Hi,
Is there a way to send an sms to all contacts?
Also how do you select multipe contacts for messaging - do you really have to do one contact at a time as I have been doing, or can you "mark" multiple contacts?
Cheers.
In the list of Recipient type the contacts following bij a semicolon.
for example:
contact1; contact2; contact3 etc
Hi, same thing here. Do you get a "check names" option in the forward message opiton box that doesn't do anything? Is there any way of adding a check box to the contacts menu? Would be nice. I've searched the whole forum and can't find any answers. Search brings up no matches either.
Thanks.
I dont know about 'all', but multiples are easy, just keep clicking the To button and selecting your contacts from the contactlist (one at a time).. A checkbox would have been neater tho.
Try google for Group SMS. It lets you list your contacts by category, and checkbox those you wish to SMS to.
I'm sure I had that one. If anyone finds it, please post a link.
I have catagories set up, why can't I just text a catagory and it messages them all..
Eaglesteve! Searched as you said and installed Groupsms. Works great.
Cheers and thank you.

Dear Forum
Do you know if there is a simple way to send to many people with one click an sms?
Does the capability of group contact exists? how?
Please advice.
try going into contacts and make it display the group you want to sms
so you can do that in the left corner of the contacts window
then you open your keyboard and press ctrl + A
then it mark all the contacts being displayd
then you tab and hold on them giving you the option list
then you choose send sms
or what ever it's called
then you get a sms msg window with all the nr.'s
Its nice. I try it....the downside, is not usuful with forwards, but is better than nothing.
Thanks for your reply.
hi im new to WM5, i used to have a nokia smart phone. i wanted to know how i can send sms messages to muliple mobile phones quickly. without having to continually going through my contact list and selcting each one, one at a time. thanks.
At the "To" line, type the name (or some letters) of the first person, select the contact from the list that appears, press enter, a ";" appears after the name, which means you can enter another contact after that.
Good luck with the Windows Mobile Experience!
re: send sms messages
thanks alot. by the way is there a way to set up a group of conacts. to speed things up.
easiest way is to set them in outlook
try o2smsplus
I'm trying to find a program that will let me send group SMS... been scouring the net, but can't seem to find something good. Tried O2 SMS plus, but for some reason after a while i would stop sending or receiving SMS.. which obviously is bad.
any ideas?
Click 'To' then add a recipient, click 'To' then add a recipient, etc...
BS...
This is the solution
You could try my solution on this post , and I think you will be happy.

Hey i finally found a program to do it.. can't remember where.. some thread.
It's a tiny program that you can run from the programs menu or from the 'menu' button inside the messaging app. Sends group SMS to the different categories you have in your contact list.
(searched cause O2sms plus was giving me the same problem.. annoying)
I have noticed that the inbox shows all messages, including those I have sent when the person has not replied yet. I understand this is because of the threaded view. Any way to disable it?
I think there is a registry trick to show individual messages instead of threads, does it also show sent messages in the inbox?
Also, for sent messages without a reply the subject line shows the surname ahead of the first name, both in the inbox and in the sent items folder. Is this a bug?
I don't understand what you want. Do you want to see all the messages you have sent to a person? (to do that, tap the message in TouchFlo). Please explain. Sorry if I am the only one who doesn't get it. Cheers!
Sorry for not makiing it clear. Suppose you have sent a message to a person X. This is the first time you have made contact with X. He hasn't replied. Then, if you go to your inbox, you will see that the sms you sent appears in the inbox, even though he hasn't replied. So you are basically seeing a sent message in the inbox folder.
I disabled threaded view and they don't appear anymore. I wanted to know if we can make them disappear in threaded view. I assume not, because it is a feature of the threaded view.
Secondly, in the case of X who has never sent me an sms, I will see him as "Surname, X" instead of "X Surname" in the subject field. I wonder if this is a bug?
not really a bug. It depends on how you want to view your contacts' name. If you have noticed, in all contacts you also see Surname, X.
Well, all my contacts are sorted by "X Surname". And in all my sms they appear as "X Surname" except those from whom I have received no sms yet.
Can you pls guide me how you have sorted your contacts as "X Surname"...I could not find any option for specifying the sorting order.
You can either edit the contact and choose "More" at the bottom of the screen or, to do it for all the contacts, use Contact Changer 1.3.

When I create an sms message
=> Messaging, New message
I wish to access my address/contact list so I can add my contact, without typing a number or such, is this possible? or am I doing it wrong?
I think it's not possible in the stock messaging app.
You can select your contact first and invoke messaging from there, though.
Try handcent sms (free from market). It has replaced the stock app on my Nexus (and Hero before) since day one.....

Click to collapse
When using the stock messaging I start typing the name of the contact and it shows. I guess I'm not understand your question. Or just access the contact first then select to send the message. Handset is a good replace in the fact of the options to customize far more that the stock.
