I have a LeEco Le Pro3 x720 on stock software, never rooted. It had plenty of battery when it suddenly shut down to a black screen when I was in the middle of a Messenger videocall. Now I can't power it on anymore. The led doesn't turn on when I charge it. When I press the power button long enough the phone will make 1 small vibration every ten seconds. What should I do?

Interesting as same thing happened to me just two days ago. When I tried to boot, I, too, got that short vibration. Upon plugging the power, faint orange or green LED light showed up. I tried getting into bootloader or recovery but nothing happens except that short vibration. After trying it many times, I am now not even getting that vibration.

It vibrates because its in EDL mode, you can leave EDL mode by pressing down and power for 1 to 2 minutes.
Have you tried a different cord and charger. I recently had an issue with my battery getting extremely hot, it turned out that my brand new anker usb C cable was defective. I have a new cable and no issues with heat.
If you still have issues, you may need a new battery. In fact, upon reading you description I immediately thought its your battery, especially since you only ever used EUI.
A replacement battery is about $7, you might as well order a new LCD $ 20. Because you will probably break the one you have when you attempted to remove the screen.
Carefully use a heat gun instead of a hairdryer and the screen will come off with ease. There are videos on youtube that show you how its done.

What is it when it does not vibrate anymore? In my case, it does not vibrate anymore but when I plug it, faint orange LED notification appears then disappears after several seconds.
I have tried pressing down the power button for a long time (not sure if it was 1-2 min. long) but nothing happened.
I think my battery was in good standing. For two years of use, I made sure to charge it at 40 - 85% and placed it on cooling pad (aluminum mouse pad) so it does not overheat.
In fact, Accubattery battery health rated its health at 94%.
I ordered an EDL cable which is on the way. I will see how that works out.

I bought Pocophone F1. I was actually eyeing for Redmi Note 7 Pro but could not wait due to LP1's sudden death.
I am happy with Pocophone as it runs noticeably faster, battery lasts longer (4-5 hrs more, screen on time), and it does not heat up. The only downside is feel of the phone. In your hand, it does not feel nice as LP1.
However, I am still trying revive LP1 as it contains last 8 years of accumulated data.

Hey congrats on your Poco! I have been considering a POCO myself. But after doing a lot of research, it turns out the the POCO does not have the same amount of LTE bands as my Le Pro 3. So I might end up buying the Mi Mix 3, or the Black Shark instead.,
Regarding your Leeco, a faint flashing light usually means brick. You might know if you have read any of my unbricking posts that quite a few people have mailed their phones to me for repair. Usually with a faint light, I can fix it by unbricking with QPST &QFIL or Flash 2.0 and Qfil. However, some of those cases ended up being the battery, even when the battery going dead will show a blue led light. There have also been some cases where the board is fried, but those do not have any led lights.
Your issue could be the battery even though, accubattery reported 94% especially if you used the usb cable that came with the phone. There have been so many things that destroy our phones lately. In November it was bad thermals, in December it was correct thermals that went working and recently it seems that some audio mods are causing the battery to reach extremely high temperatures.
In any case it seems that these phones will start degrading at two years. In my family we have had a total of 9 Leeco phones. ^of those were Le Pro 3s ( 3 failed within the first 90 days and were returned to Amazon ..fortunately. One has a fried motherboard and 2 are working ( One is mine and the other belongs to my Mom) The moist resilient Leeco's that we have owned are the ones that have also been the most used and abused by my kids : 2 Leeco X522's some of the best built phones that I have ever seen.
It wouldn't cost you too much to test the battery on your non-working Leeco. If you live in the US, you can mail it to me a I will use the battery from my phone with the damaged motherboard and unbrick it if needed Shipping is usually $14 round trip. If I fix it you can get me a case of beer as payment. Otherwise just order the battery, if you can get it working to can recoup some of your money spent on the POCO.
by the way, my brother has this case and its awesome : Here

Thank you for your kind response! I really appreciate it.
I only used original charger and cable for less than a month when I first got the phone. Since then, I only used USB 3.0 chargers with 56k ohm cables. Considering circumstances, I thought it is unlikely that battery is the culprit but as there are no other explanations I can think of, I will try replacing the battery. Unfortunately, I do not live in US and will have to find a way get it fixed. I am planning to order a battery from Aliexpress.
EDIT: The case is cool but Pocophone is already thick enough that I decide to use it without a case. That is the thing I miss about LP1 and why I originally wanted to get Redmi Note 7 Pro. Poco just feels a bit chunky on hand.

