Well... i turned my T mobile variant into a Stock Oneplus 6T - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Yes, I dove off the deep end and flash 9.0.4 on my TMobile 6t and every thing seems to be working. I decided to take a gamble while it was still under warranty, I now have boost mode something the TMobile version didn't have.

You used the stock OOS in dev? Did they send you the 9.0.5 update?

So the modem flashed fine and works then, I'm gonna do this later today when I get my bin file. Today is day 7 for me, going to keep an eye on your thread to see how the OTA update goes.

I'll try to explain the best way I can on how I did it.
I downloaded the 9.0.4 full zip file
Extracted the 9.0.4 zip
Put my TMobile oneplus in fastboot
Clicked on flash all
*After it finished flashing, the phone booted up but quickly powered down on it's own and it kept doing it.
Inside the 9.0.4 extracted zip you'll see another zip file called "Other_flashall.zip" I then extracted that zip. Put my phone back into fastboot and clicked "flash-all-partitions-fastboot.bat" I let it do it's thing and the phone booted and was ready to go with no signs of any TMobile in the phone

I should have my token tomorrow. I'll wait till we can confirm this with another TMobile 6t. Only reason I say this is because this is the only phone I have. Just want to make sure it's not a one and done and no one else can do it. This makes me really excited though. ???

Poll - Is root working for you? (T-Mobile Variant ONLY)

I want to take a poll, and this will be for T-Mobile variants ONLY. Being that the thread has people from all different carriers posting results, i think it's rather confusing to anyone reading along trying to decide whether or not to give it a shot.
So, have you successfully rooted/TWRP'd your TMOBILE variant LGv20?

You did not do a backup in twrp before flashing your file? You may have to exchange your phone you should always make a backup especially with things this new
Unlocked and rooted with no problems. I flashed a systemless hosts file for ad away in twrp and everything was fine. For assistant, I manually edited the build.prop file and restarted, which worked great. I almost feel guilty as to how easy this whole process has been.

I assume the build prop edit changes the device name. Therefore lg up won't recognize it. You will need a custom .dl file with the name edited. At least that is what used to happen back in the day when I was working with these phones. There used to be a program that made it possible to edit the .dl file.

I signed up but no email back or anything since.
I'm actually based in the UK. I constantly check for updates but nothing yet.
I signed up yesterday, but i don't receive email from lenovo.
Well I got the update 3 days back. I am glad to say battery back up is a lot better. Also reduced the heating issue.
Does it voilate warranty ? Fedback of update , specially cons , as its a daily driver.
Thanks.
The review of update is also available. Check the link below for more details.
http://thinkflag.blogspot.in/2017/04/lenovo-z2-plus-official-nougat-update.html
I can say, the heating problem is reduced, battery back up is much better. As for the new features I guess screen video recording and split screen are the 2 features which is noticeable easily. I didn't find anything special other than this.
Also one bug I found is how it shows duplicate notifications for emails and chats from whatsapp allo etc.
For each message it shows 2 notifications which really clutters up the notification area.

I am not facing this calls issue. Another good thing about the update is the upgrade for the camera software. Notification bar is a complete mess. I asked them why don't they stick with the Android 7.0 default notification tray. Go ahead and ask them yourself or call them and let them know.
May be they will listen to us once they have had enough complaints before they release the final version.

You have to replace the updater-script of the ota zip file with the one provided in that zukfans thread
and then try to flash via stock recovery
Just copy the "update.zip" to the root directory ( the path which is the first when u open ur sd card).......

I've tried rooting SM-G935U multiple times. The ENG boot image flashes fine in Odin but once it boots into the OS it reboots every 45-60 seconds. I never get to flash the root.bat
I'm thinking something has definitely changed. Others aren't reporting quite the same struggle I'm experiencing (at least not to the extent I have.) I just got this phone 2 weeks back. It came with Nougat.
Though I don't get any errors in Odin. Are you using the modified version?

I hear ya. Long process only to have it not work.
But when I asked about the firmware I meant the one you successfully rooted last. The one you posted was the same one I tried. And like I said, eng boot flashed fine but the subsequent reboot loop made it impossible to run the root.bat
My only theories are either something was changed by samsung and/or the devices that previously had M installed ARE able to be rooted.
One thing Im certain of is the new firmware does not like that engineering boot img.
But Im still holding out hope for root...

