I got a Nokia Lumia 520 from my neighbor last week, and I try to charge it with my Samsung charger... It doesn't turn on. Any suggestions/help/ideas? I wanted to put LineageOS 13 on this phone.
I used the same charger on 2 other phones that my neighbor gave me on the same day... Those are the Nokia Lumia 635. Thanks.

Was wondering whether anyone's come across this or even tried it on the HD2..
So, the Sim Unlock Attachment (I-SmartSim 2008 for £5.50 on ebay) slides under your SIM card and your handset can then read it.. cool thing is that the handset remains unlocked, so we all get to hold on to our waranty deals..
So, has anyone tried it?
thanks
Anyone? (bumping it up..)
I tried something like it back in the days when i had an (dont know if i eaven dare to say it here ) iphone and that worked well. so i dont see why it shouldnt work on hd2

not using the internet wouldnt be a big problem for me cause i just need to use my Greek sim card when in Greece, and that would be for calls and texts only..
what about the rebel simcard? they even have a youtube video showing it works on an HD2 (even with internet). However this seller (only one result if you search for it on ebay), has one negative feedback from one guy that said it didnt work with their HD2... don't know...
I stuck my Gevey 3G SIm adapter in my HD2 today and it now works on AT&T for voice/SMS. I can confirm the Data is not working. It worked fine when I used to use it on the iPhone 3G back in the days....

I know that you were asking about I-SmartSim 2008 but Rebel Simcard is the one I was talking about. I'm quite sure that they are all the same.Same thing different name. I've tried Rebel Card with my HD2 when I was abroad and it worked all right, except internet. Also my wife had one with Iphone and was ok.Now I unlocked my HD2 and I dont have that problem any more. So maybe for an extra few quid will be better for you to unlock.

These rebel sim cards have been in the market for quite some time.
They seem to work well but you will face hardware problems soon.
First signs would be battery draining. The battery life will drop drastically once you start using it.

mm, that's not good.. but i guess if i want to keep my warranty, shouldnt be too big of a problem coping with poor battery.. it's only for a few weeks every year when abroad...

Got mine yesterday and on whole I love it just can't get HTC Sync to recognise it as I think there is a option missing in USB connections or I just can't figure it out.

i was going to a shop today and came out with a wildfire for 0,13 EUR and my month plain is 80,39 EUR and with it i have 60 hours talk unlimeted sms/mms and unlimeted data with no limit
HTC just released the HTC Sync™for HTC Wildfire. I suppose this will allow you to sync with MS Outlook.
Got my wildfire on 3 a couple of days ago, and so far really impressed with the little beastie I love how everything just works on it, and doesnt need tweaking. With the exception of HTC's website. It doesnt accept my S/N to download the HTC sync for my wildfire and being able to sync with outlook/exchange is critical for me. Anyone else getting this issue?
I have mine for 7 month now
I got one for my son a couple of days ago and he has not put it down since
The reign of my HD2 is over.....I loved this phone....all the rom testing and such, are now memories/knowledge
Well......was my birthday weekend and maybe went a little overboard.
I lost my HD2
But already within the few months i've had it...I already cracked the screen, and thankfully I didn't send it in to get the screen repaired...because now i've lost it.
I think I am going to try and get an Incredible S (ohhhh, ahh) now....
This time, I will be getting screen protectors, cases, GPS tracking app....because I can't spend..er..waste this much money again for another phone!! lol :-(

You didn't have lookout installed on your Android ROM by any chance did you?
I tried remote install Plan B......but just my luck my battery was dead :-/
if you still have the box or you know the imei, better call your network provider / customer service. you can have the phone locked / blocked from ever being used. tke note that the network provider may not necessarily be the one to lock your phone. at least that's how it is here in melbourne. i had to call a different number / customer service to request for my imei to be blocked when i lost my touch pro 2. cheers

They don't block IMEI numbers in the US.
As sort of "bait".....I have left the phone on and I have been monitoring the usage. The phone has not been used at all.
My general thinking was I wanted someone to find the phone and turn it on, so Plan B could install and push me the location.
I honestly believe....if it has/had been found....because it was dead and cracked, the person probably threw it away thinking it had been run over by car or something and "doesn't work" by the appearance

ah, really? didn't know that, thanks mate. just out of curiousity and pardon my ignorance, why can't imei be blocked in the us? does it have to do with the carriers themselves? cheers
if you have give nthe comand to remote install plan b then ass soon as someone turns on your ophone(if by chance) you can get the location

Well...I just ordered an Inspire 4G.....Not exactly the Incredible S I wanted, I still want it....but probably not wise since a billion phones will be coming out, with dual core and all that
But I really don't care about the hype of the new phones that will be coming out soon.....my HD2 was good enough for me
The phone is STILL yet to be used.....so either thrown away or left in a car under seat or something. IDK IDK IDK
So I guess im off to learning a new phone..:-/..all the quirks, installation steps, roms, etc. for the Inspire
Doesn't matter, as long as it's something you want. Dual core isn't everyone's cup of tea anyways. Plus they're hell of expensive, enough to buy you a capable/good lappy. Have fun with your new phone. :3

Eset detects AV Trojan.Lotoor. Android/Exploit in srs-setup.exe
So it will perhaps unlock phone, but maybe it'll leave something else on the PC ...
Most of providers here provide free sim unlock support by phone, given the phone has been unsed for 6 or 12 months ...
YMMV

So I've been using my Nokia Lumina 710 for a month now (it uses a Micro sim).
The sim works fine in the Nokia Lumina. When I put it in the Nexus 4 nothing happens.
It does not read it, it says "NO SIM CARD - EMRGECNY CALLS ONLY"
What do I do?
I installed it correctly in the phone.
Note: The Sim I used in the windows phone I CUT MY SELF
Solution: I went to a store and bought an actual Micro Sim that is already cut, and that worked fine.
The issue was that if you cut your own micro sim, it wont line up the gold part with the Nexus 4 properly, and will not be read.

Whose SIM card are you using? Have you tried using a SIM from another carrier?
i bought my nexus 4 about a month ago. it wouldnt get a signal with any sim card. i brought it back to the authorized tmobile dealer where i bought it the next morning, and they exchanged it for me right away. i was told that there is a known issue with not being able to read the sim. anyways, the n4 i received as an exchange i liked better
moral of the story, if you buy your device at a store(not online), have them activate your sim there, and stick it into the device before you leave.
I went to a store and bought a brand new micro sim, I guess the Nexus 4 didn't like the way I cut the old one I used on the Lumina. Been working fine since.

Your original post never mentioned that the sim was originally NOT a micro sim and that you cut it down. That would have been helpful info.

I also got the same problem.
I think when you cut a mini-sim to Micro-SIM the metal part of the sim is little bit bigger than the original micro sim. This makes short circuit when you put it in the Sim tray of Nexus 4 (Which also metal). I just apply a sellotape to the sides of the sim and after that it worked for me.
Just give it a try
I had a problem with the Nexus refusing to connect to the mobile network. I fixed it by reflashing the modem firmware in CWM