Unfortunately I have the same problem . Could you please send me a link to buy a battery and a lcd screen for my X722?

After a few years of good experiences, the last couple of weeks my Archos 10.1IT is having problems. A re-install of everything did not cure. Apparent problem are the device not going to sleep (the screen switches off but the device keeps active), and the USB host port no longer working. Well, sleep and host port works immedeately after a reboot, but stops after having slept once. This happens with stock Android, and with UrukDroid.
Yesterday I switched it on at charge level 80% and within minutes it dropped to 10%. Then the device froze, and I notices that it had become very hot. I could not switch it off (long press of the power switch had no effect) so I put it outside just in case it would catch fire.
That didn't happen. I tried to recharge it but the behaviour didn't change: Immedeately after booting up it starts discharging fast. Peculiar is that although I switched it to ariplane mode, WiFi is still the biggest consumer of energy (36%). Also peculiar is that although the battery feels hot, battery snap reports the temperature at 23.0 (which is the normal temperature during operation).
Something is severely wrong. I think this is the end of this tablet.
Goodbye
After some attempts to get it back to life, deep discharge, recharge and so on, I consider the device dead.
If anyone is interested in the remains (the unit's okay, just the battery is broken) drop me a note.
Goodbye to y'all -- it was fun.
I ordered a Samsung Galaxy Note for replacement.
Never say never...
Just for fun I investigated at the company I bought it, and they informed me that I had a two year warranty (I expected just one year). This means that I still can send it back for repair.
To prepair the device for reparation I wiped it (reset Android and data). To my surprise it is now charging again and seems to function normally (except for the deep sleep and host port). Strange...
FYI: The Samsung Note 10.1 is nice and fast, but very bloated. And you need all kinds of extra connectors and cables to connect it to the charger, USB devices and HDMI.
Finally
Today I went to the shop with the broken Archos. They were very sorry to inform me that they didn't sell Archos anymore, and couldn't repair it. All they could do was give me a refund.
So I received €159,95 refund after 20 months for a device that was €229,00 when I bought it.
Still I think I gonna miss it...

There are 2 batteries inside the Archos 101, and it is very easy to replace. Will you try ?
Those batteries are very simple. You can get it thru the mail order.
:good:
im down to 13%, i did a full reset.
i have it turned off currently, it shows a charger is plugged in for about 2 seconds and then that one is not plugged in. i have tried about 5 different chargers now.
anyone else have this? any ideas?
it is at&t stock. never rooted or rommed
i have removed the sim and sd-card.
could it be the battery?
i still have it turned off and plugged in. it had a quick flash of a red battery.
It's been charging for about 30 minutes turned off, powered it up, is taking a charge, just slowly. I think it's a bad battery. I work for att, I'll swap the battery out tomorrow and report if it was a bad battery or not so if others have this issue they will know what's wrong.
OK, went and got a new battery and it did not fix it.
Anyone got any ideas?
I just factory reset it as well, so to recap,
Factory reset, and new battery, 6 different chargers tried. Im assuming bad phone unfixable by me.
Are you rooted?

