Yes, it's quite jittery/stuttering.
I just compared it to a Galaxy S i9000 and they're pretty close, but the i9000 might be a bit less jittery. Hard to tell.
I also compared to my Nexus One (I have a lot of phones, LOL) and it's just as jittery/stuttering. The software's been updated recently, so perhaps they broke it with the update. It's not unusable, but it's too sensitive to be a good experience...
I believe with the latest update there were settings that toggled how frequently the sensor data is polled. Try playing with that? I don't have the NS yet, though I have the N1

You are correct. Menu/settings/sensor_settings. Changed Sensor Speed to "slow" and Damping to "high" and get much less jittery. (Still not nearly as smooth an experience as the similar apps on my iPhones.)
Definitely jittery. Even after changing sensor settings. Was much smoother on my G1. I predict an update to Sky Map in our future...
I also feel the digital compass is way too jittery compared to my previous nexus one and G1. It shows clearly in any compass application and in the skymap.
I wonder if others are seeing the same exact issue and this is some sort of a software error or this is actually a hardware bug.
I have this problems with SkyMap: after I used SkyMap the screen does not rotate more (the accelerometer sensor not work), if I reboot everything returns to normal...this happens also to you?
Same to me

Yea the compass on the NS is similar to how my Vibrant's was... crap.
I am using I9300T varient (Telstra) with a build version DUALE6. I am surprised that this problem has got very little mention in all reviews. While using photo gallery, the photos will not auto rotate even though you have auto rotation mode on. We have to manually tap the rotation button to rotate photo. and then if the next photo is of different orientation, you again have to tap that button. Is this normal? Is it with all builds or just the telstra? can some one please confirm?
I find this is way to unnatural. I mean having auto rotation on, why you need another rotation button. It is samartphone user tendancy to rotate device to bring photo in its original orientation. This is against the Nature UX and made for human claim?
Is there any work around for this? Does the custom roms have same issue?
I know it can be taken care by using alternate app like quickpic, but I think this should not be taken for granted for the stock application. It is all about user experience.
We're all the same mate. I actually like this in a way, because some pics taken by say a DSLR that you put on the phone, sometimes rotate the wrong way.
IMO, at the very least you should be able to have the ability to have auto picture rotation, and have the option to press the manual rotate button. I think that would be a good middle ground in this instance.
On the other hand, maybe Samsung may have ommitted auto rotation to minimise Patent issues with Apple and their picture viewer patent, which was responsible for the delayed release of the SGSII and Galaxy Tabs in countries like USA.... Samsung did say the the SGSIII would be built clear of any of Apple's licenced patents to avoid any further disputes. :good:
Well, I didn't know that it is the case with only Australian devices. I asked samsung and they replied me in one liner... " This is how the device should work by default.".. Thanks sammy.
Last night, I flashed LF6 to overcome redraw lags and I realised that it is lot faster than our carrier branded rom and surprisignly unlike our ROM, photo gallery in LF6 works fine. No additional rotation button. It rotates normally and that is how it should work.
I don't know if that is a patent issue. If that is the case than why only on Aussie ROMs. I feel sorry for my mates who are far away from xda and rooting thing and they will have to bare this annoying thing until they got an update.
PS - this bug is so obvious that it has been noticed by 2 and half year old daughter who has been very comfortable with my old iphone, htc desire hd and galaxy s II. She told me that something is wrong with your phone. Now that explains that it is against nature UX.
I have this same issue with Optus Australia. Why do I have to click the rotation button? This is so dumb.
I have the same issue with an Optus branded phone as well
Rather than going through the trouble of installing a new rom. Just install quick pix. It does auto rotate the images
This is on all Australian S3's. My unbranded stock S3 has the same 'feature'. It is definitely to do with patent issues. It's the same thing on the ICS update for the S2.
I flashed Wanam then Checkrom. On both the auto rotate works.

