I'm used to phones charging if plugged in... even when in TWRP Recovery. But I've noticed my Oneplus 2 does not charge in TWRP and in fact seems to discharge at a rate faster than when the phone's OS is running. Is this just me or regular behavior with TWRP and this phone?

Hi there! I have a Canadian Galaxy Note 4 on Eastlink and I am having a bootloop issue where the phone boots up perfectly if the charger is connected. But the moment the charger is unplugged, the phone immediately restarts without warning and keeps bootlooping. I have tried the following:
1. Complete wipe using TWRP and flashing all the stock images from sammobile one by one. No luck.
2. New Battery
3. CM13 official.
No luck. The phone will stay ON forever in download/recovery mode without the charger. But won't boot system until the charger is connected. Anyone have this issue before?
After flashing a Note 7 port, i started noticing charging issues with my S7 Edge. Battery won't charge to more than 60/70%. After unplugging the charger, the battery will drain down to 44/43% in about 20-30mins, then drain normally. Current battery percentage is also very inconsistent. The OS might show 50%, while TWRP shows 35% and the status while the phone is off shows 40%.
Tried going back to a S7 Edge based rom, same behaviour. Ended up flashing completely stock firmware from samsung via Odin. Still the same behavior.
Anyone experienced this? And if so, any fix? Running out of ideas

(Goto settings>backup and reset) do a factory reset then do a hard reset then flash the latest stock firmware you could find.
If problem still persists try recalibrate the battery by an app search for battery recalibrate app.
Reason for factory reset via the menu is to wipe phone memory clean then do a hard reset through recovery menu by booting in recovery to prepare it for a clean firmware flash via ODIN.
Good luck

I get this '' starting apps'' each time i reboot (not optimizing app x of xxx) . I tried clearing System Cache but didn't help.
Also my phone's battery is draining very quickly since 2-3 days. Any solution to this?
It stops charging if disturb the cable a bit ehile the charging led notification still blinks. When i connect it to a power bank and do the same, the charging indicator on the powerbank still blinks while my phone doesn't show charging (as in no charging sign on the battery indicator or '' xx% charging '' on the lockscreen).
also, I'm using the stock rom OxygenOS 3.1.0.
Same here. Using 100% stock rom, only root and Adaway installed, it appear also without root.
I believe there are many who are facing the same issue. I for one Factory Reset my phone and OTA to 3.1.0, performed a clean flash, performed a TWRP flash, wiped Dalvic, Cache, Data but none of these solutions helped. So I am back to 3.0.2 until another bug fix patch is released.
Guys yesterday I format my phone and internal memory too, then I flashed OOS 3.1.0 full zip now I'm facing phone charging issue. Now phone is not charging properly when the charger is connected. It's charging status is disconnecting and connecting automatically. Any solution for this ? Or please tell me fastboot flashing OS procedure.

Hey Guys,
My phone gets stuck in a bootloop if I don't use a charger while turning it on. Actually, doesn't even get past the splash screen and reboots every 1 to 2 seconds. I also need to connect it to the charger to access TWRP. Normally, when I disconnect the charger after the phone has turned on, the phone suddenly turns off. But when I do the same when I'm in TWRP, nothing happens and I can continue using it without any problems. I'll put the logs if you neeed. And yes, I don't need the charger to get into fastboot mode. I'm currently on lineage 15.1 unofficial but the problem persists over other roms too. Please help...
Change the battery
It's the battery , which is under performing with the voltage needed to run the rom process,
That's why you are able to use with charger and got bootloop without charger. In twrp or any recovery mode most of the hardware is disabled and does not need much power.
Telling you with personal experiences

Thanks!! It worked.. I got my battery replaced and not my phone is as good as new ?
I have an S5 with stock Samsung ROM which I rooted some years ago with Magisk and TWRP recovery. For the last few years it has only been used as an alarm clock and I have forgotten how I set it all up in the first place, in fact I had forgotten that I ever rooted it. Up until now it has been working fine but I wanted to give it to my 9 year old daughter to use, so I did a factory reset on it through the normal Android menu. After that the phone works but will only charge in Recovery, not when its off or when its booted normally. Same cable and charger that I have been using up until now and I also tried others but didn't make any difference.
When the phone is off and I plug in the charger,it vibrates, the battery symbol comes up for a second and it displays the message "set warranty bit: kernel" then the screen goes off. The charging LED does not come on. Then after about 10 sec it does the same thing again: vibrate, battery symbol, message, screen off and just keeps going round that loop but never charges. When the phone is booted in normal mode it doesn't seem to detect the charger at all, nothing happens. In Recovery it charges perfectly but its a bit inconvenient!
I tried restoring the last TWRP backup that I had which seemed to contain all the partitions but it hasn't made any difference to the charging problem. It seems the phone has power and CAN charge but is deciding not to. Any ideas please how I can get it back into operation?
Model: SM-G901F
Android 6.0.1
Kernel 3.10.40-9709634
Build MMB29M.G901FXXU1CRH1
Magisk 19.3
Magisk Manager 7.3.4
Magisk version is old but I have not attempted to update it yet in case that makes the situation worse.

Never mind, I got it working with a different charger. Very strange. The first charger works fine with my Huawei P20, maybe too high power for the S5? Although I thought the device only draws the power it needs even if the charger is capable of more.