same problem
got the unbranded version in the Netherlands. No special stuff going on (i.e. no root or exotic cables/chargers)
had this a couple of days earlier but after removing the battery, swapping wall outlets, (several) Usb2 and usb3 cables it started charging again. I don't know what set it off to start charging again
with the phone on, it did display in the status bar that is was charging, just the battery didn't fill up. So it did recognize the fact that there was power coming through the cable
before it started charging, when the phone was turned off and i put the cable in it, the phone started vibrating with intervals and a line appeared on the screen at longer intervals.
after turning the phone off, the charging led indicator did not burn even though the charging cable was connected
since i've been able to recharge it a couple of times since, i thought it was an one-off freak incident
Just now the problem came back and i'm going through all the stupid things described above: pulling out batteries, switching chargers, blowing down the connecor in case some dust or something else was blocking the pins.
No luck so far.
suggestions are welcome
This happened to my exynos version (India ) yesterday. I remember charging through my laptop before this happened. Strangely after i reconnected it to power it would not charge though the charging icon was showing up. After sometime somehow it started charging again. This has never happened before and I am not sure what's wrong. If this continues I am done with Samsung.
Sad to say I'm having the same issue on my week old Note 3.
It charged fine for the first few days but now I've determined that I have to put slight pressure on the cable to maintain a charging state. Basically if the phone is face down, I have to press down slightly on the USB3.0 connector.
Since I've rooted and flashed I'm not too keen on taking the new phone in for service so I've ordered another cable to test.
I read on another forum that people were having problems charging with the original OEM cable but no problems with USB2.0 cables and replacement USB3.0 cables. Hope that's the case, but it seems to me that the charging port may be bad.
Mine doesn't charge at all via computer when the screen is on (it shows charging, but the charge goes down), only through wall charger...wtf is going on?
If the phone barely charges or not at all when turned on, yet it still detects a charge, there's something running that drains more power than is being supplied. Start by checking active apps.
I had this on the IC Amsterdam - Berlin when I was playing a game, it kept going down at full rate even with the charger connected (The DB has powersockets in their trains, the thing the NS is too cheap to do.). Turned out the game was still running in the background even though I had quit it.
Force-quit everything non-critical in running applications and voila, it started charging. Slowly, but it did.
Another thing that bears relevance to mention is that sometimes there's not enough charge coming through a socket, usually when there's already too many devices on a single group or the socket is limited (like in trains, campsites, planes...)

im having the same problem. im startint to think its is an issue with the usb socket on the phone.
I read some where that if you let the phone go completely flat and then let the phone charge without turning it back on it (just leave it on the sceen with the battery charging icon). I've tried and this seems to help (I only did this yesterday and pluged the phone in again after some use this morning and its charging again).
But I think there is an underlying issue with the hardware sometime my phone indicates that it has connected to dock when this isn't the case, only for a second but I think with the problems charging and the issue with the false dock connection would suggest that there is something wrong with the usb port itself.
Im probably going to take mine in for repair.

This usually happens when there are metalic particles in the USB port.
Have you tried cleaning it with a needle/toothpick? Dont forget under the USB pin.

Thanks, I had a close look for any sort of dirt/conductive sort of material but it seems to be clear.
I keep the phone in a case which protects the ports and keep everything as clean as possible. The phone is only a couple of weeks old so it's still quite fresh.
But i know what you mean the usb terminals are small it would only take a small bit of something to cause a problem.

This might sound crazy, but try this... Drop your phone from a height of about 2 feet onto probably a hard foam or soft wood or that kinda thing.. Drop it on it's back of course. Anyways, 2 Feet is a very short drop for phone to get damaged. Just try.

Had a similar problem recently. Phone just wouldnt hold a charger longer than around 60 minutes.
I was able to take my phone back into the store and get a replacement. It was only 2 weeks old.
Try that
is there a way you can reset the battery as you do when in root?

Apart from the fact that it would take me longer to calculate how much 2 feet is than it takes for the phone to fall, I think I can speak for most people here when I say I'm rather hesitant to let a 700 euro/1200 dollar phone fall off anything.
The idea alone is rather disconcerting...
You could just as well give it a good whack with your flat palm, as the idea is to jar the wiring into place.
'Apply blunt force', One of the more classic troubleshooting approaches. No longer advisable these days, technology is ever so much more fragile than it was in the days of Nokias that could be used to commit murder by means of blunt force trauma and tv's that could electrocute you just by looking at it.

Mate 2 feet is like 2 notebooks high, or 1 closed laptop high. And it's not falling of something, it's likee playfully dropping ur phone. But of course! You shouldn't try it if you don't want to, ok?
And I don't know where you guys buy your phones or what the currency situation is in your countries, but I got my phone for $700 (510 euros) in my country on release day. Which includes 2 years ADH warranty and 2 years regular warranty. :victory:

1000USD+ is very normal for a smartphone in the EU. Long live the Euro... NOT.
The price is still 678euro in the Netherlands (which they make look less cheap by fooling everyone into thinking the price is 578, which it actually is with 100 euro cashback after you buy it... And of course they all fall for it, some even use it as arguments )...
The Note 3 was 750 Euro in the Netherlands (699 Germany where I got it) upon release day, a whopping 1400USD in the exhange ratings at that time. 'So buy it here/there/whereever and have it shipped' (I've had this discussion a thousand times with all those americans) No, there was no regionlock away or even root at that time yet.
All electronic prices are ridiculously, pointlessly high here.
Would that be a 17.3" or 15" laptop? Horizontal or vertical?

