Samsung fast charge wireless - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

I bought my s8+ from best buy and it came with the fast charge wireless charger and for some reason when I charge my phone using it the phone stops charging and the led indicator on the wireless charger keeps blinking blue. Has anyone else have this problem?

Charging LED goes off after charging?

I've noticed that now the LED goes off after charging... with the 2.1A firmware anyone else gets this?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
nope, mine is on when charging and when finished xD
Nope! Mine stays on when it's plugged in even when it reaches 100%
Yeah mine too.
U just need to plug on the charger again and plug it off
Mine stays on as well
Mine stays on, too.
I think with 1.6 it went off when the phone was fully charged.

[Q] TF Dock Charge Light

Hey all,
Can anybody give me the low down on the charge light on the tf dock? As in what Color light means what? I got my dock in before the pad, charging the dock now and I misplaced the manual that outlined what light color/flashing means what.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
The manual that is included with the transformer explains wht each color represents.
I can try to remember what they were. If someone would be kind enough to correct me or add as needed to help the OP out that'd be great.
1. Rapidly blinking orange represents less than 10% of battery life
2. Blinking orange represents under 50%
3. Blinking green is >90% but <50%
4. Solid green represents a fully charged dock.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
Thanks for the response. I remember there was a light code for less than 3% power, not sure what that is. I think solid red was for less than 10%.. I cant seem to pull the info on google.. Silly me, should have kept the manual that came with the dock. I didnt see anything in the TF manual about the light on the dock.

Has anyone had issues with their dock not holding a charge. I had my pad on the dock with the charger attached overnight. Using the tablet today, i have used it for maybe 3-4 hours total. My tablet is showing 52% charge and the light on the dock is flashing red. Doesnt seem like it is holding a charge nor is it charging the pad any longer.

I had exactly the same issue today. I just charged the dock separately and now it seems ok.
When I unplugged the charger however (because it gets very hot if you just leave it plugged in) I heard a very high pitched almost inaudible whine from the charger. I hope this is nothing.
How are you guys telling that the dock is fully charged? As mentioned above, mine just shows a red light continuously when plugged in and the tablet is fully charged. Its been plugged in about 6 hours now.

So does mine. I just assume its charged up enough after a few hours and it seems to be fine.
As requested by the OP here is the bit from the manual on lights.
"
Green ON: Battery power is between 95% and 100%
Orange ON: Battery power is less than 95%
Orange Blinking: Battery power is less than 10%
Orange Blinking quickly: Battery power is less than 3%
"
I can find no mention of Red or flashing Red in the manual at all just fyi. My hunch is the manual is wrong and you should substitute Red for Orange, but thats just a guess.
I hope you're right. I guess I'll see if it lights green in the morning

Light just went green after probably about 5 hours of dedicated charge time on the dock only. Both tab and dock first time charge. Its been plugged in for say 7 to 8 hours but with the tablet docked for the first while. Its my understanding that when set up like that the power will first charge the tablet then the dock once the tablet is full. You were correct about that light, perhaps i'm color blind.

Greater than 90% but less than 50%?
Hey all,
I just picked up a Transformer KB Dock yesterday and immediately started charging it before connecting it to my tablet. Thing is, it has been charging for literally 18 hours, and its still orange. I wanted to fully charge it before using it, as I don't imagine you can "Wipe battery stats" on the dock alone.
Getting a bit worried though because I also noticed in the manual that a Green light indicates a higher than 95% charge, but I think I would have reached it by now
Looking for some insight into whether anyone has seen a green light on their dock (maybe when charging it alone).
Really starting to lose patience as I want to try it connected for the first time!!
Thanks in advance all!
Check the connections again. The TF and dock use a gnd signal on pin 7 of the USB 3.0 connector to tell the charger to use 15VDC. If that signal is not there it will charge at 5V and take forever. If you use a USB2.0 extension or bad 3.0 cable it could cause the problem.

Sorry, should have said that I am using the original/official charger from ASUS that came with the tablet. It's direct into a UPS, and using the official USB/dock cable too. Still orange and I haven't docked the tablet yet!
Thanks for your reply Rumbleweed.

Mine did the same. The dock firmware that shipped with was old, the charge indicator was fixed in a more recent release. Mine never went green until I docked, and followed the prompt for the waiting firmware upgrade.
Then the indicators worked as it should.

