Love the onePlus gestures, but to go back, we use to go to the bottom of the left screen and swipe up. It's tough to reach when using one hand. Any good app to enable just that gesture ?
I tried Edge gestures 1.5.5 app, but it doesn't go back.

You can swipe up from the right side of the screen too, it's written in the gesture description and actually works

Description on google play:
Usage:
There are two main gestures: 'Quick swipe' and 'Swipe & Hold' which can trigged from the bottom or side edges of the screen. The side triggers are only available on the bottom half of the screen, allowing you to still access other app side menus.
Actions:
• Back
• Home
etc
Did not use the app for a while though?

T Swipe Gestures by Tomiati Dev. You cannot use this and OP6T "full gestures" opiton (the one at the bottom), you can use the other two only...
After you install make sure you choose "BACK" as the action for right and left side and turn off all the sounds and vibrations.. I also disabled the top and bottom actions.
Then go into advanced and make the right and left bars 0% transparant. Now you can swipe to go back. Much needed for this tall phone.
You can try GMD gesture control. I have been using it for the last 5 years. Great app.

after GMD running one or some days, 6T touch control list or type input is damm slag,
then you can only reboot the phone to make the phone touch smooth again,

Ever since my switch over to Android a few years back from my iPhone 3G, I've always been waiting for such a feature in Android that will give me the ability to tap the notification bar and instantly scroll back to the top in any app that requires scrolling. I've never once asked for this feature once until now. I've Googled it and it seems to be a rare topic. Do Android users know if this such feature? Because it seems like an easy concept and assuming wouldn't be difficult to incorporate a mod into Android... or would it?

Used to like that feature on the iphone a year back. But don't you think that it is also possible to just flung one time and the whole page goes up? In iOS the flings are not continuous. To me at least. I would love to have this though.

Yes, that is what I have to do now. But when I'm reading a long article, flinging up on the page 20 times gets old.
I think Apple would sue Google if that feature was intriduced to Android
I think the new Samsung Galaxy S 3 has an gesture with scrolls in any list to the top. You just tap the top of the phone twice.
It's weird that just few people care of this feature, which is very cool, I miss it so much

you better try to experience this feature, then decide it's natural or un-natural.
in general, 1 side: users have to swipe many many times to come to the top of the page; another side: just a tap then done(just like the home key on PC) - smooth and easy. Think and compare

same here i had the nexus then got so used to it so I added them to the Note 2. But unfortunately I tried the same method by editing the build.prop on the note 2 to get the soft buttons to work on the note 3 but it crashes the system ui. Hopefully someone know a way.
If you are rooted, you can add LMT / Pie Control but not sure on disabling the hard buttons.
If you are not rooted, I was thinking there was an app similar to Pie in the market but I did not find it with a quick search.
same here.
And change the build prop because it will give you a bunch of force closures.
Closes I came to a navigation was floating soft keys in the market.
why would you? you lose screen space and they are already built in so you lose more then you gain
I would recommend to use Ultimate Navbar for softkeys
And Xposed Additions to disable/remap hardware keys
I use LMT an have the activation point just above the home button. I've been using it since the day I rooted and like it a lot.

You don't lose any screen area with pie control. There is nothing on the screen for buttons until you touch the area you've set as the activation area in the settings. The activation area is not visible at all.
Wow, I can't imagine taking up a tenth of my screen over nav bar. That's just me, it's just weird when the keys are right under. Its just awkward imo. I love the nav bar on nexus devices, or any devices that don't have soft keys and a physical home button.

I just installed the Hyperdrive ROM and it has support for softkeys that do not cover up the bottom of most apps. Does anyone know of any other ROMs that have successfully implemented this?
I am looking to add a button\widget to the homescreen that will shut the screen off. After looking for some apps I found some that will accomplish this but force a pin upon turning the screen on even if I used the fingerprint scanner. Is there such an app?

I use two fingers swipe down instead of double tap. You can set any gesture you want.
Roms have double tap top screen to sleep.
Everyone he already given all info needed. This is one of many reasons why I love roms. I always have a custom tile for screen off and a softkey just for screen off that way I can access it either way and not hit a button. Nexus devices have always had crappy buttons and I don't wanna mess em up by hitting them 20,000 times so thats how I get around it. Lots of great 100% stable custom roms to choose from. Pure Nexus, Chroma, RR, AICP, Aokp, the list goes on.. Nexus is the best device for roms. Cheers.

