We have bike computers which connect to an app on our phone. The app is called Wahoo Elemnt.
I'm having an issue with my wife's bike computer and OP 6t.
She got a new phone, the Oneplus 6T, and after 30 minutes, the phone disconnects from the bike computer, so she can't see incoming calls/messages. The moment she wakes up the phone, it connects instantaneously.
Have checked all the settings, and made sure that there is no 'battery optimisation' set for the Elemnt app. Have even disabled the advanced settings.
On my Note 8, and her previous Oneplus 3, the app would remain connected even thru a 5 hour ride, and the phones don't need to be 'woken up'.
Any other suggestions?
Will this work?

Yes it's a known issue with doze being too aggressive. Most of the issues are solved when you turn off advanced optimization and sleep standby, if the issue persists please take logs and submit as feedback, thanks.

I did turn off advanced optimization and sleep stand by..I even made these apps don't optimize in battery settings, still the issue prevails... I didn't have these issues on my Pixel 2 XL or Note8 and I didn't even have to turn off any settings on those phones to get notifications.. I have to execute "adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable" every time I restart my 6T for the notifications and widgets to work for some apps...

Have u tried pinning those apps in the recents. I shall be getting the purple one in a couple of days then I can test further.
Yeah, I think that should solve this issue. I had exact the same problem with another app and locking the app in recents solved it.

I don't see an option to pin the app to 'recents'.

Doze can be aggressive but there is an option to exclude Doze per app under - Apps/Special Access/Battery Optimisation.
Unfortunately Oneplus has disable this option on our devices and have replace it with a one switch called Advanced optimisation.
I am trying to find a way to get this Pie Stock feature back. Any clues?

The problem for me is that the TMobile version doesn't allow you to turn off advanced optimization and sleep standby, those settings don't even exist, unless they are in a completely different spot than the unlocked version. And I haven't found it

I haven't been able to get mine to work period. I have disabled and enabled the feature multiple time and I just can't get it to work.....
Use it all the time. Might be an issue with a specific version of the phone or if you have modified it somehow.

I have the T-Mobile version and it worked in the beginning, but now I can't get it to work
A shame since I was just getting used to it and how to gesture it on and off.
This seems to be a Samsung issue rather than a carrier fault.
(mine is unlocked and in use on AT&T)
Would it be advisable to contact Samsung directly?
Go to Settings>Device>Accessibility, and check under "Services". Having apps turned on there can break the one-handed function.
I have NiLS for lockscreen notifications, but it seems to run fine even when the service permission is turned off.

Bingo! Thank You barnabydog!
The good news: It worked! I turned off the offending app and I'm back in business!
The bad news: The offending app was Pebble (smartwatch)
A feature that is more useful to me than the one handed mode . . .
So then is this the sad state of affairs? I have to choose between my Mini-screen mode and my smart watch?
How did you know about this barnabydog?
is there another thread that discusses this issue?
Yes, but I was too lazy to search for it.

I have a number of apps that I give access to Notifications. (Settings > Security > Notification Access). Apps like Google Wear are pretty useless without Notification Access.
For some odd reason all of these apps will lose their check mark and no longer have access to notifications. Makes my Moto 360 a dead weight on my arm. It's not hard to turn notification back on, I just have to go into settings and check mark it. It's that I have no idea that it's turned off until I start missing important notifications on my watch. It's a real pain.
There seems to be no reason for them to become unchecked, they just do. A reboot doesn't cause this. Seems to happen about once a day.
How can I make sure that all of these apps (7 of them) keep their access to notifications?

Same problem here
Hello, I have the same problem here with Galaxy Note 3 in Lollipop. Everything keeps getting unchecked in Notification Access. I have an Android Wear watch so it's even more annoying, since I stop receiving notifications on my watch.
Any solution to this that does not involve rooting? I did a hard reset (2, actually) but the problem persists. I have a long trip soon and would like my phone to be as stable as possible since I will be depending on it for guides, GPS, etc.
Thanks!
A very simple way to solve this problem is by giving priority to the notification that does not receive notification
1 go to setting
2 go to application
3 touch the name of that app to open its setting
4 go to notification
5 turn on the priority
That is all

There is one method to solve it though it is not permanent as you have to do it every reboot. But the fix is to disable Android's own Doze.
Enable developer options and USB debugging. Then type this adb command:
adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable
That will fix your push notifications until next reboot where you have to do it again. This way we can still use Huawei's own "Doze" function.

