Is anyone else having issues with MMS not sending over wifi? On my S9+ whenever I'm on wifi and have wifi calling enabled, my calls, text and mms all send when on wifi even if I have no signal. The OP6T doesnt seem to be sending the mms. Any ideas?
I personally haven't had them not send, but when I was on wifi only (airplane mode with WiFi on), it took a minute to send.

Seems to be working okay for me, i also have wifi calling enabled and don't seems to be having any MMS issues,I have the stock messenger disabled and I am using the google messages app for messaging if that matters or not I don't know.maybe try going into apps and notifications and select see all apps then check under the three dots to show system and clear cache and storage under MmsService and see if that helps.
Sending WiFi through mms on T-Mobile is always iffy unless you're using an old S7 which has RCS support. Or you're sending to another T-Mobile user using the old RCS support.
It might work with your S9+ but it's not always consistent and in the background it will use the mobile data over WiFi, despite your WiFi calling settings.
It's not a phone issue, it's a carrier issue.
My solution was to get a cellspot from T-Mobile. They're free ($25 deposit that turns into bill credits after one month).
I just tried it sending messages to my wife's phone. I'm on T-Mobile USA.
Airplane mode on, wifi on, SMS sends fine. MMS sends fine.
Don't know what to tell you. International version of phone too (aka not the TMO variant).

Ironically, it's the opposite for me. I HAD this problem on my Notes, but I don't have any MMS problems on my 6t. I agree that it's just a TMobile issue.
Works for me on the 6t
Thanks for the posts guys I figured out that it's random for me, which lines up with it being TMobile like you all suggested.
What fixed it for me is turning on airplane mode and then just WiFi. This works 100% of the tests for me, vs just turning on WiFi and waiting to make sure WiFi calling had kicked in. Stock one plus messenger app btw

I have been having problems for quite a while with receiving MMS messages and sending them as well. I am on a monthly pay as you go plan with no data and i am out of the tmobile network, (roaming still in US) but with my previous phone (sidekick 4g), I was able to send and receive MMS messages if i had wifi calling on. Now that trick doesn't seem to work but once every good while. All I get is the download option then my bars will get that "x" over them to signify no coverage and wifi calling will turn off and after a while start again and no progress will be made in the download process. I have tried having both national and international roaming on and neither seem to make a difference. I havent made any tries to change the apn settings. Could anyone help me solve my dilemma? Thanks any help will be greatly appreciated.

Even though you're on a pay-as-you-go plan, you'll still need data enabled to send/receive mms messages. Otherwise you'll receive the message but never be able to download the attachment. My phone is on a plan without data, but I still have to enable data in order to send and receive MMS messages. I also need a good amount of signal (it has to be practically full signal) for it to go through. As far as my experience goes, you can't send or receive MMS messages while Wi-Fi Calling is enabled. Your signal bars show no signal because your phone is switching between Wi-Fi Calling and mobile radio. As for APN setting, I'm not sure which ones do and don't work. Whenever I have issues with MMS, I look up the values and re-set them.
TL;DR Just enable data and give it a try.

I have T-Mobile as well. If you watch closely when receiving an MMS, you will see that although WiFi calling is enabled, the mobile data indicator will show up and transfer the data.
As far as APN settings are concerned, it has no effect on WiFi calling. If you can receive MMS when connected to mobile data then your APN settings are correct.

The thing is that I do have my data enabled and i do see the indicator showing the data transfer but its usually a "G" and the arrows neither go up or down, but its really strange yesterday I was able to test it out and I was able to recieve an MMS but I tried sending one right after and nothing happened. I will probably recieve the failed to send message later on today. I was just hoping there was a fix to this. And as far as I have seen with experimenting with it, WiFi calling must be enabled for me to send or recieve MMS if not I get the message of could not send or could not download right away
I've been reading different things everywhere about this and I still can't find a solution. I also had this issue on my S3 with a custom ROM on there.
I just got the Nexus 4 and I flashed PA3.96 on it, great rom. Everything works fine. I just am unable to send or receive MMS with wifi on. Once I turn it off, it's fine.
I've tried both stock and GoSMS and neither can download or send out MMS.
Can someone direct me to the solution for this? I'm on T-Mobile and the APN settings are correct, checked it with a stock S3 and they're the same.

