I think i have a brick, adn the only thing that it will do is that the LED will light up solid red when I plug it into the wall...
I can't find any info on what that red light really means... hopefully its just "really dead trashed battery"...
my unbricked g1 does this when it's simply charging...

I see only marginal humor in that...
Mine always did a yellow/orange light when charging....
Solid red means the phone is charging while off.
From my experience, I actually think it is red when you run it below 20% or something like that, then it turns orange when it is in mid-charge and full green above 90%

When the phone is ON:
Green=85-100%
Orange=25-85%
Red=0-25%
When phone is OFF:
Red=0-99%
Green=100%

if your phone didn't charge then i would see that you might have a problem.
red, orange, green... kinda like a stoplight. get the picture?
if your phone shutdown during your use and was due to no more charge in the battery, then you plug it in, it'll most definitely be a red light when charging because you have little to no charge left in the battery.
Hey all,
Can anybody give me the low down on the charge light on the tf dock? As in what Color light means what? I got my dock in before the pad, charging the dock now and I misplaced the manual that outlined what light color/flashing means what.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
The manual that is included with the transformer explains wht each color represents.
I can try to remember what they were. If someone would be kind enough to correct me or add as needed to help the OP out that'd be great.
1. Rapidly blinking orange represents less than 10% of battery life
2. Blinking orange represents under 50%
3. Blinking green is >90% but <50%
4. Solid green represents a fully charged dock.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
Thanks for the response. I remember there was a light code for less than 3% power, not sure what that is. I think solid red was for less than 10%.. I cant seem to pull the info on google.. Silly me, should have kept the manual that came with the dock. I didnt see anything in the TF manual about the light on the dock.

Has anyone had issues with their dock not holding a charge. I had my pad on the dock with the charger attached overnight. Using the tablet today, i have used it for maybe 3-4 hours total. My tablet is showing 52% charge and the light on the dock is flashing red. Doesnt seem like it is holding a charge nor is it charging the pad any longer.

I had exactly the same issue today. I just charged the dock separately and now it seems ok.
When I unplugged the charger however (because it gets very hot if you just leave it plugged in) I heard a very high pitched almost inaudible whine from the charger. I hope this is nothing.
How are you guys telling that the dock is fully charged? As mentioned above, mine just shows a red light continuously when plugged in and the tablet is fully charged. Its been plugged in about 6 hours now.

So does mine. I just assume its charged up enough after a few hours and it seems to be fine.
As requested by the OP here is the bit from the manual on lights.
"
Green ON: Battery power is between 95% and 100%
Orange ON: Battery power is less than 95%
Orange Blinking: Battery power is less than 10%
Orange Blinking quickly: Battery power is less than 3%
"
I can find no mention of Red or flashing Red in the manual at all just fyi. My hunch is the manual is wrong and you should substitute Red for Orange, but thats just a guess.
I hope you're right. I guess I'll see if it lights green in the morning

Light just went green after probably about 5 hours of dedicated charge time on the dock only. Both tab and dock first time charge. Its been plugged in for say 7 to 8 hours but with the tablet docked for the first while. Its my understanding that when set up like that the power will first charge the tablet then the dock once the tablet is full. You were correct about that light, perhaps i'm color blind.

Hey all,
I just picked up a Transformer KB Dock yesterday and immediately started charging it before connecting it to my tablet. Thing is, it has been charging for literally 18 hours, and its still orange. I wanted to fully charge it before using it, as I don't imagine you can "Wipe battery stats" on the dock alone.
Getting a bit worried though because I also noticed in the manual that a Green light indicates a higher than 95% charge, but I think I would have reached it by now
Looking for some insight into whether anyone has seen a green light on their dock (maybe when charging it alone).
Really starting to lose patience as I want to try it connected for the first time!!
Thanks in advance all!
Check the connections again. The TF and dock use a gnd signal on pin 7 of the USB 3.0 connector to tell the charger to use 15VDC. If that signal is not there it will charge at 5V and take forever. If you use a USB2.0 extension or bad 3.0 cable it could cause the problem.

Sorry, should have said that I am using the original/official charger from ASUS that came with the tablet. It's direct into a UPS, and using the official USB/dock cable too. Still orange and I haven't docked the tablet yet!
Thanks for your reply Rumbleweed.