Have a similar problem. The first time i charged my dock the light eventually turned green. It was flashing orange last night so I connected the dock by itself to the charger. It's been charging for almost nine hours now and the light is still not green. This is with the original charger, no extension cord. Dock firmware was updated a day after I went to 3.1.
One thing I did notice is the charger is slightly warm, no where near the scorching hot it gets when i charge the tablet by itself.
Any ideas?
Should I dock the tablet and see if that makes a difference?
edit:
ok this stinks. i decided to dock the tablet and charge both to see what happens. i unplugged the dock, attached the tablet and then the dock starts blinking orange just like it did last night before i plugged the charger in. so blinking orange light, charge 11 plus hours, still blinking orange light.
Is the indicator light supposed to stay on while it's unplugged? Mine only comes on when it's plugged in.

Nexus wireless charger fails with Verizon g2

I received a nexus wireless charger for Christmas. I have tested my g2 with the LG wireless charger and it works fine, but it won't charge from the nexus one at all. When I first plugged it in, the charger had a small led that lit up. Now, there is no light with the phone on or off of it. Does anyone else have this wireless charger? Do I just have a defective unit?

Hello,
You're unable to charge because you are using a *nexus* wireless charger to charge your LG G2. The nexus wireless charger can only charge nexus devices as described here. You may find more information regarding this on their product website (unable to provide link due to low post count)
Regards,
Kevin
As long as it is a Qi wireless charger it should work regardless of what device it was "made" for. I have a Nokia and LG one and both work fine. Sounds like it may b defective to me.

I had to return the first Nexus charger I ordered due to it being faulty... So it happens. A lot.

Did you have it working with a g2? Qi charging is supposed to be Qi charging, right?
They work with the G2. Placement can be a hassle at times.

[Q] Charging Problem

I just received my Note 4 today and everything is working OK except when I charge it the screen comes on every couple of minutes and it makes a pinging sound, no LED comes on. Is this normal and if it isn't, is there any setting that I have wrong?
When charging i alway see led show red so i think your device is not charge. Is your note charging normally or not?

I had the same thing, make sure to use the Samsung charger or a high quality charger of at least 1.8A. I bought an import phone that came with a generic charger that suited my wall socket, it would charge for a few mins then the screen came on and I heard the ding sound as though it was taken off charge. I went and bought a universal adapter and now using Samsung charger all is well, it is possible your charger is faulty even if using original.

Thanks for the info. I was using a charger that came with another phone and the screen kept coming on and off. I got the original charger out of the box and started using that and all is well. As for the LED, it seems that I had turned it off hoping that was the cause of my screen coming on during charging, I changed that setting back to the original and the LED is working again.
maibelai krap <- Thats how is sounds to me anyway haha, you're welcome.

Fast Charging with a 2 pin original usb c Nexus 6P charger in the UK

After reading several posts about fast charging I can't really find the answer to my question.
I have purchased a nexus 6p but it has a 2 pin charger so in the UK I am having to use a plug adapter.
I wonder if anyone else is doing this also and can confirm if you lose the fast charging or not or if it makes any difference at all ?
Happy New Year.
Ebay? Yeah I have too... Wont make a difference though.. Still quick charge.
Shouldn't make a difference, fast charging should work as intended!
Ok thanks for the answers. Are they confirmed though e.g do you both own a two pin charger with your nexus 6p and getting fast charge ? And yes eBay !!!
I have just been traveling in the uk and it worked fine to fast charge.

Does it come up on the screen that it's fast charging like on the S6 or not . Can't see any notification but not sure is one shows ?
What is the difference? The third pin in UK charger is just plastic, the only purpose of it is to "open" the other to holes in a socket. So 2 pin euro charger will be working the same.
It said and did fast charging

OK so charging with 2 pin Google charger into a UK adapter and no fast charger notification to be seen in fact it's gone down 1% whilst I am writing ?
Just ordered a UK official charger from Google. Let's see what happens.
It should say it on the lock screen.

The fast charge notification appears on the lock screen. Just above the finger print icon at the bottom it should either say 'Charging' for standard charging (ie when using an A to C cable), or 'Charging rapidly' for fast charging using a USB C charger and cable.

Thank you. I just found it. Lol. Never mind a spare charger is always handy
Admin please close this thread. Thanks for all the comments the notification of "charging rapidly" shows on the lock screen only whilst using a UK plug adapter from a 2 pin stock Google USB c charger.
