Audiopara - Boosting volume on HTC Snap / Ozone. Any tweakers out there? - Dash 3G, Snap General

I have been looking around for info on this. Yes, I searched and went through a dozen pages..so nil... I don't own a Snap / Ozone, but I know someone who does. According to him, the volume on it , particularly the ringer volume, is not that loud, even after doing the registry edit to change the value in sound categories / control panel. Is there an edited audiopara file that will work on a Snap or Ozone? Or is there anyone out there that knows Exactly which lines to edit in the audiopara3 file?
And no, I heard the TP and TD audiopara tweaks dont work on this device.
Thanks in advance

I was able to get the ringer and the earpiece louder on the Ozone. I had to because I'm hearing impaired. I'm no expert at this stuff and I take no credit for the work. What I did first was modified some settings in the registry which helped a little. Then I made some changes to the AudioPara3 file. Basiclly, it was trial and error from AudioPara3 files from other phones on this forum. It works great for me. I have attached the two files.
Also, if someone can modify this file to get the Motorola H710 headset working without random disconnects from the phone(even though the call is still active) I'd appreciate it. Let me know how this works.
Rick

I posted the wrong AudioPara3 file. Here is the correct one.

May I ask what is Audiopara?

There is a file called AudioPara3 in the Windows directory. If you copy it over to a PC, you'll see it's an excel spreadsheet with values controlling many aspects of the phone. I wouldn't edit the file in excel just view. The best way to edit is in notepad. Hope this helps

Does Audiopara boost the volume without a drop in sound quality?

Microsoft Voice Command 1.50

When I receive a call, voice command announces it as it should, lowering the ringtone volume to announce over the top of it, problem is, it's reducing the volume too much, and I can't hear it speaking...
Does anyone know a way of:
a. Preventing voice command from lowering the volume at all?
b. Increasing the gain on voice command's announcements?
Any and all help is appreciated, thanks.
hah, when i used MS voice command my problem was that it didn't lower the ringtone enough.
I have no clue how to do what ur asking for, after a while i just turned my ringtone off and just had the announce of the name and number.
I got this CAB file from another post.
It did the trick for me.
Hi,
Start Menu->Settings->Voice Command
Choose Phone, then click Options, Remove checkbox to 'announce incoming calls'. Now your ringtone will rin normally.

What does this cab file do? is it modification to Voice command, or is a simple registry hack?
Hello
Use any registry editor like resco and do the following
Goto current user
Then control panel
Then sound categories
Then voicecommand1
And change the atenuationcategory from 3 to 1
That will do the thing. The lady will be louder.
Theses suggestions seem to make little or no difference, the only change seems to be that the music isn't turned down as much.
I've tried manually making the changes, and running/instaling the cab file "MPIIIMan" presented me with.
Is there any way I can physically change the program to increase the gain? I don't mind if I have to dissassemble code or anything to make changes, but i'd like to get it sorted...
I'd use cyberon, but I can't find ANY working links for it on either Limewire, IRC, or any websites, either the full program or a demo... Has it dissappeared from existance???

This worked for me. Made the lady louder - ringtone volume remained the same. Thanks.
BTW, I noticed there's another setting in that registry key called "initvol" and it's said to 5. My best guess would be initial volume? Anyone try playing with that to see what that does?

Can you explain exactly what htis cab does, or maybe link us to its original post?
I got this cab file from another post.
You would have just as much luck finding it as I would.
I believe it's just a registry edit

"InitVol"=dword:00000005

Speaker 2 loud!

When I receive a call and put the phone to my ears, the speaker is too loud even set to minimum, Is there a hack that can adjust this?
If I put everything on speaker phone, the speaker is also too loud but not so anoying, but on the other hand people complain they don't hear me, so the mic
is set too low.
How can I modify this, help needed.

Why not just lower the volume. Better too loud than too soft... right?
The volume is set to minimum and is still shouts.
And I keep asking people to speak a little bit more quiet and thay say they speak normal.
So my speaker is ultra I suposse, but can I shut it up a bit?
Have exactly the same problem with all 3 M3100's that I've had. Is yours an M3100 too?
I notice that on hard reset, when the extended ROM is executed it runs an application called something like AdjustAcousticProperties. I wonder if this is doing it?

... whereas on the stock HTV Tytn, the volume is too low! If there's any way of extracting this AdjustAcousticProperties, it might be a real plus for us Tytn owners for whom the volume is too low.
Thanks!
Yes, mine is SPV M3100 too. I will look at the extended rom folder If I have that file.
Any solution?
The file would be great, thanks.
The only solution I can think of is a hard reset and an interrupt when the extROM cabs are loading (eg, don't let the AdjustAcousticProperties load)
Donno about you guys .. but my TyTN .. on speakers .. even with the lowest volume .. SEEMS WAY TOOOOOO LOUDD ...
Yes, on speakerphone, but we're talking about the earpiece volume here, I think...
PLEASE! if you can extract this file I'll like to try it out.
My earpiece of the tytn is SSSHHHIIIIITTTTEEE! its way to soft for me also.
I'm sorry your having the complete opposite problem that some of us are. I wish i could offer a solution for you but if you can offer a solution to some of us, that would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers and thanks
I can post the CAB's somewhere if somebody else would like to take a dig around inside of them?
[edit] Just realised the Orange Extended ROMs are on the site already -

I'm using a Vario II with the same problem.
With speakerphone turned on, even when it is set to the absolute minimum, the speaker screeches....it's that loud!