By now you may have heard about Axon 7 killing music playing app issue, if you haven't experienced it yourself already. For me I'm having a similar or at least related issue. The phone would kill my game when I turn off and on screen. After some investigation, below is my observation
1. Doesn't happen all the time. After a fresh reboot, no killing for a while... but after some time using the phone, it starts to happen
2. Not app-specific: After playing a game heavily for a while, the killing starts... only for that specific game. If I play a different game, then only that new game gets killed.
This have driven me kinda crazy. A look at adb logs reveals this:
12-22 12:45:34.229 I/ActivityManager( 1752): Killing 23881:jp.co.happyelements.toto/u0a122 (adj 0): excessive high power cost :jp.co.happyelements.toto
What the actual f***??? Why would ZTE kill my "excessive high power cost" process *after* I turn on the screen (and not when I turn off screen, which was 5 seconds earlier)??? Has nobody in ZTE thought about that apps that has "high power cost" may not be actually "excessive" but totally within reasons and fall into the category of normal every day use?
And no amount of changing the native "power saving" options stopped this behavior. Back in the days I remember there was some root/xposed module that would whitelist apps from being killed by the OS but I couldn't remember the name. So now I have to ask help on how to deal with this idiocy.
Edit: My apologies... I just noticed I posted in the wrong section... mods please move the thread to Q&A section if possible. Thanks a lot.
is there seriously no solution?

Yep, have the same problem after trying the same things. Several apps (2 of which I use for monitoring blood sugar levels) will randomly stop updating until either re-launched or the phone is rebooted. I have disabled all power manager options to no avail. Whatever power management system ZTE has implemented, it's FAR too aggressive.
Disclaimer - I haven't pulled logcats, but your description of the problem matches mine exactly. Here's hoping for a fix in Nougat and/or a custom ROM, otherwise I'm moving to a different phone. The A7 has great hardware but the stock software is a bloated mess.
B27 does not have this issue (which is why I downgraded to it). Might be a solution for you until the next upgrade releases.

@whoiswes If you are talking about the xdrip app. I too want this app to work with this phone. I tried CM13 and had the app work for hours then at night it stopped working. I only tried it for one night so didn't try different settings. At least this is a positive sign once CM13 becomes more stable or CM14 is released. I heard the app won't work with B27 either.
Found a solution, though it needs root
Code:
pm disable com.zte.powersavemode
then reboot
This totally disables the power saving menu though

I made this xposed module specifically to fix the problem described in OP. If you have the exact problem, including the logcat message, then the module should fix it.
If you dont have the exact problem, including the logcat mesage, then go ****post in another thread.
My solution is to whitelist all apps in:
settings -> energy management -> app energy management -> option button (upper right) -> app protection list -> option button -> set all to off
But the problem is that this setting resets everytime you install/delete an app
Edit: Ok i just tried out manually setting all apps to "off", now it doesn't reset the apps when installing an app but the new app ist automatically allowed to be cleaned. So you still have to disallow cleaning for each installed app manually.
Just an FYI, I updated to the Cyanogenmod/Lineage 13 Beta by UDev and one of my problem apps has been running for 18 hours without a single hiccup. Trying the second problem app later today. Not a solution for this problem but from my perspective it definitely pinpoints Power Manager as the culprit.
@borijess - yeah, Nightwatch and xDrip are the 2 apps that I've had trouble with, and so far Nightwatch is working great on CM13 (1228 build).
Hi all
I use my share location sometimes on way home from work, but it doesn't work, as soon as I open the app again it starts to work again?
Seems the app has to be open and running and on to be working.
Not an issue on previous phones, is there a way to allow it to remain running? Seems silly to need to have it on?
Try to not optimize the battery usage on WhatsApp. That may solve the issue. I have experienced delay in notifications with WhatsApp, so I removed that optimization. Normally this solves the 90% of the issues with location, notifications or background processes
