Vote me best ROM for pubg - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi there please tell me your best experience with ROMs for pubg.
I tried many but phone every time heats like iron and battery drains like hell.
Well !! Battery is another issue.
I don't care about any other camera speaker or blutooth or volte bug, just a performance ROM and good kernel.
I m recently on bootleggers latest one.

The thing is.. there will be heating, no denying it. There is no rom in this universe for z2 plus that wont give you heat while playing pubg.
I am using pixys 2.4 with nameless 4.4(reflashed) at stock clock speeds no mods no Gpu turbo boost. My pubg settings are balanced, shadows on , low- medium rendering( using BAGT for gfx) and battery drain is about < 20% in one full match in Erangel/Miramar and slightly less drain in Sanhok. Rest everything is smooth, but internet sucks a little bit in my place( mobile internet) so maybe some extra savings can be achieved in a fast wifi. That is it.
If anybody can suggest some better options please do
Edit: I've switched to latest F1XY kernel and it has a better performance than Nameless as far as i believe( For pubg especially )

Bootleggers pie rom latest build is probably the best in terms of less heating and sustainable performance and battery.. played 2 hrs of pubg mobile at hd with temperature under 45° with 40% battery drop only

Currently on oxygen os nougat by dhananjay v5 provide runner up performance for pubg at 900p but slightly heats up while playing at such high graphic but if you are in a cold environment heating is not an issue battry life is medium but pubg is best at 900p ultra balanced graphic ,pixys 17/11 build is best for pubg but phone heats up like hell and some time switch off during game due to over heating latest is good but frame drop and lags are there when players are around u can slightly increase the performance using moxie and charging during gaming is also an issue

Try Zui 4.0.233 ST. No heating issue while playing pubg and performance is great .

I had the same question in mind and I would created a similar thread if I knew where to.
Anyway used arrow extensively and tested all kernels on them. Moxie is best with 3.18 but in 4.4 pixys and latest nameless kernel. I have found nameless to be the best kernel. This combo has the least heat. I play on balanced but he works too. I haven't tried bootleggers. Can anyone who has used bootleggers as well as pixys recommended which is better amongst the two?

No.. not at all.. only Octopus users get that. Octopus is a keymapper software. One can utilise the volume buttons to fire with that software.

@RaZoR747
Thanks for the comment.
I am on AEX 6.0 + Nameless R22 (EAS/4.4). Like yours, nothing extra, not even ROOT.
PubG stats are terrifying compare to yours.
More than 50% per hour with stable WiFi or Jio 4G. Though game runs smoothly but does show a lot of thermal throttling at last zone or so. Device does heat up after 20/25 mins.
One needs to allow a few mins of cooling brake after every chicken dinner.
But as you may see, SoT is a bummer. 2 hours flat with non stop matches !!
I shall give your setup a try. Can you please drop a few lines on camera performance with your ROM. Specially video / high fps shots / GCam etc.
Thanks.

Yesterday i flash H2OS Port by Dhananjay but pubg is lagging .

try miui 10 but don't forget to change kernel(or reflash the stock kernel moxie if pubg lags)

Camera performance is really great. The last one i used was Gcam 6.1 from the forum website. Photobooth wasnt working. Apart from that, night sight was okayish. Hevc videos were a charm and shutter speed , hdr+ enhanced processsing times were acceptable.
Now coming to pubg.. i was using pixys latest + f1xy latest. And i saw i could complete matches, frames dropped while i was acquiring chicken dinner. So i decided to try the most stable 8.1 rom to check whether i can get better results.
Currently im in latest LOS(agustin)+ moxie 6.1 with spectrum, and im shocked to see that i wasnt able to complete full matches becoz phone would shut down due to heat. I lowered my graphics a little but its the 60fps that is bugging me. Without 60fps game isnt fun ,i know u understand. So i underclocked the cpu to 1785/1225mhz(big/LITTLE), still to my dismay i am not satisfied. Phone will shut down before i can finish but frame drops are inconsistent(only positive)
To conclude, i believe i was getting much better stability with my pixys+f1xy compared to agustin+moxie. Ill switch to stock kernel in agustin and check again. Becoz i see there are cpu profiles inbuilt in the battery section of LOS
Hope i helped
Battery drain is not an issue as much as heating to shut phone down is. Battery consumption is not extreme, pretty manageable 20-30% drop in a full match in erangel

ZUI 4 is great u can try it

Try ZUI 4 (4.0.233) Deodexed. The best thing happened to my phone till now. Smooth UI. Looks good. PUBG not even stutters for me (At max graphics, Anti-aliasing on). I have a stable WiFi btw.
There are a few Chinese apps. Magisk is intalled so you can debloat like I did. Gcam does not work. I use Footej cam.

I have made the switch to Pixys OS 2.4
Feels better in most aspect over my previous setup of AEX 6 + Nameless.
I am with default Kernel and PubG is returning similar battery backup as like yours but I am playing under medium settings.
Thanks.

