Hi.
I recently got an update on my note 4 and I tried to install it. The whole thing screwed up and didn't work. So I went and tried to update it with Odin instead. That also didn't work. The phone no longer boots.
For 3 days straight I have been trying to fix my phone. When I try to update with Odin, It tells me that there is no PIT Partition. When I add the 32GB PIT partition file it says "re-partition operation failed"
I've tried updating with the 4 files as well, So AP, BL,CP and CSC. Still no luck
Just download latest firmware for your phone and perform install over current system. Don't check repartition option.

Hi,
I have tried that but then it says "No pit partition"
Did you downloaded whole firmware? You can get it from here: https://samsung-firmware.org

I did yes. But from a different place due to the slow downloads. I have tried multiple different firmwares and no luck
Then insert appropriate pit file and do flashing.

That's what I did but it says "re-partition operation failed"
Restart computer and try flashing via another USB port. Also pull out battery from phone for 10 seconds and then open download mode.

I have already tried that. Even used a brand new Samsung cable

It's the correct pit file. I have downloaded multiple for my phone in case it was a bad file. I get the same error

Once I deleted all my partitions with twrp. Then I downloaded and installed suitable firmware and pit file and all went good. Can you start recovery mode? You can reset phone from it.

Sometimes it lets me into recovery mode. I've wiped data/factory reset and wiped cache partition. Still no luck
Did you disable reactivation lock before flashing?

Hi, Tried to install root through odin for the first time but the install didn't complete.
Now my sgs won't boot anymore.
It gives, the firmware upgrade error.
I can boot into download mode.
When i try to flash the original firmware for the i9505 it gives an error (something about a pit file missing)...
What can i do to get my sgs4 working again?

seems partitions are corrupt so try getting the 16GB pit file and set it in odin with the repartition option enabled..... and try flashing the new firmware
Under normal circumstances, DO NOT tick "re-partition" during Odin flash of firmware.
Only tick "re-partition" if you have the PIT file as described in previous post
Ensure any firmware (double check !) is that for your specific model.

There's a .pit file in the DOWNLOADER folder at this link: moulnisky DOT com/index.php?dir=Samsung/Firmwares/GT-I9505/
I haven't tested it so don't know if it works, but there you go.
P.S. I had the same issue and restored my phone using Kies firmware recovery mode: samsung DOT com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQPopup.do?faq_id=FAQ00048586&fm_seq=52928
So I flashed 4.4.2 that had been released yesterday with Odin and I got "FAIL! (Size)" when it tries to flash hidden.img. I first thought my phone got bricked as it was only able to get on the download mode and couldn't get to recovery mode and when I tried to flash it again it did the same error. After reading about this problem fro the internet someone said to ignore that error message and go back to download mode after flashing the rom and flash a custom recovery. I did so, went to the recovery mode, wiped data and cache and I was able to boot normally. When my phone booted up I started to have an error message that bothers me the most; "Unfortunately, Samsung keyboard has stopped working". This happens every five seconds or so. Is there any fix for this, as I'd like having Samsung's keyboard working on my phone?
You can't just ignore Odin warnings.
Almost all Odin error can be resolved by the following.
- Different usb cable
- Different usb port
- Different pc
- Reinstalling drivers.

Most likely you are flashing different size partitions. Is it stock?
If so, please download pit file for your model, flash with pit file and repartition marked, do not reboot phone, go to recovery, wipe phone and reflash again, this time without pit file and without repartition marked. Shall do the job.
Final tip: NEVER ignore Odin errors messages.

Does it have to be 4.4.2 pit file as all I found was a pit file for 4.3? Does it harm my device in any way if I try to flash with that?

Are you sure you know what you're doing? When you phone is off hold Volume down+home+power to enter odin mode, can you do that?If you hold volume up+home+power you should enter recovery where you can wipe data/cache.
So, in summary, try entering recovery first and wiping data cache, if you can't then try entering Odin mode, connect your phone to the PC and then just flash a firmware for your note 4 which you can get from SamMobile.
I can't get into recovery it just goes back into the boot loop the main problem I have is odin it don't find the .tar file on my computer even though it's there on my desktop

hi,
first, flashing correct stock Rom should fix your issue.
second, if you launch Odin, then you must select. tar via pda(press and "navigate" /point to where the tar file is on pc. You have to waite a minute or two or three or may bit longer....as it has to check the tar md5.(.takes time, then it should load file into pda. )
if you cannot see it try using another pc/laptop. (Also pc/laptop must have Samsung Galaxy drivers installed etc,)
Thirdly, download another version /copy of Odin and try.
Bottom line, relax and think positve.
good luck
I have try we all that except a different computer mate it just don't show up for me think I will have to wait till tomorrow till get hold of a other computer
Hi guys,
I had a rooted galaxy s4 I9505, which I tried to encript before selling. After 10 hours the encripting did not finish so I rebooted it and ended up with a bootloop, that I tried to foolishly solve by going to the TWRP menu and formatting the device, the OS was lost and since then I am unable to bring it back to life. I am trying to flash a new rom with jOdin because it keeps saying that the PIT file that my phone shows is corrupt, I tried different versions of jOdin and two different computers. Kies and the like are uninstalled. I tried downloading PIT files online with no luck.
Do you guys have any suggestions? I am really lost after wasting 2 days on this.
Many thanks...
Try downloading the official firmware from sammobile. And flash using odin. That should work

Thanks Soyuz4u, but Odin keeps saying that has found a corrupted file (either the PIT file or another) and does not even start flashing.
Has anyone had this problem before?
Can't you flash a rom via TWRP? I managed to soft brick my device last night with Mobile Odin. It wiped my recovery and OS. I just flashed TWRP back with normal Odin and restored my rom backup.
Have you googled to see if there is a pit file for the memory configuration of your phone?

Try a different USB cable / port. That error is related to that a lot of the time.
Thanks for the replies guys. I couldn't flash a new ROM with TWRP because it kept saying that the .md5 file could not be found, no matter what I did. I downloaded some PIT files online but did not find something specific to my phone memory config.
I'll give it a go in a Windows platform with different USB ports to see if that helps.
Thanks again!

I don't think you have any clue what you are doing.
You say you have TWRP on your device. Then download a custom rom and flash it with TWRP.
- What do you mean with .md5 file cannot be found? You never ever use a .md5 file with TWRP. You only need to flash a .zip.
- Are you running Odin in a virtual machine? That will not work. Jodin is also outdated if i'm not mistaken.
SOLVED NOW! I installed the latest Odin on WIndows and flashed the Rom with no problem. I was unaware of Odin being outdated for Mac. Thanks all for your help again.
Does anyone have the Sprint Galaxy S7 PK1 firmware? I tried rooting mine and ended up bricking the phone... Any help is appreciated..

I flashed using ODIN 3 and with the AP, BL, HOME_CSC, and CP files. I got an error saying that the ext4 was invalid and flashed again using the PIT file and checking the first three options on the options tab. The latter method got a PASS from ODIN but the phone boots into recovery and fails to install the system update, and it goes into the recovery menu. Not really sure what to do from here...

Use ODIN 3.12, grab the PK1 or PJ2 you need from the link below. When selecting the CSC, do NOT select the one with Home. Good luck.
