Today i am just playing Pubg game with my friend. Suddenly my mobile got hanged! I thought it's just game got struck but it's not the case. I can't go to homescreen hardware buttons are not responding. I called to my phone through other phone but my X dual looks blank with pubg screen and it didn't rang but i can hear the ringing sound from the other phone i called. Then I removed the simslot, i thought phone will restarts but it's just showing the pubg game screen. I don't know what to do now. I plugged the phone for charging. It's not showing any charging indication red light also. Oh God! I didn't faced such issue. I am playing pubg everyday. yesterday also my phone got strucked while playing but i just pressed the home button and it worked. But now, the situation got worse.
I pressed all hardware buttons at once after that my phone got restarted without any problem. About 20 to 30 minutes even after removing the simslot it shown the same pubg game screen! Oh god! I am feeling so happy right now.
I think it's a bug in a pubg game. my friend also encountered the same problem in his moto mobile yesterday only after getting killed by a enemy, but both of our devices responded when we pressed the home button! Today i don't understand why my mobile got hanged up suddenly in the middle of gameplay like that!
Next time, hold down both Power and Volume Up button for about 10 seconds (until you hear 3 short vibrations) and the phone should restart.
X is not a gaming device!
should you be playing pubg make sure your device is rooted and debloated and nothing else is running in background! also make sure the device temperature is in controll! you are going to fry that weak processor SD650 !,
play pubg after removing any book cover or skin! and i may sound little crazy! if device gets heated! put it in a fridge for few mins! let it cool down!

No, it's not what you think actually Pubg is performing way better than you expect. I am playing that game everyday with low graphics even though it looks and performs so great. I am in stock 8.0 OS and i don't play with that cover on. I really didn't faced so much heat playing Pubg even with fan off! I just forcestop every apps and with some necessary apps working in background i still have 1.2 to 1.4gb free RAM everytime!
The only thing I am not getting good is battery performance while playing Pubg! In a hour my mobile will charge definitely 0 to 85 percent! But after the gameplay or watching movies online battery drains faster 100 to 40 in a hour! I just bought this X dual recently about 5 months. So i am getting good battery life only for browsing Internet, watching YouTube vids and other casual use! But for gaming as i said it's drains so fast!
The one thing i do to have a good battery is i don't play games when my mobile reaches 35 percent. Everytime i charge my phone when it hits 35 percent.

Android, Onlive.. oooooh such a lovely feeling.. Until i started playing with it..
Battery was at 50%, started to play onlive, saw that my battery was dropping very quickly so i plugged the phone into the outlet so it would start charging, carried on with my onlive gaming session, 30 minutes later my phone turned off, nomorepwah (battery indicator mod) opened up stating i had 0% battery left.. My phone was not charging while playing Onlive. It had dropped from 50% to 0% within half hour with my phone plugged in! No apps were running in the background.
To determine if my battery was at fault i put the phone on charge overnight while onlive was 'not running', and it charged fine and is still holding charge today as normal.
Also another thing.. My phone started to overheat within minutes, ok im used to it getting hot but hell the screen was burning my fingers while using the controls.. And i tried to crank the brightness up on the screen as the games were too dark, to find out that it wouldn't let me crank it any higher than 70%, showing that the phone was being detected as too hot.. So I had to play with a darker brightness than i wanted.
Onlive is the culprit.
Phone specs :
Sensation Rom 1.5, 2.6.35.7 [email protected] kernal, Kh3 baseband
How can I enjoy such a service if the battery wont even hold charge and i'm subject to stinging fingers while using the onscreen controls.
Don't get me wrong, I like Onlive I really do, its great, the one of the best things to come to Android gamers in a while.

I think this is a general problem when it comes to screen/graphic/CPU demanding apps like games and some Navigation SW (in my case Copilot Premiere Live eating battery).
Screen sure is the worst culprit so lowering brightness is best, but some kind of CPU tuner apps might also be part of a solution if your kernel support lowering CPU frequency (max 800 MHz).

Was playing Onlive before on my Galaxy S2, its great but touchscreen control for it, meh. I didnt experience that hot heat you had said but that maybe because.
Governor: Lionheart
Clockspeed: 500-800Mhz
Undervolted
80% Brightness
As for battery I had 78% if I remember correctly and in a hour I had like 35% (?) left. I am using 2000Mah but still you 50% in 30 minutes is due to high clockspeed or something and brightness I guess.
I'm having heat issue. phone heats up to around 100 during normal usage (texting, web browsing, social media) and unsuprisingly gets much hotter during games or youtube, around 105 F. Those temps are from a batter app, and the hotspot on the phone feels like it is up around the dimple. Certainly feels hotter than 105. Not so sure it is the battery causing a majority of the heat .... Still have a few days to return/exchange at best buy, so any advice is appreciated
No restarts due to heat yet. Have rebooted in safe mode, seems somewhat better after watching a 10 min youtube video... Can actually play fallout shelter in safe mode somehow, and the heat isn't as bad in safe mode as it is regularly. Temp stays around 100 F. Any way to see if it is an optimization issue without a factor reset and reinstall?
neglected to mention - this all happens while connected to wifi
Any phone that I've owned that I felt was to hot i exchanged it. It's paid off every time to do so. Good luck.
Mine was very hot
I dropped it off at Fed Ex to send it back a few minutes ago. I liked it a lot, but it was hitting 112 F within 5 minutes of browsing chrome/Facebook/Twitter. I've never had a phone get hot like that, unless I playing a game for an hour, or watching back to back to back videos over the LTE.
I could have exchanged it, but I will wait for the Nexus 5 and then make a decision of if I will order a new one or the Nexus.