Mine did the same. The dock firmware that shipped with was old, the charge indicator was fixed in a more recent release. Mine never went green until I docked, and followed the prompt for the waiting firmware upgrade.
Then the indicators worked as it should.

Have a similar problem. The first time i charged my dock the light eventually turned green. It was flashing orange last night so I connected the dock by itself to the charger. It's been charging for almost nine hours now and the light is still not green. This is with the original charger, no extension cord. Dock firmware was updated a day after I went to 3.1.
One thing I did notice is the charger is slightly warm, no where near the scorching hot it gets when i charge the tablet by itself.
Any ideas?
Should I dock the tablet and see if that makes a difference?
edit:
ok this stinks. i decided to dock the tablet and charge both to see what happens. i unplugged the dock, attached the tablet and then the dock starts blinking orange just like it did last night before i plugged the charger in. so blinking orange light, charge 11 plus hours, still blinking orange light.
Is the indicator light supposed to stay on while it's unplugged? Mine only comes on when it's plugged in.

hey bros, need some help here. my eee pad says its charging but the dock orange light keep on blink and the percentage of the pattery display was 62%
is this a norm or is the dock faulty?
unfortunatly my Nexus 4 fell into water and Iv'e tried the rice trick and it didn't helped. now after few weeks when I plug it to the charger I get a solid yellow notification light (sometimes it gets red too).
I just wondered what does it mean. it says the phone is just dead?
How long did you charge it?
Yellow light normally suggests it's charging. Let it charge for 3-4 hours and then see. But before this make sure that there is not water inside the phone.

I didn't actually tried to let it charge I 'll try it now.
it just light up when I plug the phone in. it's more orange light but the first time I plugged the phone it was red.
I replaced the battery yesterday from my friend's nexus 4 and it's still the same (the battery was half charged on his phone).
but the phone can be dead even though the battery charging right?

I have a couple of spare batteries for my V20, but can't find an external battery charger that works. I've bought a couple that claim to be able to charge V20 batteries, but neither of them do.
Does anyone know of the charger that can be purchased in the UK which actually works?

The first one looks like one that I already have (and doesn't work). I haven't come across the 2nd one.
So have you tried them, or are you still waiting for them to be delivered?
Like I say i have them both, they both work fine. The second one charges faster than the first but I like the small form factor of the first one linked, it's very good for travel.
I'm using the LG OEM external charger in the US. It works great. It was sold only as a package including a new battery. I would be surprised if LG didn't make a version for the UK market. If they do, I would recommend it.

Hmmm....odd that the first one doesn't work for me. There is a voltage from the pins on the charger but the neither of my batteries charges when I insert them (and I have even left them overnight).
I've ordered the 2nd one to see if it's any better.
LG did have the BCK-5200 charging kit for the V20, but it seems to be discontinued. It's certainly unavailable in the UK.

So I received this charger this morning, and left a battery charging in it for 3 hours. The LED on the charger changed from blue to pink, but the battery didn't charge at all. I checked the pins with a multitester and the charger was delivering current, but the battery charge wasn't increasing.
Any ideas??

What, all 4 of them? (I have tried charging 2 batteries in the new charger, and all 4 batteries in the other 2 chargers that I have bought and tried). None of the batteries have charged in any of the chargers.
All of them charge fine in the phone.
I've had the external battery charger from the first link for three years. Pretty much since the phone came out. It is always work for OEM and aftermarket batteries for me.

Yes I also have that charger - it doesn't charge any of the batteries that I've tried with it (only 3 of my 4 batteries will physically fit into it, and none of them will charge).
I really can't work this out - how come these chargers work for others but not for me? Surely all 4 of my batteries can't be faulty, particularly when all 4 charge perfectly well when they are in the phone.

The light is blue when it is not charging. And red when it is charging. You could try to check the voltage if you have a meter. Or it might be a faulty charger. Just to guess.

I've tried two power sources - one is 5V 2A, the other is 5V 2.4A.
Is it possible that the batteries are actually being charged, but that the phone isn't reporting the correct level of charge when the batteries are inserted?
