viper audio breaks after notification sound, anyone else? - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

If I'm listening to audio or watching a video, and a notification comes in with sound turned on, once the notification sound finishes then my media volume gets much quieter than it was prior to the notification sounding.
I have to open viper, exit, and re-open for audio enhancement to kick back in. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?

I haven't experienced that, but there is a module to deal with this, notification_helper remover: https://zackptg5.com/android.php#nhr
I'm assuming you'll need to flash AML afterwards, if you have viper and NHR installed.

Happens to me too. But it will break any random time, not specificly after notification tone, and turns back on after a few seconds.

That is normal behavior at least that's how it used to work. After I flashed a custom kernel the sound gets quieter but instead of getting louder again after a couple seconds, it stays quieter until I exit and re-open viper

Did you install on system ( viper)?
If you have viper as user app you should fave issues...

Lock Effect Mode
Try using "Lock Effect Mode" in V4A settings - this works for me

I received 2 SMS alerts while listening to music on earphones. The music volume temporarily dipped but then went back up and Viper kept working (it would have been obvious if it stopped working)
I'm on OOS 9.0.11, magisk 17.1, V4A FX 2.1 (2.5.0.5), USB policy patcher 1.0 and AML 1.9.2. Viper is installed as a user app with battery optimization off and the app locked in the recents screen.

Haven't noticed this specific behavior but yes, Viper randomly breaks and a reboot is required. It's happened for as long as I can remember. If anyone knows of a way to get it working again without rebooting, please respond. Switching it off and on in the app doesn't work. I'll keep an eye out for this notification issue as well.

I've also never had this happen. After any reboot I have to open and exit, re-open Viper and toggle on and off, but I've never had it stop working randomly. Once after receiving a phone call while using earphones Viper stopped working, but I didn't have to reboot to get it to work again.
Perhaps there is something different about our setups.

Experience with "Disable Autoplay" app

I've been experiencing the "bug" where I would plug in a set of headphones and the Music app would start playing, even with it previously closed. Sometimes I would get sound out of both the headphones and speakers (with terrible quality, BTW) and would have to unplug and plug in the headphones again.
So I searched and found a free app called Disable Autoplay. I installed it last night and when I got to work this morning and plugged in my headphones, PowerAMP started up and started playing music, badly. I figured out that there's an option within Poweramp itself to stop that behavior, but it still sounded like crap no matter what I did, even toggling media control off/on/off in the Disable Autoplay app. I even uninstalled the app, then rebooted, same issue.
Finally I had to toggle Dolby Digital off then back on in Settings in order to get good sounding audio back.
I haven't had the Music app, or nemoplayer (which sometimes exhibited the same behavior as Music) autostart at all this morning, which is good, and I've edited the options in Poweramp not to start (or resume) when headphones are inserted or removed.
Has anyone else used this app and had these types of issues? I'm wondering if I reinstall it if I'm going to get the crappy audio again and won't be able to toggle Dolby off/on again to get it back. I'm really wondering if I should bother reinstalling it, since Music isn't doing its autostart anymore anyway.
Well this is crap. Every time I reboot my Tab, I have to toggle Dolby off and on in order for audio to sound right. Time for a reset.
I suggest staying away from Disable Autoplay. It seems to have do bad things, at least to the Iconia.

S4 volume warning and Google Music auto adjsut volume

Two issues here. First is the warning about turning the volume up to loud. How can we remove this warning?
I saw someone mention going into the default music player and turning on smart volume. Problem is when I do this, all my songs start out at a real low volume. To get the sound back up, I either have to turn it up more than it was, or skip back to last song, then skip forward and it starts playing at a louder volume.
Second issue is I have noticed with Google Music on the S4 ( did not experience this with my S3) the volume at random times will adjust by itself. A song will go to a lower volume then a few seconds later come back. I see this sometimes, but not all the time.

Believe it or not, I actually experienced both of this issues myself on my S 4.
1.) I have not found a way to remove that warning natively. There are a few 'ad blocker' apk's you can install that let you adjust rules for the apk and you can set it to ignore those types of notifications on your device. Successfully doing this should fix your issue.
2.) I had this auto readjusting volume issue and mine did it often. I tried everything from reinstalling GMusic, redownloading some of my music, playing with every setting possible and nothing fixed it. I read somewhere to disable the app's service, clean the phone cache and any information for GMusic, restart the device then re-enable the GMusic service, force stop it and reopen the app.
Seems, kind of weird to me - but I haven't had the volume readjust at all.
You can force stop, enable and disable apps by going to System Settings > More > Application Manager

Stock Rom seems to have Terrible audio driver?