Hey man i was wondering if you still want to root. here's what worked for me. https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...eres-how-rooted-nougat-s7-edge-g935t-t3567502 . This method works for the sm-g935u. Also xposed works as well
The only thing i could find that was wrong was that my device was a bit laggy after rooting it but i gave it some time and it's lag-free now. I'm glad i did this. The downside is there's no custom recovery but maybe we'll get one soon. Good luck

Correct, it will not flash, just tried it.
I flashed it on via SD update this morning, to early to tell on the battery, but the fingerprint is amazing. So much faster and has not missed once for me. (did not need to re-register). No night mode on the camera though so thats a bummer.
What's this update bring?
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
It's only 184MB. Probably just a security patch and minor bug/performance fixes.
Unfortunately the screen shot didn't save but have been experiencing some weird screen problems. Kinda hard to explain but it's like the screen black out but the apps and everything else turn like a neo color super weird wished the pics saved.
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
I'm going from ASD3 to ASD7 and after the SD update my phone rebooted and is stuck on the Starting Android screen. I'm not sure how long it should take but it has been going for more than 20 mins now... What should I do?
I flashed from ASD3 as well, a couple days ago. Had no issues and haven't had any weird screen problems either. Peanut, try another manual reboot. If it doesn't start after that, maybe try wiping your cache? Worst case, you might have to factory reset.
While we are on the subject of ASD7, is there a way I can flash the update.zip file an not lose my data ?
Flashing it doesn't wipe anything, but you can always backup before as a precaution. I've never had any issues flashing updates like this. Not sure if it helps, but I always wipe cache, before flashing the update.

While that's true for *most* carriers, ATT phones wipe when side loading updates. If your phone has an att logo at boot up, any update.zip file flashed via recovery or adb WILL wipe the device.
Didn't know that about ATT. I was with Nextel/Sprint for almost 20yrs and recently switched to Xfinity, but good to know.
You can Never get AT&T firmware from SamFirm. Always have to Odin TMB or Sprint and use Home CSC. If you know of place to Download ATT firmware let me know Please.

Yes I know that did not apply to installing the Update from Firmware.science. I was speaking of Complete ATT firmware to download and Flash in Odin, as I said in message above.

One UI4 Beta 1, 2 & 3- US - OTA update link (N986U1 only)

Folks - Please do read carefully
One UI 4 Beta is live for Note 20 Ultra in US (Unlocked devices)
This Beta is for SM-N986U1 only
Open up the Samsung members app it will show if there is an update available. Update the app.
After update see the top banners as in my screenshot. Tap on that and sign up for Beta. In case you don't get the sign up banner, see below.
Beta 1 - I was able to capture One UI4 Beta 1 OTA link
Beta 2 - This enables esim on U1 (Unlocked) - One UI4 Beta 2 OTA link
Beta 3 - One UI4 Beta 3 OTA link
Google pay is not working on Beta 1, 2 and 3.
Pre-requisite - To flash Beta 1 you need to be on firmware N986U1UES2DUJ7
Beta 2 should only be flashed after you are on Beta 1
Beta 3 should be flashed only when you are on Beta 2
Just download by clicking the link rename it to update.zip and flash it either through recovery or by using ADB.
If you don't want to download using OTA link, rename etc our good friend @kangi26 has uploaded the beta versions along with the instructions to flash here in the post 3 of his thread along with many other firmwares.
Fair warning flashing through recovery or ADB may wipe your device.
To avoid Wipe (ATT users on U1 firmware) do the following: (Thanks @DevVorteX
Remove SIM
open phone app, dial *#272*IMEI#
Replace IMEI with your IMEI number which you can copy from settings
This brings up service menu
Select XAA
Click Install
Select "Sales&Network Code Change"
Hit the "OK" button
Your phone will restart
When it came back up, I checked in software info and it was XAA/XAA/ATT,XAA (whatever that means)
Reboot to recovery
Sideload the beta via adb
Let it do it's thing and reboot (keep sim out the whole time)
When it boots up, you're good to go
Put the SIM back in, and it'll prompt you to reboot
That's it. No more wipes.
Beta registrations are closed for now as it's full.
That's not available to me yet. And the link doesn't appear to go anywhere for me
I was able to download the .bin file, Will try to get a flash (or will wait until I get the beta sign up option)

That's correct you should be able to rename it update.zip and flash. Try cleaning members app cache and data And restart the app.

For those having trouble downloading it, just copy and paste the link into ADM

Grazie, I might give the update.zip a shot.
I did the clear cache/and did the Data too, no joy
Well, pulled the trigger. Lets see if I break anything
I'll report back when it's done updating (Still no joy on the Samsung Members)
So it took about 5-10 min to update, and it DOES wipe. But looks good so far, setting up now. I suspect that without signing up for the Beta, it MAY not get updates. It's been a LONG time since I've run a beta and it's hard to remember

I'll take a look when if finishes updating everything.
Also as a side note, it appears that there is a BP app available in the Samsung app store for Sammy Watches "My BP Lab"

Is there any chance this'll wipe my device. I'm on the unlocked (U1) firmware, but on an ATT device on an ATT sim. I know there used to be something dumb where ATT somehow forced wipes for sideloaded updates. Since I flashed U1 via oden I shouldn't have to worry about that right?
What firmware are you in? is it DUJ7?

OH doesn't look like a Sammy app. Looks like a third party app.

If you use the Update.zip method, it will 100% wipe, I can't speak to updating via the Samsung Members

No wipe via Samsung members app.
So it seems update.zip method wipes. (did you do ADB or recovery)
I was in older firmware upgraded to DUJ7 and its flashing. so far so good.

It's been so long since I've beta tested, I can't remember. Does it come with the Samsung Members Beta apk? What happens when you log in to it?
