I see in the past the Merge Tabs option was tied to this (cant find it anymore) and that a home page option was also tied to it (unclear).
Has anyone found a way to get chrome to close as you closed the last open tab?

Stupid question I know, but when you open the browser, is there no one click other than opening bookmarks that will just go to your homepage, and also is there a refresh button?
I've not been able to find either. The lack of refesh is very annoying when you are looking at thing like football results.
no, as shown in another thread, there is no home button. like you said, use bookmarks, or open a new window. Daft but that's what were stuck with at the moment.
As for refresh button, yes there is.
press menu to show the address bar at the top, and on the right of the address bar is a button that changes from refresh (when a page is loaded) to stop (while a page is loading)
Thanks..
Strange they let you set up and change the homepage but not the most basic function of getting there. As most of the time it's left on the last page you were on and doesn't revert to home? Oh well. Another one for the updates.
As a sidenote, how do you guys feel about the applications you download having access to :
Phone calls, read phone state
Hardware controls
Network Communications, full internet access
etc
etc
Why would something like Shazam need all this info about phone calls in particular
I have igoogle as my homepage, all i do is put a shortcut for igoogle from bookmarks on my homescreen and use that as my browser.

How do you rearrange the bookmarks in your favorites by dragging? I see that you can hit that little icon on the bottom middle of the page when viewing your favorites and arrange the icons alphabetically, by time viewed, etc., but I used to be able to rearrange them any way I wanted by dragging and dropping. Did that go away with the latest update?

I emailed Boat support the same question and no answer yet. But I found it on my own.
Go to the Home page that shows the speed dial bookmarks and long press on the very first icon (it didn't happen when I just long pressed on the page itself), and a Manage scareen appears. Click Manage and then you can drag things around.
My bigger problem with Boat, however, is that it uploaded automatically to a new version and now it CRASHES within a minute no matter which web site I am on.
I Uninstalled and reinstalled Boat but within a few minutes, the crashing reoccurred.
In face all of my browsers, except Chrome, seem to be crashing now.
I may have to do a Factory Reset but it's a hassle to reload all my bookmarks again.

That moves the speed dial icons around but I am talking about the bookmarks. That doesn't seem to work for the bookmarks.
Bummer about the crashes. Boat works OK for me except the loss of ability to move my bookmarks around.
Hi All
I've just (stupidly?) upgraded the firmware on my Galaxy Note 3 to the new 4.4.2. I use the built-in web browser and have discovered that despite being able to have a number of windows open simultaneously (I currently have nine according to the tab in the top right corner), I'm only able to preview a maximum of four and can no longer scroll through all the open pages and tap on the one I want to access. If I close a page, one that I already have open pops up at the bottom, and if I open a new page, the oldest one gets bumped from the list but seems to still be open.
I've been through the settings available and can't seem to find any options to change this. Has anyone experienced this and knows how to fix it? Otherwise I'm open to any suggestions
Thank you!
- am.
It actually annoys me that tabs continue to build up over tab as well as that default home page always being opened in addition to clicking on a link, is there anyway to stop this from happening and to kill all tabs quickly?

Hey everyone,
So this has been bugging me for a while and I need to ask.
When I click on a link in say Reddit or worse Facebook, why can't it just open in the regular old Chrome browser? The same browser that opens when I click on the chrome icon in the app drawer.
When I open a link in Reddit (Relay for Reddit) it opens the page in a stripped down version of chrome it appears. Many features are missing and worse it makes the application in my recents menu show as the browser page not the apps. So if I want to go back to the app and keep the website open in chrome I have to click the menu button, hit open in browser, then go back to the Relay app, then hit the back button to get back to browsing reddit. I'd love it if when I clicked a Reddit link it just opened up as a new tab in Chrome.
Facebook is a whole other mess, it adds one more stripped down useless browser on top of the chrome one. Both are "powered by chrome" I believe... Today I wanted to save a meme I saw on a article posted on facebook. I opened the link, it opens in the facebook powered by google browser, I long press the picture annnnd nothing, I click menu>open in browser, I long press the picture annnnd nothing, I click menu open in browser ONE MORE TIME, it opens in the regular chrome app, I long press the picture and all my option for saving the image are finally there.
Is there any way to fix this? I know I may end up with a ton of useless tabs open, but I'm ok with that.
Well, yes. Mostly that's handled by the app and you can change the settings there. In Relay go to Settings / Behaviour. The top option, web links. Select Open comments and links externally. Any web link (like a TIL post, for example) will open in chrome. You can change them all to that, or just whichever you prefer.
For Facebook, Far right side, the 3-line hamburger menu / APP settings / Links open externally
For Google Search / Google App / Settings / Accounts & Privacy / Open web pages in app. Disable this and pages will load on the external browser.

Thank you so much, guess I should have thought to look there