So anyone else having this same issue?
To be honest, I've only had the Moto X heat up when I first got the phone and was downloading apps. And even then it didn't get as hot as my M8 did on a regular basis. I am not having any heat issues at all surprisingly.
I'd exchange it! I've used mine constantly even while being charged up by the turbocharger and I've never had it get uncomfortable to hold due to heat. That's browsing & playing games like order & chaos 2
I got a Note 4 from my father who was using it since a year. He had occasionally complained of the phone heating quickly but was never that of a great problem. He never cared to replace/fix the issue.
So now I have it. This phone heats toooooooooo much with simple usage! Just a few minutes of Chrome browsing is enough to not being able to use the phone for calls. It's actually the display that heats too much, the back side doesn't go that much (battery isn't the culprit By the way, since it doesn't heat at all).
This is what I got after playing Mini Militia for an hour continuously. I had a few friends play with me on their phone and none of their phone was even close to the neatness this phone generated. The battery went down from 100 to 0 in 2 hours of gameplay. Even though I stopped playing at 10-12%, that remaining charge went off in 5-10 (lesser I believe) minutes while I was checking the gallery.
Whatever ROM I try it's the same case. But sometimes the phone won't heat, that is 1-2 in 10 times.
I think it's obvious that I have a defective phone. Now that it is out of warranty, would it make sense to go and repair the phone? What will have to be changed in order to fix this?
I would flash the stock Samsung rom back onto your device and see if that helps with the heating issue. I have heard that the Snapdragon 805 does heat quite a bit very quickly when doing anything, but not to the point where the device becomes uncomfortable to hold.
No, this is not normal. My note 4 with a snapdragon 805 rarely or never heats up during normal usage (web browsing across multiple apps). Cpu temps are usually below 60c.
I'm also using the s-view case which is slightly thicker than the stock backcover.
Some phones are great to take camping because if you play Asphalt 8 long enough, the back warms up to the ideal temperature that can bake bread. Rate this thread to express the extent to which the Moto Z2 Force stays cool under extended heavy use. A higher rating indicates that even when playing strenuous games for long periods of time, the phone doesn't get uncomfortably warm.

this device overheats while being used for vr, and when being used with amlost any moto mod i have the camera, projector, and jbl speaker and all of them cause the phone to get hot. anyone wanna test? just use a mod for 20 min and then remove it and touch the back its very warm near the pinout. the cpu is in the lower half of the device.
no heat issue unless playing heavy duty game or play 2 hr more video
My last phone was a moto G4 plus which overheated like hell, I play a lot of pokemon go, and the device gets a bit warm, but nothing too much to worry about, also in intensive games gets fairly toasty but really, nothing like other phones. Also consider what it says here about our phone overvolted compared to other phones with the same chip. I actually won't make modifications to the stock rom of this phone until some development gets stronger, but it's possible to get better battery life and most importantly better thermals tweaking some stuff.
i just made a moto mod that cools my phone and recharges it at the same time. PUBG doesn't even get my device hotter than 35c after 2+hours(added the current data from all my testing)

I'll second that, mine gets hot wheels the game pad or turbo mod are connected.
It's possible for the phone to get hot under high loads or when charging, especially with the TurboPower mod, but it's nothing crazy.
Over all, for a titanium back, great thermals.
On benchmark it goes hot as hell. Never do a benchmark again. Was 3D Mark.
01/2019 Real user review Haven't felt any lag even on heavy usage. All apps load pretty fast. RAM management is great! Scrolling is pretty smooth, no complains. On long calls or on updates while charging it can heat up , but nothing considerable.
A8 will be hot? I actually used this phone to play a9, unbelievable.?
Hello friends, I'm from Brazil and I'm translating this message through google. I have a z2 force about 2 years ago, I recently bought a mod 360 camera, The problem is that when I go to make videos the phone heats up more, to the point of starting to catch. The videos from about 12-15 min in duration starts to crash! Does anyone have this problem too?

I often play games such as COD and PUBG at full graphics settings the phone supports, not heating to a point concerning me.
Pubg
Been playing Pubg and the phone does get a little warm - but nothing concerning at all.
Plays nicely too!
Ian
I play 1-2 matches of Auto Chess a day, the phone never gets hot and you can play fine at max settings.
In comparison my previous phone Huawei P9 Lite, always gets hot and starts to lag significantly from Round 20.
I also play pubG and COD and after 5' phones' upper front and back are getting very very hot. It is also getting hot even when just charging...

I charge phone to 100% and play three games at auto brightness , PUBG, Miami Vice, and Empire and Puzzles..
I got 12 hours of playing and still left on 20% battery, I play without pause!!
The temperature was about 37 38 degrees..
I have also make a thread about this on Mi Community..
This phone is so good that..I can describe it..
Heating.. no.
This is just make up from peoples who dont know how to properly use phone or measure temperature..

Not a heavy gamer, but haven't noticed any significant heat issues.