LMT Launcher supports this. Bind one of the items to key code 29 to do a screen off.

The Best one I've ever seen is run resurrection remix with whatever kernel, elemental is good or Franco. Then simply add an extra nav bar button. So instead I having three at the bottom I have 4. You have the back, home, and recents +power button on the far right of nav bar. A single process turn off long press and you'll get the power menu with screenshot power off and reboot and reboot to recovery that's all you want.

If you can wait 7 seconds, you can use a Tasker shortcut to set the screen time out to 7 seconds, and then restore it after it goes off.

I don't think it's the same as iPhone X gesture. But as seen in the video, it's kinda trash. Why use gesture to show the recent apps only? Still have to press home to go to homescreen. Still have to press back to go back. Still have the damn big black navigation bar. It just removes the recent button for nothing at all.
I looked into leaks and it seems to me that this is an alternative type of navigation, which you can enable in Settings. We will have to wait and see how it will be implemented. Hoping that it won't be default and the only type of navigation...

This isn't gesture. OnePlus Beta has had full gesture like iPhone X for many months now that works like iPhone. Basically, most of it is the 3 essential movements. Swipe up from bottom on the left side, go back. Swipe up the middle from bottom, Home. Swipe right side from bottom, menu.
I really like that feature before I switched to VZW and had to get a new phone the Pixel 2 XL.
Another good feature with OnePlus implementation, all of your apps use the full screen in this mode. No bars/space at the bottom, you actually have a fully usable display now and the apps fit it properly.
Some of the mods in a few custom Roms that allow navbar height adjustment, do that for some apps, but the bar is still there. Even a few of the swipe nav features don't make the apps fit the full screen.
That is how a true swipe function should work, your screen is fully usable to the bottom. Apps like Waze fit better adding that little bit to the screen real estate. And I got used to the swiping very quickly, had a hard time going back to the regular bottons on the screen.
Not everything Apple does/implement is garbage. This is one that makes sense, gives you more screen real estate, and is easy to adapt your behavior to. I'm tired of the big fat top/bottom space of the Pixel. OnePlus 5T and the new 6 are really a good example of how a phone should be made, slim near zero bezels, more screen space, and simple gesture features.
We can now sign up to beta lads one question though.. I've opted in... Will i get the beta thru ota on dp1? Or do i need to roll back to 8.1 ?
You will need to roll back.
So did they realize they killed two recent app button features they just added one or two android versions ago....being double tap to switch apps quickly or long press to enter multiwindow?

Quick question: I'm stock, rooted, with TWRP installed on DP1. I just got refreshed and got the DP2 ready to download. If I take the update, it would just unroot my phone and remove the custom recovery right? Or would I have to do unroot/etc manually before updating in order to prevent issues?

Those features were not killed, just moved. To switch back to the most recent app just slide the pill quickly to the right from any screen - that's even easier than double tap. For multiwindow / split screen you swipe up briefly to get to the recent apps then each app has an icon in the center top that you can click to go into split screen or get app info.
Hi.
I have been using the full screen gestures on android 9 as well.
But in the new android 10 update, theres a new button under the full screen gesture settings "more options".

You must be using a third party launcher. if you are you can get it to work thru adb. This will force the full screen gestures - adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural

You can run the adb command to hide navigation bar or use OneUI Option, but i find that if i hide navigation bar i get an offset of screen at the bottom some buttons and options dissapear from view. If i use OneUI Option sometimes the dock area of the screen is unresponsive in some apps. I have them both disabled.
I've had to dump Nova, was skitty anyway after the update, and wanted the side gestures

You must be using a third party launcher. if you are you can get it to work thru adb. This will force the full screen gestures - adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural

Is there a guide that'll help me do this?
That is incredibly ridiculous that we cannot use native Android 10 gestures in a Galaxy device if we're using mega popular launchers like NOVA.

I'm using nova launcher, fluid navigation gestures for the sides and i disabled fluids bottom gestures and the native gestures seem to be working.
I combine standard Samsung gestures with the samsung one-handed operation plus app.
What is interesting is that even on 10 and the stock launcher you do not get the full android 10 gestures anyway, the swipe the bottom task switching for example is not there which is a shame.
Turn on one hand operation. That's how I got it to work again for me. And I get to keep nova