I am having problems with my Nexus 4.
History, replaced screen after phone was knocked out of my hand, probably damaged battery while trying to remove it, but everything worked once it was back together.
Screen broke again, and while working on that, I noticed the battery had swollen so ordered a replacement of eBay.
All back together now, but.
1 Phone does not state "charging" when connected to AC or USB charging, although the battery icon has the lightning bolt in it and the %charge does not drop while messing with the phone.
2 Phone does charge using wireless, but slowly, and status swaps back and forth between charging and not charging and the % will move from e.g. 40% to 35% as it says charging or not charging.
3 USB works for connection to PC.
I charged the new battery overnight, wirelessly. It got to about 90%, so slow charging, but seems to work. Phone is usable, everything seems to work. I connected it to PC and was able to use Nexus Root Toolkit to backup, the reset the phone, no change in charging behavior.
Booting into safe mode made no difference either. So it seems it is not software/firmware/apps that are causing the problem?
I guess next step is to open it up again and remove and remake all connections and check contact posts? Should I order a third battery? Or a new motherboard?
I searched here, but could not find anyone with the same problem.
Any and all help appreciated. Thanks in advance, guys.
Opening and rechecking connections and coating with contact cleaner has made no difference.
Phone typically needs Volume Down and Power button pressed to get it to start, then Power Button to select start option, then seems to run okay.
Battery still not reaching 100% charged, generally 70-80% after a full night off, using wireless (my Nexus 5 charges happily on same charger).
Ordered a cheap battery from China, not really expecting that to be the problem, but no other clues or suggestions for now.
Any update?
My battery is ****e now, lasts 3-4 hours and I need to turn off the phone and charge. It takes 4+ hours to charge when switched on. Charging via the PC you can forget it, it drains the battery if anything!
I'm thinking of buying the battery on eBay and doing my research on how to fix myself.
Phone not switching on and Battery issues
Hi,
I have been facing quick drainage of my Nexus 4 battery since past few months. Recently I had been keeping it on charge almost the whole day, and a full charge would last only 2-3 hours! Further, the charging was taking a lot of time too.
Today, my phone had already switched off due to low battery when I put it on charger. After the white charging icon appeared for a few seconds, the phone wasn't charging at all. I have tried 4 different chargers, but to no avail.
Can someone help me? Is there a guide on how to change the battery?
Any help and urgent help appreciated!

II guess next step is to open it up again and remove and remake all connections and check contact posts? Should I order a third battery? Or a new motherboard?
I searched here, but could not find anyone with the same problem.

It's possible some hardware was damaged when you took apart and put back together your phone. The USB board is a possibility, as is the back cover itself. These parts are pretty inexpensive, if you want to try buying a replacement, but that's just a shot in the dark.

Buy a new battery. Li-ion batteries are only good for a few hundred cycles or so (~500 cycles is the expected lifetime), and the N4 isn't exactly the best in battery life, so you can reach the point where your battery turns to crap within a year or so (or less).
Go to ifixit.com and look at the teardown. All you need to replace the battery is a T5 TORX driver (for the screws at the bottom), something thin and plastic (like a guitar pick or a plastic knife - they do make professional tools for this) to pry the back cover off, a tiny phillips screwdriver (like for eyeglasses) for the battery screws, and something to pry the old battery off of the adhesive holding it in. Double sided cellophane tape works fine for keeping the new battery in. When prying the cover off, go slowly. A little at a time, don't rush or force things. Or you might flex too much and crack the back glass. Don't forget to take out the SIM tray first.

Hi,
I have been facing quick drainage of my Nexus 4 battery since past few months. Recently I had been keeping it on charge almost the whole day, and a full charge would last only 2-3 hours! Further, the charging was taking a lot of time too.

