Call for devs - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hi to All,
And specially to devs.
I have one question. Do you think it is possible to increase brightness intensity during night mod.
With Oreo and Pie we have now have option to enable night mod which dim the screen and bring blue filter at night.
Altrought the blue filter is weak regarding what APK like c.lumen or f.lux can propose.
The thing is that c.lumen do not work anymore on devices above marshmallow and f.lux stop to work when screen is wake up trough fingerprint or so.
I wonder if there is a way to tweak directly Pie night mod, maybe via magisk mod, so we have deeper blue filter without the need of side APK that work more or less.
Thank you for reading... And answering.

If you're willing to try another app... Night Light works well if you use a kernel that supports KCAL (e.g. ElementalX or blu_spark).

Note: This is the donate version, there's also a free version. But it's worth every penny.

Will give it a try. Altrought messing with kernel isn't my thing.
I will read carefully the thread about elementalx

i will try it!
Hi,
I use this Rom for two months and works very well!
I seem to be experiencing the opposite problem to what everyone else on this forum is experiencing.
Whenever I make or receive a call, the ear volume is always set to the highest which is too loud especially when in quiet environments as everyone around me can hear what the other person on the end of the line is saying, plus it almost deafens me.
Even when I turn the volume down during a call, it always defaults back to maximum volume during the next call.
I looked under the "volumes" section in the settings but can't seem to see an option for this.
I tried to solve with GravityBox - Expandable volume panel, but again volume after call by itself is setting to max
Can anyone help me on this please.
I also found many Chinese custom ROMs, but I am not sure I can post it without DEVs permission.

bluelight filter and system lag

Dear Xda,
This would be my first post after reviving my athene which was hardbricked caused due to a downgrade after installing the june update. Thanks alott people, you really saved me.
This post is regarding the ghost screen issue which I am facing on my xt1643 since the beginning. As I'm out of my warranty period I use the bluelight filter to handle the situation. But is it only me who thinks that the bluelight filer sucks more battery compared when not using it as well as it makes the device laggy in terms of general ui performance.
Correct me if I'm wrong and also suggestions are always welcome.
Thanks alott mates.

Don't use that blue light filter app, i do not know which rom are you currently using, but you can root your device and change the RGB values, normally the guys here with that problem set the 3 values (R,G,B) to 240.
You can do it from a kernel manager app, like EXManager (paid), Kernel Adiutor (free), etc, in the graphics section.
Too much low temp causes screen lag on stock 7.0, i think that is why the night light was dropped from 7.0.. try any 7.1 custom ROM, that should work fine with low temp..

adjustable torch

Hey there fires anyone know of a torch/flashlight app as mentioned in the title. I tried a rom from the snapdragon section and it had one. Here is a screen shot taken from another eom with the same feature.
It'd be cool to use the low setting to help save battery but then be able to use high when needed.

No blue light filter on Oreo

So me and my wife are pretty disappointed that there's still no blue light filter on the G4, she does a lot of night reading on it before bed so having the blue filter on Nougat (via night mode enabler by Mike Evans) was a big deal.
I was under the impression that Oreo was the first Android release that "officially" had a blue light filter feature, so I'm pretty confused about why it's not there other then the fact motorola probably doesn't genuinely care enough to add it.
But anyway, does anyone know of a way to enable it simular to Nougat? I can't find anything about it or I'm just missing it. I did see I'm not the only one looking for a way, so hopefully someone has an idea.

I'm having the same issue after updating yesterday to 8.1. No nite mode anywhere. So I googled and found what seemed like a reasonable workaround.... add the UI Tuner category to Settings by long pressing the Settings cog in the quick menu. However, I then found that did nothing. No UI Tuner, unlike when I had it on 7.0. The idea was to install the UI Tuner, then download Nite Mode from the Play Store.
So, I downloaded the UI Tuner from the Play Store, only to find it was weird. It didn't place an icon on my homepage or in Apps or the App Drawer. It was supposed to put the UI Tuner category in Settings under System, but it didn't. It did place a sort of icon on my homepage so I pressed it and got the UI Tuner list. However when I tested out a couple functions on it, they didn't seem to do anything. So, another feature Motorola decided to leave off the Moto G4 (I have a G4 Plus), the UI Tuner.
You might try these things and see if they work for you. Unfortunately they were of no help to me. I called Motorola, spoke to a 2nd Level Tech. He knew nothing about it and kept repeating my issue back to me as they like to do. So we scheduled a 3rd level tech to call tomorrow, who will no doubt tell me to factory reset the phone, which of course won't help and would be a lot of work for nothing.
I tried one of the 3rd party filter apps, but didn't like it. Guess I'll try a couple others.

Background processes limit in build.prop?

Hi guys. It's been a while, when I was playing with custom ROMs and stuff years ago. Most things forgotten now, so please help me to recall some things I'm using the Oneplus 5 8/128 version, original OOS (9.0.5 now), and no root at all. The standard background processes limit is not enough. I realized that even the Lux Brightness is killed after some hours. With 8gigs of RAM? Why? Anyway, please help me achieve that:
- I don't need root at all
- I extensively use Google Pay, thus I need SafetyNet working too
- most probably, I only would need a modification of build.prop file
- most probably I would need to flash custom Recovery
What is fresh and current way to do it? If that is possible, I want it all without loosing any data. If that is not possible, OK I can setup it all from scratch.
Please point me to the correct knowledge here on XDA - I feel a bit lost. So I was helping the community years ago, now I'm asking for help for myself
P.S. maybe, there is a way to modify the system automatic brightness somehow, to behave similar to Lux Brightness? The system one is very bad, too dark/too bright and reacts foo fast for me...