Just to be clear, are you trying to send MMS over wifi or you just cant send them while wifi is enabled?
edit: didn't see you already mentioned the carrier.
T-Mobile and Verizon usually don't send MMS via the Wi-Fi Network, you must be on 3G (in my experience)

I'm just trying to send a MMS anyway, my previous phone(s) on tmo, with wifi enabled, would be able to send the mms regardless. But I would see the wifi signal still on, and then also the 3G symbol come up because it can't send it over wifi, but it would know when to switch to 3G/4G.
If that makes sense.

I believe I understand. When you are on wifi, even with 3/4G coverage your Texts do not send? Mine work just fine on Tmobile. What app are you using to try and send your text message? Or is it only ones that have an image in them?
Not quite, so I keep my wifi on as much as I can (connected to networks) and I also never turn my data off (3G/4G). With my S3, stock, I can have my wifi on (connected) and my 3G/4G on, and be able to send/receive MMS like normal.
With my Nexus, with my wifi and data on, I'm unable to do either. I have to turn off my wifi to be able to send/receive MMS. Texting is fine either way.

Check your APN settings. They should be:
Name: T-mobile US
APN: epc.tmobile.com
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN type: default,supl,admin,mms,hipri
APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol: IPv4/IPv6
Everything else should say: "Not Set", or "None"
Save those settings and then reboot your phone to test
I'm pretty sure mine is set exactly like that, other than the APN type, there are a few I don't have on mine. I'll test and let you know.
Seems to be working now, adding those to the APN type made it work. Now just an issue with GoSMS, but that's a different story.
That's interesting..the only thing I added was admin and hipri under APN type, and it seems to be working now.
So, this was working fine until today, I wanted to try out one of the hybrid LTE modems. MMS is still working, but I can't send/receive with wifi on again. Practically the same settings as the epc APN other than the different LTE strings.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I'm roaming in the Caribbean with the nexus 6p. I get data, but i can't send text messages. I do get text messages from people but whether i try to reply or send a new message, it always fails. Does anyone know what the issue is? E-mail works fine, as does Facebook messenger.
Also, how can i tell the quality of my connection or if its 2g/3g/4g when roaming. All i see is a network bar with a small r next to it, not the usual 3g/4g/LTE icons etc. Is there a particular setting for this?
Lastly, i have wifi calling enabled but i have no idea if its connected and working or not. Is there any way to tell when its activated and when its not so i don't incur roaming fees when calling home?
I bought the H910 unlocked ATT version. Everything works fine except the Messages app. It sometimes says it cannot backup and sync text messages, and everytime a group message or a message with pictures come over, it would ask me to download, but the download always fails after 5/5 attempts.
Anyone knows how to fix this?
I have the same issues. I noticed it usually happens to me on wifi. Once i turn that off, it usually works then. Also im using the tmobile branded V20

I manually deleted the APN in the phone, and added the tmobile APN. Now I can receive group/multimedia messages, but I cannot send one... This is very annoying...

Yes I am on Wifi. Do I need to disable Wifi to send multimedia text messages? that would be strange...

Cellular data always active - does this mean I will be using LTE data all the time even though I am on wifi? that would be so wasteful.... I have only 2G per month.
I just got the OP6T and switched from TMO to Fi, and was wondering if anyone has been able to get wifi calling working. I found an option in the dialer (*#800#) to enable wifi calling in the settings, but even after turning it on, it seems to have no effect. The strange part to me is I can send and receive SMS messages with airplane mode on while connected to wifi with the Android Messages app. I'm not sure if that's just an RCS thing or if wifi calling is partly working. I'm aware the 6T isn't an "officially supported" Fi phone and Fi says "wifi calling might work, but figured this should still work since it's on tmobile's network
I too would like to know this. Im currently with AT&T and have been considering Fi