Couldn't see any threads with this question..
When the GNex came out they showed off how fast the camera was.. That you could take lots of pictures with no delay.
Since I got the phone I have noticed that the N4 is really slow vs the gnex and any other high end smart phone.
It focuses after every shot which slows it down.
I have also noticed when you rotate the phone in the camera app it rotates everything which makes the screen.. I guess lag. It should only rotate the buttons.
Does any of this annoy you? And is there any fix?
I just realized this too. But it doesn't affect me since I never need to take that many pictures that fast.

It annoys me when I want to take a quick shot and it starts rotating and focusing. I wonder if any of the developers can fix it.
Hi.
Just bought s7 edge loving it.
Before i was using iphone 6s. I also used note 5 for week i didnt liked touch response was bit low latency and slow unlinke iphone.
I really like new series. Everything is good. I started noticing new thing. Touch response is also good on this phone but I saw new thing. When we hold finger on touchscreen also like when we rearrange icon by holding it.
I see touchscreen is wiggling like a old phone is getting charge and touchscreen is shaking like virus..
Have you ever noticed that?
Or screen is over sensitive?
I will also make video to describe.
Edit.

Doesn't do it here (using the Exynos variant)
I see what you mean but I have not noticed it on mine. I would if I had it because I'm sensitive to stuff like that. Though it IS a sensitive screen. Even after the update that fixed the severe oversensitivity. It's not a problem anymore though. Before the update it would register presses before you even touched the screen. Hovering the finger 0,5mm above the screen would trigger it.
I would say i have noticed what you are experiencing.
but not to a level it was noticeable./
To me it felt more like the phone was responsive to my touch more than previous devices.
And as this is incredibly quick, it was reflecting this on the animation
(While other devices that are slower would not show it)
I noticed this stopped when using the tip of my thumb instead of the flat.
But more productive, What version are you running?
There has been various updates that improve the stability.
I upgraded and rolled back due to loosing a feature.
(Whitelisting Caller ID) (Stops unwanted calls)
But noticed a improvement to the touch sensitivity being abit over sensative one may say

Thanks for replies.
Im running pd1 something like that written at last.
For me it's not big issue.
I hope you got what I tried to show.
I mean I only see wiggle when I hold finger after sec it get fine but for sec it wiggles. There is also a wiggle when I swipe left right instantly I'm not talking about it.
I'm talking about, when I try to zoom a picture. It wiggles when on stable finger for a sec. Software down the touch response after a sec then wiggle gets fine.

Yea it's not annoying but it feels cheap.
Actually cheap phones have this thing especially when we use it while charging.
I'm not saying s7 edge is bad phone. I still love it.
But I really seek fix for that.

This is a software "issue" and not a hardware issue, so this is something that can be fixed by an OTA. Could you install Nova Launcher and see if the wiggling is still there? I just want to check that it's not anything with the Samsung launcher.

bought a brand new indian set s7 edge. And i am also facing the same issue. What is to be done to fix it? I have tried the *#2663# stuff. It doesnt help at all.
Yeah my phone does that too!
It STILL ANNOYS me daily because I notice some imperfect scrolling! I am very sensible to smooth scrolling and I can notice some imperfections on this phone!
Besides it jumps up sometimes when scrolling down... and the opposite way around!
See my poll on g+: https://plus.google.com/+GeorgesGeagea/posts/Vp8Xc5nwTtt
Try *#2663# and Update the stuff there. It will help. What i think is that its an over sensitivity problem. Had it alot on Note 4. Not any on s7 edge. I have the Exynos version.
hi,
did someone notice the fingerprint too slow at reading or not reading well?
you can record 2 same fingerprint to let reading get a littllllle fast
Sent from my SM-A720F using Tapatalk
I've done that. Didn't notice difference. I work in a mobile phone store and I've seen some units and I tested in another a5 and is a lot faster...
Maybe is a placebo thing.
(Sorry my english)
I have the same problem here. Did that twice the same finger registering thing but nothing changes. I got an replacement from samsung but my second device (this one) has the same problem. Found no solution so far.
