I just updated my Tab 10.1 to 8.1 the other day and I would like to root it. So i have gone into the Software information and under Build Number it has M1AJQ.T580UEU4CRK5. I have gone over to sammobile and gotten the T580UEU4CRK5_T580XAR4CRK7_XAR file.
And i was just wondering if that is the right one, if it is which version of TWRP should i use to flash it.
Hello,
Follow this link and jump to the page 57: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...overy-official-twrp-gtaxlwifi-galaxy-t3437666
And for TWRP i use that : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78148267&postcount=170
I use this topic to looking/request a patched boot for build T580XXU4CRK5. Thanks
Is possible to use the previous build files patched by Ashyx ??

Hello.
I just recently got Galaxy S5 which appears to be only sold in Japan. There's some custom firmware installed on it which prevents Android to be updated. Phone doesn't have SIM locked, so any SIM card can be used.
Because the forum doesn't allow me to post link to a screenshot which shows firmware info I'll just write it down.

I'd like to completely wipe this firmware from the device, replace it with the latest Android version (6.0?) and root it. At first I'd like to know if it's even possible to do any kind of firmware changes on this model and what exactly do I need to perform the update/root.
Thanks.
Doesn't look like there is a 6.0 stock ROM for it, but you can upgrade to 5.0 here
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?r=&v=&q=SCL23
Flash with ODIN (Instructions all over the forum many times)
Okay, instructions on updato seems quite easy to follow so that shouldnt be a problem. Is there any recommended tool for root? I've found a lot of them and I really don't want to mess something up.
PS: How come there's no stock ROM for 6.0 even tho it's been mentioned in some articles that SCL23 model is also supported by Marshmallow update?
Anyone?
Okay, update to 5.0 passed without any issues. There are some default japanese applications on the phone which I cannot uninstall, is it possible to get rid of those somehow?
I have the same device Do you update succeeded or not
I installed Android 6.0.1 and the network was missing help someone Galaxy scl23 or give the firmware 4.4.2 or help to find the GSM network

Go to this link & download 4.4.2 then follow this tutorial.
Make sure to use key input from the options & use capital letters where needed. All being well you will have everything working again.
Make sure not to use any download manager for the download link. File gets about 100kbps so it'll take a few hours but you will get it.
I did the above then rooted the phone & flashed correct TWRP version to it then flashed 5.0 Lollipop SpaceX rom here. Everything working good & no loss of service on reset or reboot.
Hope it helps
I'm having a really hard time with this device. First off I picked up this device for $20 and I thought I would be able to easily flash Lineage OS on it and use it as a household phone and remote control. I really want to use it with Lineage OS so I can connect my google voice to it as well as use it as a remote control and for connecting my apps. So far I have tried several methods. I installed the Samsung USB Drivers and I put the phone in USB Debugging Mode and then booted the phone into Download Mode and ODIN keeps telling me FAIL on (auth). It doesn't matter what I try to flash, even if it's official firmware files it still won't flash.
Can ANYONE please help me figure this out? The latest firmware on this device appears to be:
Model Number: SM-G900V
Firmware Version: G900VVRU2DQL1.
Kernel Version: 3.4.0 [email protected] #1 Friday, September, 29, 2017.
Build Number: MMB29M.G900VVRU2DQI2
Hardware Version: G900V.05
Security Software Version: MDF V1.1 Release 6, VPN V1.4 Release 6.0, ASKS V1.2 Release 161011
Configuration Version: J13.SAM.SMG900V.1
Android Version: 6.0.1
Download Mode reports the following:
ODIN MODE
Product Name: SM-G900V
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Reactivation Lock: Off
QualComm SecureBoot: ENABLE (CSB)
RP SWREV: S1, T2, R1, A2, P1
Secure Download: Enable
UDC Start
Secure Check Fail : recovery
Update: I was able to flash a kernel with a md5 just now. It's the lolipop kernel. So now I imagine only verified md5 files will flash? I would like to flash a recovery so I can install Lineage OS.
Update: Now I bricked the phone lmao.
Update: Now I imagine I need the stock Marshmallow kernel to flash it back so I can at least have a working phone. Where is the stock Marshmallow kernel?

Sound like you have a bootloader locked version: (
I don't have much experience with G900V variety, perhaps @Ibuprophen would be able to clarify.

The following thread outlines the 2 CID versions used on the G900V device, how to obtain which one you have (with only 1 of the CIDs that has an unlockable bootloader) and your options for each one. Be sure to carefully read the OP.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3561529
The following thread covers an alternative way to obtain the Stock Firmware and PIT files your looking for that's specific to the G900V device. It also has an easy how-to steps for flashing them in Odin as well.

Lol no, just bowing to greater experience
The CID APK reports that the eMMC Chip / CID Number starts with 15 and thus has an unlockable bootloader. How do I now unlock the bootloader on this device now that I know it is unlockable?

