Hello everyone
I'm trying to boost volume on my tablet speakers but turns out I have absolutely no idea what I am doing.
I've been messing around with mixer_gains.xml file in system/etc/ but no matter which value I enter the volume only goes down. To be honest I only tried to change "mono playback volume" and "speaker playback volume" in 'media playback volume' category.
I'm attaching .xml file for a quick look if someone is willing to help me out. This is only file that has numeric values that I suspect need to be changed, I just don't know which one's and in what category!
I'm not asking someone to do it for me, I'm willing to do it myself - changing, testing and experimenting with it, I'm only asking for someone to help me understand what I'm looking at/for!
Thank you in advance for your help

Why don't you use one of the many apps in Play Store that are made for boosting the volume? But I'd be careful not to boost it too much and blow the speakers.
Because I'm an idiot that didn't think of that - thanks, I'll try some of them out!
But I would like to learn how to do this, it would be a great thing to know how to do!

Ok well I found the solution, if someone is interested here is what you need to do :
found the solution for htc s730 and those who don't have the registry key acoustic....:
copy both files AudioPara4_FR.csv and AudioPara3.csv to PC
change the F25 line replacing 409 by 4000.
Copy files to SD card
Copy with total commander to windows directory and remplace existing...
Worked for me !
cheers.

I found similar files from the X1 and tried to change some of the values without luck.
To me it seems though that those files control all audio output levels to different kind of devices you plug on your X1...
Here are the files if someone wants to take a look.
I have this problem with the loudspeaker. It's just too low to hear, for example, Tom Tom's instructions. Would this mod affect the speaker volume too you think?
I think by finding the right values on those files, all of the different device volume values can be adjusted. I dont know about any registry tweaks, but if someone has some ideas please share...
well i posted earlier on same issues but no reply..
anybody could well help out if you knw any tweaks..even the sound calls of the ringtone is soft..
Open the files in notepad on your pc, not in excel...
is it true that X1's speaker suck and nothing can be done about it?
In Coreplayer you can select Pre-amp in the Equalizer, set hit higher to your liking.
Actually I tested this with a Nokia mono handsfree and it worked with a normal volume, so my problem has to do with the HF and not the X1...
I have been looking around for info on this. Yes, I searched and went through a dozen pages..so nil... I don't own a Snap / Ozone, but I know someone who does. According to him, the volume on it , particularly the ringer volume, is not that loud, even after doing the registry edit to change the value in sound categories / control panel. Is there an edited audiopara file that will work on a Snap or Ozone? Or is there anyone out there that knows Exactly which lines to edit in the audiopara3 file?
And no, I heard the TP and TD audiopara tweaks dont work on this device.
Thanks in advance
I was able to get the ringer and the earpiece louder on the Ozone. I had to because I'm hearing impaired. I'm no expert at this stuff and I take no credit for the work. What I did first was modified some settings in the registry which helped a little. Then I made some changes to the AudioPara3 file. Basiclly, it was trial and error from AudioPara3 files from other phones on this forum. It works great for me. I have attached the two files.
Also, if someone can modify this file to get the Motorola H710 headset working without random disconnects from the phone(even though the call is still active) I'd appreciate it. Let me know how this works.
Rick
I posted the wrong AudioPara3 file. Here is the correct one.
May I ask what is Audiopara?
There is a file called AudioPara3 in the Windows directory. If you copy it over to a PC, you'll see it's an excel spreadsheet with values controlling many aspects of the phone. I wouldn't edit the file in excel just view. The best way to edit is in notepad. Hope this helps
Does Audiopara boost the volume without a drop in sound quality?
Hi,
My problem is different to most people's. My hearing is poor and I listen to a lot of talking books. I find the Leo too quiet and am actually still using my old HD as my main walkman.
That device was quiet for speech on busy rooads too, until I removed the imposed European decibel limit via the wonderful HD Tweak. This limit is, I have read, set in auiopara.csv as a hex value but not sure how? Or is it a registry key? If so, I can't find it!
The old HD Tweak runs on the Leo but although it says it is changing the volume limit is doesn't actually seem to do anything.
As a test I preamped PocketPlayer and ramped it right up. The volume just got more distorted (as expected) but not louder - just more compressed.
So if any kind souls know how to remove the volume limiter I'd be very grateful of any advice.
Cheers folks - Adam.
Hi Everyone,
This is my first post, so please be gentle with me. I have had a little search around, and still can't find a solution to my problem.
I recently flashed to Oz rom 1.5 , and I'm on radio 2.07.50.27_2.
So basically no matter what setting I put the volume to, my ringtone and notifications are always the loudest they can be (obviously not if its on silent or vibrate) I have tried changing ringtone back to the default one, and its exactly the same. Is there a reg edit I can do? Does anyone else suffer from this?
Let me know your thoughts!
Cheers

You can have it set to have different volumes for system sounds and ringtones.
When you click one of the volume buttons, do you have "System" and "Ring" tabs at the top of the page? If you do, make sure you're on the ring one to set ringtone volume. This can also be done from the "Sound & Display" options on the settings tab.
Hope this helps mate
Thanks johncmolyneux, I've already tried that and it makes no difference. I have it set so there is only one volume control (so system and ringtone volume is combined) ... any other ideas?
Sorry mate, I know that was a bit of an obvious thing to check, but you never know on here
I guess my only advice would be to go back to the ROM thread and ask there. Maybe it's a problem with that.
no prob mate... I have asked there as well and the chef wasn't sure either...
are there any registry things I can check? I was thinking maybe my phone thinks 'level 1' on the volume is actually 'level 5' or something?
its so annoying-scares the life out of me every time someone calls!

Having never had a problem with this myself, I've got no idea where this particular data is stored. It does sound like something that would live in the registry though, so I'm sure that someone on here will be able to help you out. There's some walking encyclopaedias of Windows registry on here! lol
Good luck getting it sorted mate.
any one out there now where in the registry I should look?
cheers in advance!
Hey!
Im trying to increase the bluetooth volume during music and I wanna know what line to edit in root explorer.
It feels like I see every option except that, or I just dont know what to look for.
Do you know what sentence to edit?
Thanks alot!