I'm using Perseus battery life is awesome, people who complain about there battery life is draining is just bs, because i'm getting my usual 8 hours on screen time a day.
I've not tried others, but why should I? Everything is working well.
Tried both and both are good. NEAK doesn't have exfat support, so keep that in mind. On the plus side, you can use UNEAK app which makes it extremely easy to modify the kernal.
As long you're not a Benchmark fanatic i would stay with Stock Kernel. Can't find big differences in Speed or Battery Life between all the available Kernels compared to Stock. I don't care much about Benchmarks cause as long the UI feels smooth and Apps open fast enough, all is good.

Sentinel196 works hard on his rom and kernel, so why do you change kernel and what kernel did you change to?
What settings do you use?
What app do you use?
Do you play games?
Are you a casual user?

I´m new to this rom so i´m going to try it completely untouched for at least a week before changing anything.
So that i get a good feel for the performance and battery.

Guys can someone confirm if they can get most wanted to work properly without crashing and also real racing 3
?
Kept crashing on me
Rush85 v4 and v5 worked on other games like nova3 etc.
Sentinel kernel that came with rom gave me artificacts and crashes on games
If these issues are fixed then I would definitely want to come back to sentinel rom

Used Stock Sentinel Kernel for a while (with Performance governor, i really don't care bout battery ) & felt phone smooth.
Changed to Siyah v4 by Rush ( Curiosity, u see ) & overclocked to 1.4Ghz with Conservative coz for some reason, conservative gave more smoothness than performance .. & phone never felt more smooth :fingers-crossed:
& oh yeah, post 3-4 charging cycles, m gettin 4.5+ hours of screen time with WiFi on most of the time. So m gonna stick to siyah & sentinel for a looong loong time

The latest build of SlimBean (5.5-WEEKLY) is very good. With her, I reached more or less 3800 points in Quadrant Standard.
With the Sentinel, I reached around 3100-3300 points.
With Sentinel + Slim Kernel I reached around 3400-3500 points, even that little thing, already demonstrates some improvement.:good:
@thiagox
Ah, you are talking about benchmark.
Whats that got to do with stability and smoothness?
Stability is no fc, no reboots, no hangs.
Smoothness is an overall performance with no lagg/stuttering.

Pubg mobile on S7 edge exynos 935f

Hello everyone. I have started playing pubg mobile on my s7 edge exynos version and the performance is soo bad. I get like 20fps and the game lags so badly even with around 100ms ping. Someone told me to root my phone and use gltools to optimize the game by setting fake gpu as adreno 630 would fix the frame lag issue. I did so but still there's no significant changes. I know my device might be pretty old for a game like this but i feel bad when i see a less config phone performs better than this. This is my only priority right now to play pubg smoothly. Is there any way i can make the performance better?
Thing that i have tried so far: game tools, performance mode, changing up the resolutions, editing UserCustom.ini with loads of codes provided in various youtubers, turned on 4x MSAA but nothing could give the smooth 60fps gameplay.*
As i am noob about all the kernel thing and overclocking gpu or cpu, will anyone be kind enough to give me a proper solution for better gaming experience? Thanks.
Nah. It should play fine. I'm thinking you should look into connection latency as well. Even a high end gaming rig PC would stutter on PUBG at 20FPS if internet connrction latency is bad. Latency has nothing to do with internet speed. Even if your speed is high, but the connection between your phone and the server goes through a lot of hoops like VPNs, ISP rerouting, etc, latency will be wacky.
There's also the issue of battery age. The phone is about 2yrs old. The battery may have aged and is full of dendrites so it's not giving max power anymore. So even if you set it ti max performance, the battery may not be giving enough power to play it fully.

Would changing the battery help? And i am from Bangladesh, and whichever connection i use, it never goes below 100ms.
100ms latency for a shooting game is pretty bad IMO. Could spell life and death.
Changing the battery will help only if the battery is part of the problem. Right now I don't know for sure.

Use pubg gfx tool from play store
Man, i play pubg in high quality with no lag.
First, install tgp rom with tgp kernel in these advanced settings:
Big: interactive. 2184ghz max/728ghz min.
Little: interactive. 1586ghz max/422ghz min.
Fiops/fiops/bic.
Then install PUBG ANTI LAG and set: graphics balanced - style classic - resolution 1280x720 - fps 60 - shadows disabled - antialising disabled. And set the config.

I had the same problem with my samsung g9350 but I finally fixed it.
Game tuner , Put HW Performance to +3, +4 would drain too much of your battery, this would make sure that your phone is getting enough GPU, frame rate limit to 60 fps, resolution is 75% while im using HD Resolution on game mode just for the Game tools, I haven't tried increasing the resolution yet, im fine with HD for battery purposes.
I have Govtuner set on battery mode, L Speed on Battery Mode, This is just to counter the heating issues caused by HW Performance.
GL tools so I can use MSA 16x, force 16bit rendering, Optimize GLSL Shaders and of course FPS counter.
Firefds Kit from Xposed just so I could disable Touchwiz DVFS. <== This right here is the cause of our problems.
When I play solo or duo, i get 60 fps, since you faked your GPU, you can use Extreme Settings in pubgmobile which limits the cap to 60.
And I just adjust accordingly, like when I play team, sometimes my fps wouldn't reach 60, I lower it to Ultra(40 fps max) or high(30 fps max).
on 80 battery, i get like 4, 20-30 mins games, the device doesn't heat up and is smooth. Hope it helps, I was just like you once, doing everything just to have fun playing Pubg mobile.
Hello. All I can say is that the gpu exynos is not good for the game I have the Qualcomm version and without any change or third application I easily get the 28 fps with the default settings.
Hello bro
I use a tgbkernel and i get awesome performance in samsung galaxy s7 edge exynos, i m playing pubg seance season 6 and i m happie for my phone ?dost use useless apps in phone thank You
Hi bro if you still using the device, how much FPS you get after the new update. Do you use GFXTool?