Hmm, can't see the CAB for AdjustAcousticProperties in the list anywhere, unless I'm being blind...
Anyone help? I'd love to increase the earpiece volume on my Tytn
I presume it's a .exe file buried inside one of the CABs. not sure how you go about decoding the contents of them though as all the files are renamed.
[edit] Just been looking around inside the CAB's using 'Wince cab manager' and nothing appears obvious. I'm sure I'm not dreaming... maybe the application is buried in there somewhere but the name isn't obvious as I have definitely seen it displaying something very close to 'SetAcousticParams' or 'AdjustAcousticProperties' during the execution of a contents of the extended ROM.
If I get time tomorrow I'll do a backup and then do a hard reset to check.
Andy.
Andy,
Great, many thanks!
Just did a hard reset - First thing it does when running the Extended ROM is at the bottom of the screen it says "Running SetAcousticParam.exe /Run..." which takes about a minute to run. Then when it installs the other CAB's you see "Installing ...... " at the bottom of the screen instead. Not sure where the exe is coming from now to be honest as it *doesn't* appear to be in the CAB's.
Andy.
Hmm, interesting. Don't suppose this file is buried somewhere in you windows folder heirarchy is it?
Thanks for helping out here!
Isnt there a reg key u can change the quality level and other things for speaker and speaker phone ,
I rememmber it on my htc wizard.
Hi!
I have totally opposite problem; my original handsfree is too quiet when listening music via Media Player. Every sound setting in the device is at maximum; Media Players volumebar is set to 100%, I scroll devices overall volume to max and slide that little knob at the HF to max. Yet it aint as loud as I would like to. And no, I´m not half deaf or such.
Allso while listening music without HF, I would like to have the device more louder.
Any hints about good 3rd party equalizer programs out there? Like such that the WinAmp (for Microsoft XP) EQ is.
Karzi, yes theres these regkeys which enables one to adjust the quality of the audio, but not it loundness. So I keep searching for programs what would allow to adjust even music loudness, ie equalizers. Anyone?

It *appears* to be... but I can't seem to find it. Found a script called preconfig.txt in \windows which seems to govern what happens on the first powerup after a hard reset, which contains the following:
LOCK:Enabled
EXEC:\Windows\SetAcousticParam.exe /Run
EXEC:\Windows\SetHSDPA.exe /Enable
EXEC:\Windows\cusTSK.exe \Windows\Orange2006.tsk
CAB: \Windows\MP_CVSDcpl_20060503.cab
CAB: \Windows\MP_MMS3.2_Hermes_OrangUKWWE_060601.CAB
XML: \Windows\PP_Cerfiticate.xml
XML: \Windows\PP_Generic_Conn_Setting.xml
XML: \Windows\PP_Generic_UI.xml
XML: \Windows\PP_Others_Conn_Setting.xml
XML: \Windows\PP_others_UXC.xml
Hide:Enabled
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\autorun.exe
LOCKisabled
RST: Reset
Looks like it does loads of stuff before it executes the extended ROM. Still can't find the exe though!

Need help removing start-up sound

Hello all,
I have searched & searched. I've read the Wiki and found the info there, more than once. I'm just not "techie" and need more details. I absolutely hate the loud startup sound on the AT&T 8525 that came on my new phone.
I downloaded the Resco trial and I've spent hours trying to find the correct file to "fix" but I just haven't been able to find it. I also like the animation, just not the sound. It looks like just adjust the WAV file, when I finally find it on my phone?
Sorry, but any additional help (Step by Step if possible) you can give me would be greatly appreciated. This sound is driving me & my husband nuts.
After much searching and many hours, the Voice Command works great! Very pleased with that, this forum is awesome.
MsGadget
I assume you are referring to the following?:
Disable/change the startup animation or sound
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimationEnabled - change from 1 to 0 to turn everything off and permanently fix the volume issue.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimationVolumn - change from 16 to 200 (higher number = lower volume) to lower the volume to a whisper but keep the animation.
You can also customize the animated boot up by deleting or changing 2 keys. (Doing this does not fix the volume issue)
Delete the WAVFile Key to remove the sound only.
Delete the GIFFile Key to remove the animation only.
Put your own .GIF file or .WAV file on the phone and rewrite the 2 keys (WAVFile GIFFile) to the new file location. i.e. \My Documents\Files\CustomAnimation.gif
It will help us to know where you are getting stuck.
Can you find thw key HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimation using Resco?
Mike
That's what I found, but I can't find the file to change in Resco. I tried to do a search in Resco for the file, but no luck. What does it mean by doesn't fix volume issues?
Sorry, but I've been reading & searching for 3 days now. I'm not the least bit techie, but I love my gadgets!
Thank you!

