I flashed using ODIN 3 and with the AP, BL, HOME_CSC, and CP files. I got an error saying that the ext4 was invalid and flashed again using the PIT file and checking the first three options on the options tab. The latter method got a PASS from ODIN but the phone boots into recovery and fails to install the system update, and it goes into the recovery menu. Not really sure what to do from here...

Use ODIN 3.12, grab the PK1 or PJ2 you need from the link below. When selecting the CSC, do NOT select the one with Home. Good luck.

Hi, Tried to install root through odin for the first time but the install didn't complete.
Now my sgs won't boot anymore.
It gives, the firmware upgrade error.
I can boot into download mode.
When i try to flash the original firmware for the i9505 it gives an error (something about a pit file missing)...
What can i do to get my sgs4 working again?

seems partitions are corrupt so try getting the 16GB pit file and set it in odin with the repartition option enabled..... and try flashing the new firmware
Under normal circumstances, DO NOT tick "re-partition" during Odin flash of firmware.
Only tick "re-partition" if you have the PIT file as described in previous post
Ensure any firmware (double check !) is that for your specific model.

There's a .pit file in the DOWNLOADER folder at this link: moulnisky DOT com/index.php?dir=Samsung/Firmwares/GT-I9505/
I haven't tested it so don't know if it works, but there you go.
P.S. I had the same issue and restored my phone using Kies firmware recovery mode: samsung DOT com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQPopup.do?faq_id=FAQ00048586&fm_seq=52928

Pit files are really "last resort" situation. What error are you getting?
What version of odin are you using?
What model of the note4 do you have?
What happened in the first place that got you here?
Have you tried to search for a fix?
What have you tried?
More info is needed mate.
Im also on the hunt for a PIT file. I had to use one on my 9505 a few times after a brutal softbrick/almost hardbrick to recover it.

Well I was trying to flash twrp trough the twrp app. But it failed. And when I wanted to reboot in recovery.. All my phone could do was boot in download mode. So I looked for the latest lollipop firmware from Samfirmware and got an error in odin. Something about the size is too big. 85098<125876 and odin said something about exfat hidden (I'm not really sure anymore). I got my phone back to work by flashing a random pit file I found on my pc. Definitely not a note 4 pit and it failed but for some reason it rebooted back to my 4.4.4 rom as it was before I bricked it. Strange. Cause odin was almost at the end of its flash so I assume some things were flashed...
Odin version 1.83 I guess but I tried it also with 3.04 and same error
I have nite 4 sm-N910F
Searched for a pit file but as I said it was fixed by a failed flash of 4.4.4 original firmware trough odin with a totally different pit file. For some reason it booted up again. So now my phone is back... If I put it manually in download mode... Will I have the same error? Cause yeah it's not bricked... See?

What that app did was wipe you're recovery... All you would of had to do was flash a twrp/cmw/PHILZ recovery.

Its not necessary to flash stock, simply reflashing the engboot will suffice, and does not wipe the device.
First of all you wanted to Flash SuperSu.... Did you enable Android Debugging.... Then check OEM Unlock?
If not you messed up there...
Next You need use Odin to flash CF-Root. You are now running a patched Kernel and SuperSU
Use TWRP app to install twrp for your device.
i have the same exact problem, been trying to flash stock firmware but cant get it to work. help please!!!! which firmware? can i get a link please!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, having same issue. Didn't realize you can only make backups with flashfire, not actually flash them back with the program too...
I have the original files I installed with Odin, are one of these the engineering boot file? (BL, AP, CP, CSC?)
Or are you talking about something else...? Thanks!

You flash the engboot file you used to root the device, the one you placed in AP and is around 20 mb in size (not the actual firmware) .

Yes, you can use this firmware to flash back to stock 2BQL1 via ODIN . If you have t-mobile, flash USERDATA, BL, AP, CSC or HOME CSC to retain your data, otherwise your data will be deleted. Be sure to back up your data before flashing. If your carrier is not t-mobile, flash BL,AP,CSC or HOME CSC and don't flash USERDATA. If you have further questions, let me know.

Yes, in ODIN you would flash BL, AP, CP, CSC & UMS (USERDATA). (Only for T-Mobile) For the second part, what I recommend doing is once you flash the stock firmware, go to recovery, wipe data & cache and reboot. Once it reboots, turn off the device, go to recovery and sideload CRA9 from SD card. Once the installation completes, do the same process in recovery wipe data & cache, reboot and you should be fine.

What is your original carrier? Go to settings, go to about phone, software information & then check service provider if your device is originally from t-mobile it would look like this TMB/TMB/TMB the last one is the stock Odin firmware you should be flashing.
Last 3 is original device carrier
TMB - T-Mobile
ATT - AT&T
SPR- Sprint
VZW Verizon

There's some Odin that allow and don't allow you to use UMS. I will provide you with a link of the Odin I use that supports UMS flashing.

Unfortunately not, everything seems to still be good but I did find a thread in the Galaxy S7 forum about the issue but the issue they have is more complex. The IMEI on their phone is all zeros and mine still shows numbers. I've tried factory reset thru recovery and clear cache but still have the same issue. I think maybe it has to do with different bootloader or something. Not sure. If you find a fix this let me know.

Question, why when I attempt to download the stock room file at the beginning of this thread it say it's trash by owner.
Hi.
I recently got an update on my note 4 and I tried to install it. The whole thing screwed up and didn't work. So I went and tried to update it with Odin instead. That also didn't work. The phone no longer boots.
For 3 days straight I have been trying to fix my phone. When I try to update with Odin, It tells me that there is no PIT Partition. When I add the 32GB PIT partition file it says "re-partition operation failed"
I've tried updating with the 4 files as well, So AP, BL,CP and CSC. Still no luck
Just download latest firmware for your phone and perform install over current system. Don't check repartition option.