It it just me, or is the stock rom shocking for poor sound quality?
Popping, clicking, missed notification sounds, cut/muted odd notifications - its all very irritating.
I've had to turn all the UI sounds off because of the popping/clicking noises that follow it.
I hope they fix it.
I´m glad, that I´m not the only one with this problem.
Did you try turning OFF the Audio Effects in Settings > Sound and Notification?
Also, there is a known issue with volume ramp-up for the first 1-2 seconds of alarms and notifications sounds. Will cause a very short sound to "not play" because the first second of the audio plays at zero volume.
I use my own MP3 files edited to add 2 second silence to the beginning of the playback, as a workaround. (Also separates the vibe and sound so the sound can still be heard clearly when vibe+sound is on - the original reason I added the 2 seconds. Because I like those sounds.
There is also at least one app to force full notification/alarm playback volume from the start of playback. Haven't tried it, others have posted about it here.

Yup, turned the Audio Effects stuff - first thing I did.
It doesn't do it on 3rd party roms, Only the stock rom. It's frustrating A-F

Buzzing Sound

Hi!
A couple of months after I bought zuk z1, the sound just disappeared for notifications and when music was played through speaker, the speaker would make buzzing noise and it would fluctuate. Also, the sound level would fluctuate without even me touching the volume buttons. Sometimes, when I decreased the volume and increased it, it wouldn't increase and if I decrease it to zero, then even when I would increase it to full I wouldn't hear anything.
Flashing nuclearom fixed everything except the buzzing sound. To get rid of buzzing, I installed Viper4Android but instead of fixing it has brought back all the problems that existed earlier.
Also, the problem is only with phone speaker. The headphones and everything work fine.
Please help me!! I don't think it is a hardware issue because all these problems turn up on their own and they get fixed on their own for a time being.

Seems like you have nearly the same problem with the speaker:http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/general/low-speaker-sound-t3500648
I think the sound problem could be an hardware issue

I said it's not a hardware fault because sometimes when I would clear data and cache of Audio FX and force stop it, everything would come back to normal. However it worked most of the times but not always.

And without audio fx? Did you wipe system, data every time you install other roms?
When I would force stop audio fx the sound would become normal. Yes. I follow the normal procedure before flashing roms which includes wiping everything.
I forgot to mention one more thing. The ringtones would work when there was no notification sound. And after I unlocked the bootloader, the notification sound problem was gone but the buzzing remained. I know it sounds freaky.
And if it's hardware or speaker problem the buzzing shouldn't be there at low volume. But in my phone, it's always there. In my experience, I feel like it's a software bug. When i listen to some song and it buzzes, I can notice that the volume increases and decreases on it's own as if the system is trying to create a balance.

Dolby Atmos keeps Resetting

Here's the only problem I have with my new Axon 7:
I'm listening to Beyondpod, and I switch Dolby Atmos on and set it to Voice (I usually have it off because Poweramp sounds better with it's own DVC).
I pause Beyondpod, press play again and Atmos immediately switches to Music mode. Every. Single. Time. Every time I press pause then play, BAM straight to Music mode. What kind of bug is this?
This has happened to me with Podcast Addict, but not whenever I pause. I think it's how the Dolby Atom app is programmed. Certain apps or types of apps seem to trigger certain modes.
Yep, same random issue... Seems better since B29 (USA model), but every so often it'll reset.
I'm rooted and tried a few different "sound mods" that disabled Dolby Atmos.... I liked them, but there must be something with the A7 audio chip that throws other mods off. V4a kept losing volume and resetting to flat (even though the faders showed my settings. A few others made it distort and sound bad. So, I restored my back up and am sticking with DA for now.
Forgot to say I'm stock, B29 A2017U.
Glad it's not just me. Hopefully a patch will sort it out. I really miss Viper, but if you're having problems with it too then I'm in no rush to root to get it back!
I also have this issue... each time a new song/video is played whatever the app used, dolby resets to music preset. It seems to be another glitch of MiFavor/dolby integration. I have also posted in this thread: https: //community.zteusa.com/thread/13346 to no avail. Some moderator advised to clear all the app data, didn't work for me. So it makes dolby quite useless as for me, and the sound output of the G model isn't really its trump card to begin with. I 'm on the B05 build by the way.
