In TWRP, install the B29 marshmallow rollback. Do not reboot into system afterwards.
4. (If step 3 is done) In TWRP, flash TWRP. The marshmallow rollback will overwrite recovery with stock recovery
If you do this you will have exactly what you wanted in your original post. I can personally tell you this works, as I have tried every custom rom on here and always wind up back at B29 marshmallow when all is said and done. It has never failed me, and it will never fail you either.
I have an Axon 7 European version ZTEA2017GV1.1.0B1
It has some bugs, for example the weird Google problem I still haven't solved. Since the Nougat update 7.1.1 is available, is there any way I could upgrade my phone from android 7.0 to 7.1.1? I tried to find links for .zip files but couldn't find any. I'd like to see if those bugs go away with the update, but some things I read said that I can't upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1... Help would be much appreciated.

If you've been using the phone a while and have plenty of user data, or have issues, for best results you should do a factory reset first to clear it of any junk and have maximum memory available. Backup your data. Also backup your call and message data. Make sure it's charged. Put the zip on the root of the SD card and go to updates in settings and point it to the zip file. It may find and run it on a reboot too. I can't remember.
You could also download the B04 zip and overwrite it first?
Australia has B10 MM and now B11 MM then you can update to B04 Nougat.
B08 seems only available from Germany. Still not sure whether I'll update to B08 or stay on B04 till we see if ZTE give us Oreo.
Here's the open device firmware page. Don't use A2017 or A2017U firmwares on an A2017G phone. Same goes for other models using the wrong firmware. The cellular support will be messed up and then need to fix it. Probably ruins partitioning too. Easiest just to use the correct firmwares.
The B11 MM zip seems also able to rollback to MM from Nougat.

I checked the update history and it says the phone has been updated from B10 to B01? Is B01 a newer version then?
And could you instruct further how to do that .zip thing, last time I tried it didn't work even though I put the file to the root of the internal sd card. Do I need a removable sd card in order for the updating to work or what went wrong? I have mifavor 4.2 but it's B01.1. should it be like that?
B10 was MM and sounds like B01 is an old Nougat.
Should be able to directly update to B04 or B08 from B01.
Even B04 is MiFavor 4.2 still. Probably need B08 to get to MiFavor 5.
Did you have the actual update zip file extracted out of the main downloaded zip?
Update.zip, not the whole lot with PDF etc. Should be on an SD card. I haven't tried it using internal storage. Did both mine from SD.
How do I go back to stock rom? I'm currently using Rei's LineageOS 14.1 of CodeOfHonor, with Meticulus' TWRP installed.
My original version is VNS-L31C636 Dual Sim. I have tried searching in the forum to no avail. All the instructions I've found are either too unclear or lacks more details. Is there any other way for going back to stock? I have a limited data plan and it would cost me so much data for downloading Marshmallow firmware and then OTA updating to Nougat.
