sm-935f battery issues after flashing N7 Port - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

After flashing a Note 7 port, i started noticing charging issues with my S7 Edge. Battery won't charge to more than 60/70%. After unplugging the charger, the battery will drain down to 44/43% in about 20-30mins, then drain normally. Current battery percentage is also very inconsistent. The OS might show 50%, while TWRP shows 35% and the status while the phone is off shows 40%.
Tried going back to a S7 Edge based rom, same behaviour. Ended up flashing completely stock firmware from samsung via Odin. Still the same behavior.
Anyone experienced this? And if so, any fix? Running out of ideas

Click to collapse
(Goto settings>backup and reset) do a factory reset then do a hard reset then flash the latest stock firmware you could find.
If problem still persists try recalibrate the battery by an app search for battery recalibrate app.
Reason for factory reset via the menu is to wipe phone memory clean then do a hard reset through recovery menu by booting in recovery to prepare it for a clean firmware flash via ODIN.
Good luck

(Should i flash the kernel)Problm GalaxySV draing batt while charging also gets hot

Hi i got this problem ever since i flash new stock firnware. Whenever i charge my galaxy s5 it goes really hot. The batt indicator is decreasing n not charging. I tried a diff cable , battery and usb charger but the problem still occurs. If i go to ultra power saving mode then the phone charges up fine.Ive flashed my phone 3 times in total Using odin. When i first flashed it i downgrade firnware from July 14 to April 14. I had Philz touch recovery then n cleared the cache n whiped davik cache.
The batt was still draining and got hot so i flashed it to Nov 2014 firmware. When i flashed it the 2nd time i forgot to clear application data and davik cache. Booted it didnt let me so i realised this n "reset phone to factory settings". i then flashed it with the same Nov 14 firmware. And that is where im at now. Phone goes hot doesnt charge unless i put it in ultra powersave mode.
I think its a software issue that might be causing it not to charge.
Do you think flashing kernel would fix it? What kernel is good for my fone?
Thanks for reading

[Q] 5.1 Update killed my N4.Boots/Works only when Plugged In,else Turns Off

N4 boots only with external power. On Battery it Turns Off. At first, it only happened if there was a SIM card inserted. The Battery never had any issue before this update. Any idea what could cause this issue? Did the 5.1 Update fry my precious phone? It did get really Hot.
Phone Details:
Nexus 4
Unlocked bootloader, Not Rooted, Stock
Installed factory image of Android 5.0
Sideloaded 5.0.1 using adb
Installed 5.1 using OTA with 750MB free space.
Solutions Tried:
1) Factory Reset in 5.1
2) Flashed factory image of 5.0.1 successfully
3 )Safe Mode
4) Wipe& Clear Cache/Factory Reset
5) Upgrading to 5.1 OTA using adb sideload cmd
Update: Also Tried the following using NRT
6) Re-locking Bootloader (OEM Lock)
7) Downgrading to 4.2.2 (JDQ39)
8) Upgrading to 4.4.4 (KTU84P)
9) Unlocked Root and installed TWRP
10) Unrooted Bootloader and flashed Stock 5.1
11) Drained the battery by leaving it at the bootloader screen.--> Result: Red Light of Death.
Observations:
Managed to boot the phone after the Red Light Of Death while plugged in to 2A port of an external battery. Its been over an hour still says 5% Charge and 3 Hrs until Full.
While trying to do a Nandroid backup with compression in TWRP running on battery, CPU temperature increased from 45C to 55C and it shutdown. The same options with external battery works even though CPU temp goes up to 63C. Battery was at 93%.
The Issue:
After Installing the 5.1 OTA from 5.0.1, My Nexus 4 keeps shutting down even if the battery is charged 100%. There is no battery drain.
At first, I thought it happened only when the phone switched from 3G to 2G network. Since, It worked fine using 3G network or Airplane Mode. But Now, the phone doesn't get through the Google icon at the bootloader and just shuts down if its running on battery.
Unless Its plugged in to a charger or external power source there’s no way of getting the phone started. The phone worked fine if there is no SIM card inserted or in Airplane mode even if you disconnect the external power. But, if you try to restart again it fails to boot up on battery power.
Upgrading Process:
I received the OTA notification for 5.1. Due to insufficient space, phone would not download the update file. So, I deleted ~150 photos while it was downloading. I had approx. 750MB free space and 70% battery. This caused the phone to heat up (deleting/downloading) and reducing the battery power. I used an external power bank while the phone started the upgrading process. I disconnected the power when it completed. The phone successfully booted up and started optimizing applications after which it shutdown immediately. I powered it up and was checking what’s new in 5.1 when it shutdown again even though there was like 30-40% charge. After this “The Issue” started.(Refer above)
It was the Battery!!!
I'm guessing, It ignores the battery temperature sensor while upgrading or it could leave the device bricked. Thus, leading to The End of Days of my battery
It was the weekend, so the only option I had was to pull my hair and try all possible software methods.
So good to have my phone back. Only wish I had taken a Nandroid backup

Samsung Galaxy S5- Phone Shut Off Randomly. Won't Boot Unless Plugged In

Random crash and Boot loop
i have a samsung s5 with lollipop installed.
The phone seems to randomly turn off.
The phone enters a boot loop until i plug the charger in.
It has happened several times, but i don't know how to reproduce the error.
It doesn't seem to be app specific, but it has crashed while using the following apps.
... When using the camera
... When using chrome
... When using VR zeiss
I have tried the following, but none of these have worked for me.
1. Wiped cache partition x??
2. Factory reset x2
3. Safe mode
4. Battery calibration, charged phone to 100% while off
Has anyone had a similar issue and been able to solve it?
Try download the official rom T-mobile and put in your device with odin.
i had the same problem. i flashed official stock firmware for s5 with odin and it fixed my random shut down and battery problems.
Get a new battery you probably got water damage

SM-N910W8 Charger Bootloop issue

Hi there! I have a Canadian Galaxy Note 4 on Eastlink and I am having a bootloop issue where the phone boots up perfectly if the charger is connected. But the moment the charger is unplugged, the phone immediately restarts without warning and keeps bootlooping. I have tried the following:
1. Complete wipe using TWRP and flashing all the stock images from sammobile one by one. No luck.
2. New Battery
3. CM13 official.
No luck. The phone will stay ON forever in download/recovery mode without the charger. But won't boot system until the charger is connected. Anyone have this issue before?

'' Starting Apps'' appear on every boot and battery issues

I get this '' starting apps'' each time i reboot (not optimizing app x of xxx) . I tried clearing System Cache but didn't help.
Also my phone's battery is draining very quickly since 2-3 days. Any solution to this?
It stops charging if disturb the cable a bit ehile the charging led notification still blinks. When i connect it to a power bank and do the same, the charging indicator on the powerbank still blinks while my phone doesn't show charging (as in no charging sign on the battery indicator or '' xx% charging '' on the lockscreen).
also, I'm using the stock rom OxygenOS 3.1.0.
Same here. Using 100% stock rom, only root and Adaway installed, it appear also without root.
I believe there are many who are facing the same issue. I for one Factory Reset my phone and OTA to 3.1.0, performed a clean flash, performed a TWRP flash, wiped Dalvic, Cache, Data but none of these solutions helped. So I am back to 3.0.2 until another bug fix patch is released.
Guys yesterday I format my phone and internal memory too, then I flashed OOS 3.1.0 full zip now I'm facing phone charging issue. Now phone is not charging properly when the charger is connected. It's charging status is disconnecting and connecting automatically. Any solution for this ? Or please tell me fastboot flashing OS procedure.