Ok. One step at a time perhaps.
First you are not using Resco to look for a file but an entry(s) in the Registry. So the first thing to do is to go into Resco and look through the menus for something like "Edit the Registry". I use PHM registry Editor so I'm not sure what menu it's in but it will be in the Resco menus somewhere.
Mike
Download total commander, its free and I know for sure it works.
HKLM is the area of the registry, SOFTWARE is the folder, HTC the next folder and then look for StartupAnimationEnabled
Change the value from 1 to 0, then put the device into sleep for 15 seconds (hit the power button, but dont turn it off) and then do a soft reset.
When it reboots, it will be the way you want it.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimationEnabled - change from 1 to 0 to turn everything off and permanently fix the volume issue
Thank you both very much. I'll work on it again when I get home. Wish me luck. Thank goodness for Sprite backup.
Mona
mikechannon & teknics,
I'm so happy, I got it to work. Your step-by-step instructions were very clear. I greatly appreciate both of you taking the time to share the basics of how & where to start.
Most others in this type of forum probably know where to begin, but I really needed the very basics. The knowledge you provided is very valuable!
Thanks again,
MsGadget
Pleased you got it to work - future registry changes will be a piece of cake
Mike
Agreed!
Not a problem, that's why we are all here right?

Ok well I found the solution, if someone is interested here is what you need to do :
found the solution for htc s730 and those who don't have the registry key acoustic....:
copy both files AudioPara4_FR.csv and AudioPara3.csv to PC
change the F25 line replacing 409 by 4000.
Copy files to SD card
Copy with total commander to windows directory and remplace existing...
Worked for me !
cheers.

I found similar files from the X1 and tried to change some of the values without luck.
To me it seems though that those files control all audio output levels to different kind of devices you plug on your X1...
Here are the files if someone wants to take a look.
I have this problem with the loudspeaker. It's just too low to hear, for example, Tom Tom's instructions. Would this mod affect the speaker volume too you think?
I think by finding the right values on those files, all of the different device volume values can be adjusted. I dont know about any registry tweaks, but if someone has some ideas please share...
well i posted earlier on same issues but no reply..
anybody could well help out if you knw any tweaks..even the sound calls of the ringtone is soft..
Open the files in notepad on your pc, not in excel...
is it true that X1's speaker suck and nothing can be done about it?
In Coreplayer you can select Pre-amp in the Equalizer, set hit higher to your liking.
Actually I tested this with a Nokia mono handsfree and it worked with a normal volume, so my problem has to do with the HF and not the X1...

[TESTED 100% WORKING]Increase ALL of your X2's volume by 200%!!

This solution increases:
MICROPHONE VOLUME
IN-CALL VOLUME
SPEAKER VOLUME
RINGTONE VOLUME
MUSIC PLAYER VOLUME
and has been tested and working 100%
I've decided to share a ONCE-AND-FOR-ALL solution for all the X2 users and the general population of windows mobile users.
Here's the solution:
First, you need totalcommander. Google it.
1) Open TotalCommander
2) Go to ftp\\registry\HKCU
3) Change ALL the following to the value specified:
HKCU/Control Panel\Phone\vol\65535 (General volume of the X2 including microphone input!)
HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/InCall/Initvol\5
HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/Ring/5
HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/System/5
HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/Attentuation\All to 5
HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/InCall/InitVol\5
HKCU/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/Ring/InitVol\5
4) Soft-reset
5) Press the volume up key and set it to the 5th indicator (Max)
6) Press volume up key 1 more time, and you will hear an additional beep 200% louder and the indicator marker remains the same at the 5th marker on the top. This means you have sucessfully tweaked your volume!
6) Do step 5 again with in-call and congrats!
Enjoy your beloved X2 =)
I am satisfied with the default volume levels and will leave it as is.
Do note people, increasing output levels beyond the specified levels can damage your speakers!
sounds good. is it possible for someone to make a registry file of this? so we can just run it and it does it all for us noobs lol. (like the sd card fix)
although im not sure i need to increase the microphone input level, is it possible to leave that out.

I've been dealing with low volume issue of WM since my O2 atom but not for my Samsung Valencia (c6625), so I just copied all samsung's ringtones and alarms from my valencia and use it in my X2, hahaha . they are sound nicer and louder! SE could have done much much better providing us lots of (nice and loud) ringtones just like samsung did.
i have found a program that increases your volume
Many Many Many thanks to HS_LuKa_ i want to tell that the application is perfect and sound is very loud and if u receive error when run it first time just restart the phone ,
thanks again HS_LuKa_
