Hello, I need some help, please.
It is only recent that I have moved from Kitkat to Lollipop for my Galaxy Note 3 N9005 International. Since a few days, I have been trying to use a text template without success.
I mean, I can set up text templates in Settings, but I cannot find a way to use templates for messages. When I want to send an SMS, if I click on the menu button, the menu appears with Video CALL, View contact, Add recipient, Insert smiley, Add subject, Add slide, Schedule message, Block settings, Discard and Font size, but there is no "Add text" which I used to have with Kitkat.
Maybe I am doing something wrong.. Can some one explain how to use a text template?
If someone has SecMms_Candy.apk for Galaxy Note 3 N9005, which has "Add text", would it possible to upload it? I would like to try. Maybe, it will work for me. I would appreciate any advice.
PS: I seems to me this was an issue of apk. I tried SecMMS_Candy.apk from another version for N9005, and I found "Quick Responses" (not "Add text" like Kitkat), which allows me to select one of the templates.

Hi,
I installed a new ROM and am missing a little feature now. Unfortunately I don't know if it was some hack or tool I installed or something to enable with the ROM itself.
When I wrote a new SMS and entered a few letters, a list would drop down with matching recipients names (and only their GSM numbers), and I could select from there. This is gone now, I can just enter the name, and when I press "Send" I'm taken to a separate page of matching recipients with all their numbers...
How can I get that back?
This is probably an extremely easy fix... but before I get flamed, I would just like to make it known that I spent 20 minutes searching and googling on how to fix this problem, to no avail.
My problem is when I am sending a new text message. When my HTC TyTN was running it's original ROM, the left softkey in the "Text Messages" folder would create a New text message. After updating to XDA Live v0.10, the left softkey now Deletes text messages. I now can only create a new text message by going to Menu (the right softkey) --> New, which I find rather cumbersome. Is there any way to change the left softkey's function?
(Sorry if this post didn't make a whole lot of sense, it's late and I've been messing around with xda live all night..)
In my case I use vijays tool VJSMS.exe (http://vijay555.com/?Releases:VJPhoneTools) as a quick link to SMS/TEXT writing.
VJSMS.exe ""
as a link will open up an empty SMS. The link can be made with Resco Exlorer or orher file tools.
So i changed from the 8125 to the wing and I have discovered it is much more difficult to send a new text message. You have to go through like 5 different commands...(open the message bar, select text message account, tap menu, scroll to new, scroll to sms) it just seems so tedious so i was wondering if anyone knows of a way to make it so i can have new message be one of my soft key choices (preferably where the delete soft key is). Its really annoying.
Thanks BP
How about when you install the HTC Home plugin, I HAD one until i bricked my phone yesterday :'( it came with the PDAVIET rom which was released some time ago.
What it does is, it shows on the Today screen a link to Email and one to SMS.
That's probably the fastest way.
Cheers
how 'bout putting the command "new sms" under a softkey ?
Or simply install the program "name" (sorry forgot the name) that puts a "New" menu at your left soft-key in the today screen, from there you can choose sms, e-mail, mms etc.. Just search for New menu
Press Contacts softkey. Scroll to the intended recipient. Tap, hold, pick "Send Text Message". Type text message. Press Send softkey.
What's the problem?
How About VIJay?
Hello,
I use VijaySMS All the time... It allows you to make a shortcut (I use SPB Today so I create the shortcuts in there) that either starts a blank SMS or start one to a specific contact. You can find the program at Vijay's webpage here: http://www.vijay555.com/
Enjoy!
You could set up the Message button to automatically go to your SMS Inbox when you press it.
Messaging Inbox > Menu > Tools > Options...
Select Text/SMS and uncheck "Display account picker when opening Messaging." This will automatically open your SMS Inbox, thus eliminating the first two steps of your problem.
Hi,
Is there a way to send an sms to all contacts?
Also how do you select multipe contacts for messaging - do you really have to do one contact at a time as I have been doing, or can you "mark" multiple contacts?
Cheers.
In the list of Recipient type the contacts following bij a semicolon.
for example:
contact1; contact2; contact3 etc
Hi, same thing here. Do you get a "check names" option in the forward message opiton box that doesn't do anything? Is there any way of adding a check box to the contacts menu? Would be nice. I've searched the whole forum and can't find any answers. Search brings up no matches either.
Thanks.
I dont know about 'all', but multiples are easy, just keep clicking the To button and selecting your contacts from the contactlist (one at a time).. A checkbox would have been neater tho.
Try google for Group SMS. It lets you list your contacts by category, and checkbox those you wish to SMS to.
I'm sure I had that one. If anyone finds it, please post a link.
I have catagories set up, why can't I just text a catagory and it messages them all..
Eaglesteve! Searched as you said and installed Groupsms. Works great.
Cheers and thank you.
HI!
Please help me i dont know how to do it i cant find the button. I want to send text by mms and not sms. How can i change to mms messages instead of sms and without sending a file just text??? I have an official wm 6.5 rom...it was easy in wm 6.1....but cant do it now
Thanks!
You would need to revert to a prior version of Arcsoft that had this capability.
Sending text as an MMS rather than SMS
In WinMo 6.5 with Sense 2.5 the SMS and MMS messaging has been merged into a single application. If you want to send text as an mms rather than sms you could try this:
1. Select the contact
2. Click "Send message"
3. Type your text in the input area
4. Click the paperclip to expand the list of attachments and click the image icon on the left hand side
5. This will display your photo album, select one of them (you're going to remove it later on so choose any one).
6. This will take you back the message input area and you'll notice a small version of your selected image with some size information next to it.
7. Press the paper & pen icon on the right of the picture (note you may need to press this twice!!) and this will take you to a mms panel.
8. Add a single blank character to the subject (this will force the message to be sent as an mms rather than an sms).
9. Click DONE and then SEND. The message should be sent as an mms.
So a simple *.LNK file does not work on WM6.5?
So a simple *.LNK file does not work on WM6.5?
My MMS2.LNK;
Code:
44#"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "MMS" -to ""
Select the code and copy/paste it in a text file. Then rename the file from MMS2.txt to MMS2.LNK (capitals are for clarity).
If it does work, please let me know. TIA,