Time for a new battery. See above.
My battery have started to swollen up a bit but not alot (around 1mm or less, but it is noticeable when not in a case, it can wiggle a bit from side to side but not alot at all).
I have already ordered a new battery if it is expanding more, but yet battery life is pretty good in standby but not getting more then 3hours of SOT. but since im mostly using the N4 for email's and texting its not a problem for me to get through a full day.
I'm having the exact same issue but I've never taken the phone apart. In the 20 minutes its been off charger it's dropped 11% screen off in my pocket. It also gets hot and shuts off.

That could be software/ROM related. It sounds like somethings keeping your phone going full blast instead of letting it idle.
Yup, trying going back to full stock (should always be first step if possible), and then you can go from there. If it doesn't happen, than it was a software issue, and if it still does than it is definitely a hardware issue. Best of luck.

With a swollen battery I strongly recommend you stop actively using the device. Swollen batteries can explode and that would not be good at all. I advise you to please not use the device anymore.

Third battery (original, suspect replacement, now China sourced replacement) has been working well, phone back together and preforming as new for the last few months
Running my Le pro 3 x727 on stock 21S ROM. The battery had been acting up since last couple of weeks , draining very fast in the day , going from 20% to 0% , randomly turning off and the phone was very sluggish.
Yesterday i charged it around 10% and it just died after. The charging indicator was on for a little while yesterday after i connected to my laptop and it was vibrating every 30 seconds. Can't get into recovery or fastboot and there is no more charging indicator as well. Tried several chargers and charging from laptop
Read through the other posts with others having similar issues. Is replacing the battery the only option ? would need to buy a heat gun as well I suppose.
Any other options to revive it ?
Its the battery and you need to buy a heat gun because Leeco used alot of glue.
So don't use a hair dryer or you will end up having to buy an LCD too.
Trust me on this, I have removed the lcd panel off many different phones using a hair dryer. Although I had experience with carefully using the hairdryer technique I still damaged the LCD!
You can find a heat gun at harbor freight for $8 the battery is $8.
Take pictures when you remove the heat shield, so you will know where the varied sized screws go.
Welcome to the bricked family. I have the same problem alongside with ALOT of users nowadays, and only like 1-2 fixed his phone from 8(i know at least 8).
I wish you the best, but low chances that you can fix it IF you try a new battery and it worked, that would be perfect.
Hello all,
this is a rather strange thing that recently happened: my dad's galaxy S7 edge which has been working completely flawless the last few years recently decided to just turn it self off. He handed it to me saying it was working fine last night and trying to use it next day absolutely nothing happens anymore.
I tried to charge via USB with Samsung charger, wireless charger from Anker in case the USB port is defective, and different key combos to restart etc. On PC nothing is detected either..
Could a faulty USB charger have killed the device? When plugging it in, there is absolutely no sign of life - you can hear a faint "buzzing" but no indicator lights etc..
Does anyone have any tips? It would be really appreciated!
Battery or port pcb failure. Maybe both.
Replace battery as it's long overdue.
Once an Li reaches 80% of its original capacity it's reached the end of its usable lifespan.
It's degraded at that point. Degraded Li's are more likely to fail. Any swelling is a failure; replace immediately if observed.
Replace battery and go from there...
Thanks @blackhawk for the tips and insight - I will try to replace the battery!

On a heavily used device the battery lifespan is typically 1-3 years.
I plan to replace my N10+ device's battery about every year, routine maintenance.
A failed Li can do a lot of damage. It rests on the display... which is somewhat fragile.
Get a new rear cover seal when replacing the battery so it retains its water resistance. On AMOLED (NOT LCD displays!!!) displays anhydrous isopropyl alcohol can be used to help loosen the double sides tape on the rear cover and battery if you do it yourself.
Controlled heat is used to help loosen the rear cover on most of these phones. Many shops will replace the battery for a low price as well.
Pretty amazing stuff right here. My S7 Edge did the exact same thing last night.
Think Samsung hit the kill switch.
I'm writing this message from my dad's s7 edge which has kinda the same problem but it's still usable. It shuts down suddenly (even with battery full 100%) and the only way to turn it on is plugging it to the charger, otherwise no sign of life.

I believe, most of this case was caused by power IC, my s7 edge was suddenly died last night too. You can see on this thread and tutorial.

Yeah, i want to try this too, but i think it cost too much money, not worth for me. And also i dont trust to much for 3rd party repair on here except samsung service center.
But u can give it a try. Hope it works.
