if you are able to boot to download mode then you can use lgup tool along with the patched v20dll and use it flash 11g or newer kdz if available and you should be good to go.

Have you installed LG's USB drivers? (Download here)
Then connect your G6 to the PC and run the command fastboot devices to check if your device is listed.

If your phone is in fastboot mode then you can run fastboot commands but i feel they're useless because your phone is bricked so take it to a service center

I had same problem.
Connect usb cabel to PC.
Make reboot: hold vol- and power buttons
When display off, release these buttons and press and hold vol+.
Do it quickly. You will see download mode.
Good luck)

when turning it on hold volume down and power button at the same time. Then when the LG logo comes up let go and hold them down again and press the power key twice to get into the recovery or maybe it will boot up normally.
Hey thanks for the reply, i tried your trick it doesn't work then i followed the fix with ubuntu, after that no more black screen I'm now stuck on the LG logo all the time .
Help !!
If you can enter download mode, try flashing appropriate kdz file to your phone.
You can also try to install pdanet and check with that. Select the device and proceed. Once the drivers are installed .. Try flashing the stock... Lemme know of this works

If you successfully transferred the correct recovery image using dd commands you should be able to boot into recovery. Have you tried booting into recovery after dd command? I did not even push the other files listed in guide, all I pushed was recovery image and it booted like a charm. Keep in mind I do own the VS980 variant, although it should be the same process just different image files.
So i did use the dd command on it, and transfered the openrecovery twrp for f320s but it just cannot boot on it with vol down and power

Well to enter the recovery you supposed to hold down Vol+ & Power until LG logo appears, release both, and then immediately press&hold those two buttons again.
Can you get your device in adb mode?

PDANET is the key
Did u try using the pdanet? I was exactly in the same situation as u are. No matter if the lg drivers are installed.... The pc won't recognize the phone as ADB.EXE had stopped working. Here is what I did:
1) install pdanet.
2) it asked me to select the device and then it installed the drivers.
4) with this hopefully the ADB.EXE should start in your device manager. In my case it did.
5) go to google adb bundle folder.
6) go to SDK>platform tools> and paste your CM and gapps there.
7) try bridging the connection by going into the command prompt > and CD into the platform tools directory.
8) in the cmd put the command 'amd push "CM NAME" /sdcard/' and hit enter
9) this should push the file onto the phone... Do the same for gapps... And install it from the TWRP.
10) ALL THE BEST

When I bricked mine at the LG logo, I got into download mode by

Connect your phone to pc via cable..keep the power button pressed and when it turns off, press volume up and hold it until the phone starts..and maybe it will enter in download mode... I was stuck to fastboot too some months ago and this worked for me
If you have installed OxygenOS 3.0 and when you try to boot recovery mode, or other case, your phone stuck on boot, here's the solution. It's easy, you only have to enter this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=16684 and download the content. After unzip, connect your phone in fastboot mode (on/off button + volume up button) and execute the script that is in the folder unziped (firstaid.bat in windows or fistaid.sh in linux). Now it's possible that system don't boot, but now you have TWRP recovery and you can install the ROM that you want. If you don't want that your phone becomes to stuck on boot, please, read the instructions in this link: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/installation-instructions-faqs-oxygenos-3-0-0.439108 before install again OxygenOS 3.0.
Summary:
Before all this you have to install the adb/fastboot and your phone drivers.
1- Download the firstaid tool from http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=16684
2- Put the phone in fastboot mode (on/off button + volume up button) and connect to pc
3- Execute the script (firstaid.bat in windows or fistaid.sh in linux)
Now you have recovery again.
4- If you want to install OxygenOS 3.0, follow the instructions of https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/installation-instructions-faqs-oxygenos-3-0-0.439108
I've been a lot of hours searching a solution for the problem and it's very annoying. It's a pleasure to help you for don't lose your time like me.

It goes back straight to fastboot after LG logo
If you can get into download mode try the 'upgrade' option in lgup
It is stuck in fastboot because your customer tried to root it with lafsploit without unlocking the bootloader.
They have two choices:
1 - Send it to LG to have it repaired.
2 - Wait for me to finish lafsploit 2.0 which will unlock their bootloader, and their phone will just start working.
The partitions that hold the unlock information are not touched when you flash a KDZ, so no amount of flashing is going to fix it.

If you cant get into download mode by powering off, holding vol up and then plugging into a pc (no power button needed) then you dont have a phone anymore. Unless rooted via dirtysanta which replaces aboot (which provides fastboot), the stock fastboot mode of the h918 can't actually flash anything to the phone which means no unbricking with it; TWRP and download mode are only ways to restore firmware.
I know this is an old thread but my gf has the h918 which is unlocked with twrp Installed, she tried updating magisk from inside magisk and now she's stuck in fastboot mode .The fastboot reboot command does not reboot the phone I even booted into twrp and wiped cache any ideas?

Download Mode? I don't think non-Samsung phones have a download mode, do you mean fastboot mode? If you unlocked the bootloader, Install LG usb drivers and use 'adb reboot-bootloader' to reboot into fastboot mode, from here you can use 'fastboot flash recovery XXX.img' to flash a twrp image and use TWRP to install ROMs
I've had a few lg phones and from a power off state just hold volume down and plug the usb in while it's connected to the computer.
I might be remembering that wrong, try volume up and plug as well.
My current lg has no development so it's been a while
