I recently ordered the 8th gen HD 8 and I'm a little worried because I've read that they've disabled workarounds to install the Play Store on it. I'm not entirely sure if it's true since I don't actually have it in my hand yet, but does anyone else know? Any help would be appreciated.
You can install, but I heard it does not connect to Google at all (stuck at login) probably for everyone.
Thanks for the reply. I actually found a video that shows how to get it working. It's a couple weeks old, so maybe they'll push out an upload blocking it. As far as I know it all depends on the order the Play Store APKs are installed.

OK thanks
Sent from my Infinix HOT 4 Lite using BMstories
It works. But... I've had to create a 2nd account as my main Google account has Two Factor Authentication.
This is what seems to be causing an issue with login where you're just in a loop.

Can you re-install the Google APKs again and reboot your Fire tablet
It's very possible to install the Google Play store on my Fire HD 8 2018 without Fire registration

Some apps really are not comparable. You can download Play Store APK's to your computer with a little work and side load them to your tablet. Do so at your own risk http://www.androidpit.com/how-to-download-apk-file-from-google-play
Whatever app I try to download from the play store hangs up at download pending and never downloads. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

I had the same problem. Mine finally told me I wasn't logged in to my Google account. When I went to Google Settings > Sign in & Security it automatically logged in and play store worked after that.

Anyone having problems updating Kindle bookstore app or audible? My device is not listed on Google playstore. Not sure how to get it listed. I have a Samsung S8 which has updated the kindle app, but I can't do the same on my Kindle HD 8 and 10 after installing Google Playstore. I receive the error message 505 unable to install.

Are you trying to update the app that was installed via Amazon Appstore ? From my understanding you cannot update the apps from amazon which are already preinstalled on your Fire HD.
You first have to deinstall the one from Amazon (if possible and it is not installed as system app) and then install the one from Playstore again.

I had this problem while trying to use google play in the second account on my fire hd. After resetting the device completely and setting up the account as the first one it seems to work now.
Philoxenes, thanks for your reply. I received a couple of Amazon updates which helped, but it seems as though I have the latest app. The one on the Playstore is older at least it seems like it.
I thought about deleting the original app, but thought that I wouldn't be able to replace it since Playstore wasn't cooperating. So, I'm okay with keeping what I have. The updates from Amazon updated the app, although it doesn't have the same functionality as the one that is listed as the update on Playstore.
This could just be a coincidence but after getting my Fire HD set up with Google services and such about a week or two later, I started getting the "Account Action Required" notifications on my android devices. It was requiring me to sign back into my Google account. Has anyone else had this issue with installing Google Play on their Fire HD tablets? Is there a fix?
If it matters, I am using the Fire HD 10 (7th Gen) tablet.

No issues on my end. Which version of the fire os are you running? My 7th gen hd 10 is on 5.6.0.1. You may need to completely reinstall the Google Play components.

Did you change the password of your Google account recently? It may be the cause of this issue.

No. I have not changed my password. I contacted Google for support and they had me remove my account and add it back to my phone. This worked for a day or two. Now I got kicked out again and have this notification again. I just cant figure out if it is because I have Google Play on my tablet or if it is just a coincidence. I wish there was a way to know why I am getting prompted or something.
Okay so I figured it out. I was using an unofficial Google tool called Geemusic. It's to use Google Music on my Amazon echo devices. An update had happened in the app that requires you to set an Android ID. So since everytime the app restarted, it generated a new android id. So I had 92 android devices, Google freaked out basically and asks for you to reauthenticate. So there you have it.
I've purchased a brand new Fire HD 8 tablet that I'm going to wall-mount and use as a home automation controller/interface.
I was able to [Skip] the initial setup and install the Google Play Store (and Google Services, etc), but the tablet updated itself and is again prompting for Amazon registration. Is it possible to bypass this? Is there disadvantage to just registering it?
Anything else I should know before I use this as a wall mounted tablet?

No disadvantage to registering. Regardless, you'll get nagged to update on occasion which may break your use case. Better to unlock and install a custom ROM which will give you more control over your device.
Thanks very much for the information.
Any suggestions on a custom ROM given my purpose?
I have a HD8 2017 working as an interface to my Smarthings/Konnected/ActionTiles system.
Unlocked and installed TWRP using this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/orig-development/unlock-fire-hd-8-2017-douglas-t3962846
Using this ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/orig-development/rom-lineage-12-1-amazon-fire-hd8-2017-t3967537http://
Using Fully Kiosk browser. Everything works great. The tablet runs quicker than with FireOS and appears to be just as stable. Hopefully someone will get LOS14.1 working but LSO12.1 is good enough for my use.

You forgot to install NoRoot Firewalls app to block OTA from internet access.
Hi,
I'm hoping someone has figured this out as its driving me crazy !
I've followed the instructions to put the google apks on via the android police website, install play store amazon fire tablet article (can't link to it as it's my first post !)
Everything initially seems to be ok, signed into google and can access and download apps from the Play store.
When I download the Google Play Games app it runs ok but switching to the Profile tab doesn't show me any profile information and all I get is the busy icon spinning constantly.
Does anyone know how to solve this ? I think this has a knock-on effect of games not working that require a google games profile.
This is on a brand new 2019 Amazon Fire HD 10.
Thanks in advance

That's the problem, your Fire tablet have registered with Amazon account.
Reset your Fire tablet and bypass Amazon account registration. Do not register.
Install Google services and remove all Amazon junk:

Hi , thanks for replying.
How do you bypass Amazon account registering/logon ? I thought it forced you to have an account.
I've used the toolbox before but only after I have signed in. are you suggesting I can somehow get to the home screen without logging in or registering and then use toolbox ?
