Hi, I have an asus TF300TL an I have a hdmi to rca cable to connect to my tv.
At my Tablet don't activate the hdmi out so i need to activate it manually. There are a way to do it on android?
Thx
Hello all,
I'm currently attempting to have my Nexus 7 be both connected to the internet via a USB to ethernet lead while also being charged.
I'm able to do each of these individually but when I attempt to use a random USB hub i have to hand I am unable to get both to work, the charging works but the ethernet does not.
When I connect straight through (OTG Cable to USB to ethernet converter) it works fine, however, when going through the USB Hub (with the power for charging disconnected) comms is achieved (ethernet switch is flashing) but I can't connect to the internet. This leads me to believe there is something specific I require for the USB hub.
Do I require the USB hub to be something special to enable this/ is this scenario even possible for me to achieve?
Cheers for the help.
I have a slimport cable and it works great for connecting to my tv and watching stuff, but, I've just bought a new car which has a half decent screen in it (well, slightly better than the phone) and I know other android phone users have had video playing on that screen. to do it they need the phone to do all the processing (car screen to be just a dumb screen) and they use the car's usb input. So, I'm wondering ...is there any kind of slimport to usb instead of hdmi cable, or is there a male hdmi to male usb adapter that I could use to connect my slimport to the car usb slot? ideally something that's cheap as I won't know if it will work until i plug it in.
thanks for any ideas.
There are two ways to do it with Samsung Galaxy S4/S5, which are the Wired method and the Wireless Method.
First, Wired Method. For this you will need to get a Samsung MHL to HDMI Adapter.
•Before plugging in any cables you need to adjust some Settings.
•Settings > My Device Tab > Accessory > Audio Output > Put a check mark next to Surround
•Connect one end of your HDMI cable to the tv and the other end of the cable goes into the mhl adapter. The MHL adapter has a female HDMI recepticle in one end of it.
•Connect the power cable (for the MHL adapter) into the wall and then put the other end of the power cable into the MHL adapter. The MHL adapter itself needs to be powered in order to work.
•Set the TV to the proper Input and you will now see what is displayed on the phone on the TV.
Second, Wireless Method. For this you will need to get a Samsung Allshare Cast Dongle.
•Connect the Dongle to the TV and select that Input.
•When the light on the Dongle blinks Red press the Reset button until it turns Blue.
•On the Phone go to Settings > Connections Tab > Screen Mirroring and turn that on.
•After a few moments the Dongle will appear on the list of devices.
•Tap the device on the list and it will start mirroring the phone on the TV.
Nice little guide. instead of an allshare cast dongle you can also use a chromecast to mirror your screen, i believe they are a lot cheaper, and allso usefull with non samsung devices.

Hmmm. I never really thought of doing this but now you've got me interested. Thanks.
What about through Wifi direct using a smart tv?

It works somehow with my philips tv. There is 1-2s lag and I need to reboot my phone before connecting. And it will still fail to connect sometimes.
My s4 screen working works perfect with my SONY BRAVIA.
But it gets disconnected frequently, once in every 1-2 hours. Any solutions?
There's another way now, for a list of phones. See https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6059461?hl=en If your phone is on that list (click or press "Supported devices"), you can 'cast your phone to any TV with an HDMI jack with Chromecast. Just install the Chromecast app.
ezcast dongle is the best
nice, thank you for sharing.
gotta try this out, thanks!
In short, I have an unrooted sprint s6e+. I plugged my usb dac in today and while I got great audio out of it, it wouldnt charge while connected to the audio device (usb otg cable with a charger connected, verified the charger works) is there anything I can enable without root to charge on the host cable? If not, has anyone tried wireless charging while in host mode? And does it work?
Doesn't seem like anyone else was wondering, but no... Cannot wireless charge in host mode either...
