Advice on rooting S4?

Hi there, I currently own an S4 GT-i9505 locked on the EE network (United Kingdom).
I want to root the phone so I can move apps to SD and also install emulators and such. I've also read about flashing the official UK BTU rom..
So I have a few things I'm not too sure about.
Do I need to root the phone to flash the BTU rom? How will it affect my device? What's the easiest way to root for a locked device, as the way I've seen say that you need a factory unlocked device? Sorry for all these questions, I'm just getting confused haha...
And if I root the phone, will I still get OTA updates? I know that it'll probably remove root but can I install them without bricking my phone?
Please help  Thanks

S4 Root Updates

Hi all,
Sorry for newbie question but hoping if anyone can help
I have a rooted s4 (v 5.0.1) not on a custom rom as far as i know and noticed there have been some stock updates recently and was wondering on the best option to upgrade
Is it possible to just upgrade and keep my files & data without losing root? If not please can someone advise the best options? I need to keep data really and think titanium would be the best option if i have to flash back to stock?
Thanks in advance
You can always just reflash cf auto-root. It will take you excactly 2 seconds to flash it.

How to root G928F Galaxy S6 Edge+ LDU version?

I would apreciate a lot if someone could explain or give me a link for a way to safely root my G928F Galaxy S6 Edge+ LDU version, I want to clean the bloatware and see if I can go further and install a custom rom, but I can't find information on how to do it on a LDU version.
Here's the info of my current rom:
Android 5.1.1
G928FXXU1AOH4
I believe the problem is that LDU rom has some files removed from it, because LDU don't have radio (antenna) and if you install the full rom with odin the phone bricks.
Thanks a lot for your help and sorry if I'm in the wrong section, if so please tell me where I can ask this question.
Did you root the s6 edge + LDU ? I want to root mine.
I've rooted my s6 edge+ but lost soft keys
I've managed to root my s6 edge+ by following the tutorial below, but I've lost both soft keys (folder and back) so I'm looking for a way to solve this problem now. The phone works well except for those two keys.

Sorry for my english i'm not a native speaker.
G928F Galaxy S6 Edge+ LDU, ROOT and custom ROM
I've found the way to root and install a custom ROM to my G928F Galaxy S6 Edge+ LDU version, be sure your phone is G928F version, please don't blame me if it doesn't work on your phone.
-First follow this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-...-to-rooting-flashing-custom-recovery-t3200324
Be sure to do a backup after installing the custom recovery, (save the backup to your pc to free your phone's memory), you'll end up rooted but without soft keys, so then you need to do the next step.
-Then install this ROM with Recovery (choose the option: wipe / clean to install a new ROM):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/development/deodexed-aoh3-t3195044/page4
Choose the Debloated ROM.
I hope it works for you too, and again sorry for my english.
Please could someone help me I have a Galaxy S6 which is an LDU that I would like to root so that it stops wiping every hour or so. I am completey clueless and I really need to get it done but, I don't know where to begin. The model is G920X
Here's the info of my current rom:
Android 5.1.1
G920XXXU1COH3
If you need any more information just let me know please. Thank you sooo much

BACKUP your EFS folder as per the stickies .
Exactly, make a bacup of EFS folder- if you have root use for example this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.efs&hl=pl

You can't take a proper backup without root, you can't take a EFS backup without root, so whatever hesitation you are having about rooting, well you need to get rid of it.

Im downgrade so many time and no problem with my device N9005 Im alway using TWRP format all/ cache/dakvil/data/system and go to download mode and flash normal. Never missing IMEI and another problem. If have problem. Dont worry, you flash again with file PIT and tick to re-partition. this everything you need!