Awesome I got the bootloader unlocked by using the guide you posted. But now, after I installed the MAGISK firmware from TWRP, I rebooted the phone and its stuck on the Verizon Logo and won't boot into Android. Also, how do I install Lineage OS now? I downloaded the latest Lineage OS build for KLTE from the official Lineage OS server and I placed the ZIP package in the phone internal memory. I had attempted to install that zip file from the TWRP recovery mode, but it said it couldn't flash / install it.
Do I need to upgrade the TWRP version to flash it? Also, android just booted for me as I was typing this.. it just took a long time.
UPDATE:
woohoo! I got LineageOS installed. It's starting the bootup for it as I type this! This literally took me all day long to flash this stuff on here because I had to study the forum posts and figure out what to do. Thankfully the guides are simple and the steps are in logical order.
I got it flashed by installing busybox and TWRP on the MAGISK firmware. After it booted up the MAGISK Android firmware I went and installed the official busybox and TWRP applications from the Playstore, then I flashed the recovery with the latest TWRP recovery image, rebooted to recovery and installed the latest Lineage OS nightly build. It is currently booting up Lineage OS! Thank you so much ibuprofin!
I will be writing a detailed guide for unlocking the bootloader, installing the latest TWRP and installing the latest Lineage OS Firmware for the Galaxy S5 ( SM-G900V ). I will be downloading and organizing each file into a thoroughly organized directory system and post the guide and download link in a new forum topic post here.

This is already covered...
The following Guide includes the steps for unlocking the Bootloader for the SM-G900V device with a CID15 (and more)...

... The following is a link to the Official LineageOS Wiki page that covers the installation of the LineageOS Custom Firmware.

It's up to you regarding what you want to do but, I just wanted to provide you with the information already available.
I wish you the best of luck!

Thx for your reply but i know Since I'm satisfied with Android 9, it's not a problem (about 48h of battery life with the stock rom installed).
But no one can answer to my question please ? A major part of this forum is dedicated to root and no one can answer me ?
no answer so I will root the older one.... Useless post, last time I'm asking help here
I think you can root all

Another one to suggest me ?
DON'T FLASH the firmware G950FXXU5DSFB if you want to install TWRP, it seems it's not compatible with this version.
I tried to flash it on my phone and now the recovery partition is buged.
EDIT : I was wrong. After reboot, the system needed to install some updates (maybe because of the upgrade of the bootloader - v4 to v5) that's why I could not flash TWRP. After a full boot (I've done the initial setup) and then a reboot, I was able to flash recovery.

What happend?
Make sure u do all the steps correctly or else won't work .
I can confirm because I've tested to flash and root all these firmwares : it works for all of them. Now I'm searching if it is TWRP or DM-verity or RMM-state which modifies and pollutes the settings menu by adding some useless entries... (see the screenshots)

U cannot update from firmware 73
U need to be on older firmware for it to install successfully(72 i think)
Downgrade to Firmware 72 than try installing Android 10 and remember to check the zip for errors first before upgrading.
Guidance Needed

May I get some guidance regarding such downgrading??
And will I lose packet updates provided by asus (In the future too), if I go through with this downgrading procedure [and subsequent upgradation to android 10/Beta] ?
You'll need an unlocked Bootloader, modified firmware 72 & TWRP installed to downgrade.
Search for videos on youtube for downgrading.
My apologies if I accidently broke the rules with this post. I haven't posted for a long time and I'm a bit rusty on use of this forum.
I have a Galaxy Tab A that I have been trying to load TWRP on, without success. I am convinced the reason is that the TWRP files ae for the wrong hardware.
After calling Samsung tech support here is the info I can provide to identify the tablet.
Samsung SM-T350NZWAXAR gt58wifi-gt58wifixx-smt350 Build number NMF26XT350XXU1CQJ5
Now when I search for the TWRP tar file, the only thing close to a match for the hardware is codename a8hplte . I selected the most recent TWRP file.
Well, I've flashed that tar file using Odin several times but I still get the stock recovery when I boot into recovery .
Is it possible that Samsung has a device for which TWRP doesn't work? I'm hoping someone out there has the same model and can tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks in advance.
Forgot to mention, I sent an email query to TWRP. They didn't respond. No help whatsoever.
No idea where you were looking, but the 1st page of the rom, kernel + recovery subforum for the Samsung tab already has a thread with TWRP for the SM-T350.
Now it's not my specific tablet so idk if it works, but you can just read the thread and ask there.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I had been trying to get a image/tar file from the official TWRP website. Now, I also saw the page you provided a link to. When I read it, I saw that the version (
twrp_3.1.0-1_sm-t350_18317.tar) that was recommended is in a category labeled "for Marshmallow only). What I have is Nougat, and in that category there is no SM-350 TWRP file. So if you would please help me one more time; Should I be using the file from the Marshmallow only category, or the Nougat for SM-355 (which doesn't match what I have)? Thank you again for your assistance.

Like I said - it's not MY device, so I suggest you ask in the linked thread as the users there will HAVE the device and know better
download ROM/firmware (lowest possible version) from https://www.sammobile.com according to your CSC, repair tablet with Odin3, and unlock bootloader first