Please help PUBG lag's very much

Hello i have a redmi note 7 3/32 model. When i play pubg even on low settings i.e smooth/high it lags very much.Phone heats very much.Tried disabling battery saver for pubg with no restriction but still lags very much.It had sd660 thats the reason bought it but it is really very disappointing.i had tried every combination of graphics settings but its the same.Phone heats after 15 min and then lag starts.
Should i install a custom rom? If yes then which rom will be best for pubg?
Or
Should i downgrade to miui 10 version ?
Please help..
Thanks in advance.

Can handle high fps, yes.
Can still create much heat and use much battery, also yes. Thus lower fps to keep it less warm. Try it yourself and see the difference.
Add all unnecessary apps/games in memory exceptions within game booster app. Also disable ingame shortcut and enable bandwidth priority.
In pubg I have fps set to high and graphic to smooth.
I find these settings work the best on my phone for game performance and less heat too.

How to do this btw?
Inside game speed booster settings.
And of course you need to add pubg to this app too.
I set pubg to restrict battery in MIUI setting FYI. It has no effect on game play.

I had done everything but still it lags when played even on smooth and low/medium settings.
Try running a few benchmarks to see if everything is right, like Antutu, 3dmark etc and compare the scores to others RN7.
If not, try resetting your phone.
yeah mine too , i can play pubg on my mi max 3 with no laggs in the same setting but with this redmi note 7 will laggs from time to times , it supposed to be better than sd636 in my mi max 3.

All the benchmark scores seems to be normal. Will reset today hope will get better performance
Thanks for reply
I have try antutu benchmark and the result is very far from ranking redmi note 7 list at there. My device at 51. How to raise up the performance?

Reset will do almost nothing. It does only in short term. Longterm it will lags again. Just like you reboot ur phone and cleaning cache, etc...
The main cause is, miui thermal and stock kernel restirct cpu frequency too 'agressively'. When our device start to heat, thermal will restrict -half of- our cpu to only use max freq for bigcluster 1,7Ghz & littlecluster 1,4Ghz and downclock soo oftenly. So, lags will occurs.
Reason behind is good actually to "save" the phone and decrease heat. But, when it comes for gaming (my opinion) Its NO USE at all. It Just ruins the gameplay.
Sad thing..., xiaomi like do nothin :'( its been a couple stable update and they are doing nothing to provide best gaming experience at least.

Yes you are right after reset again it starts to lag.
Can't we do anything for this mini thermal throttle?
I mean can we root and go for a custom rom Or anything like that to improve performance? I don't want any battery saver stuff.. Just want lag free gaming

Root method? Of course yes.
Flash recovery Orangefox R10 > Flash Magisk Root > Flash Thermal-Config Mod (its a magisk module) > Flash Custom Kernel (if you want, i recommend genom or evira). Done.
Now you will get best perfomance of our device should have.
*thermal-engine mod will disable cpu restriction
**custom kernel will increase battery and perfomance
You can go to custom rom too, it'll give you more :v
Head over development rom thread..

What if we disable MIUI optimization? Will it remove the restriction? Or the only choices are thermal mod?

Disabling MIUI optimization will not remove kernel restrictions, you're better off flashing another kernel or using a thermal mod as recommended before.

Coudn't find the thermal-mod link, maybe it has to do with editing the kernel.

PUBG LAG (Can't S8 run the game at 60fps?)

Being the flagship phone of 2017 and having a good chipset(Exynos 8895), why is my S8 not able to run PUBG at 50-60 fps?
Note-
1. I have 100 Mbps Internet connection and my ping generally fluctuates between 20 to 40.
2. Currently, I am using Alexis ROM (8.4v).
3. CPU freq set to max.
Suggest some tweaks or any mods I need to use to make it buttery smooth. Thanks in advance.
Pubg developers dont release the best graphic option to us. Using GFX tools, game runs a lot better with stable 60fps + smooth graphics...
Pixel experience rom gives me a stable 60 fps,try it too,my only problem is the multitouch lag on games both on stock and custom roms,is there a solution for this,???
I am using it...but still it lags like damn...
I'm also trying to run PUBG mobile on 60 FPS. So far, with the help of GFX Tool, I can run it but it lags like hell. Every two seconds it skips frames and jams and then runs fine for five to six seconds and freezes again. Not to mention, it lags more when I'm in close quarter combat which results in getting killed by the opponent. I'm wondering if any custom kernel let us play smoothly with 60 FPS.
