Some apps really are not comparable. You can download Play Store APK's to your computer with a little work and side load them to your tablet. Do so at your own risk http://www.androidpit.com/how-to-download-apk-file-from-google-play

I searched for an answer to this but didn't find it.
I have a Kindle fire with over $100 of apps. Whta happens if I install CM7 or 9? Will I still own them and be able to download? Thanks
If you install the amazon app store in cm and login with the same account, then you will be able to redownload all of the apps you purchased. With no charge

To add to that, you can have the appstore on multiple devices with no additional charge. For example I have it on my phone and my kindle.
Can anyone help me, I'm trying to download some tablet apps from the Play store but as the Kindle wouldn't be listed its coming up as device not supported.
I have tried a cracked Play Store that apparantly removes the restriction but it does not work.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thanks Si

crankyy,
If I understand you correctly, you are seeing the message: "Your device isn't compatible
with this version...." when you attempt to install a program in Google Play Store, correct?
We have found this message to be erroneous in some cases. Can you let us know what
software you would like to install on the Kindle Fire HD or 2? We may have the apk's
in our data server. We will first test the apk's to make sure the program works as designed
on the Kindle, then we will post links to download the software.
I've read about amazon updates limiting what you can do on this tablet. If I bought a HD 10 now would I be able to use the following:
mx player
youtube
firefox
play store
Failing that, is there a reasonable/cheap 10 inch tablet which can do the above? My nexus 10's display is going yellow and the battery only lasts an hour or so!
If you install the Google Play Store without rooting the device and disabling the OTA updates you're going to have a struggle with keeping Google apps on the Fire. All apps that you've listed below will work on the Fire HD regardless of its root status. Just please root your device if you want to keep the apps installed by Google Play Store permanently.

By that you mean having the Play services/store/Chrome/whatever else installed as system apps, right? The only problem I have with certain Google apps on my Fire 7 2015, HD 8 2016, my mom's HD 8 2017 (all never rooted w/ OTA updates on) is that they may seem a little slow and glitchy at times. Almost every other app installed from the Play store not dependent on the Play services works just as well as it would anywhere else. And no, they don't randomly disappear.
If you're rooted then follow this guide that I wrote. You'll have no issues with the Google Play Store or any Google apps afterwards.
I recently ordered the 8th gen HD 8 and I'm a little worried because I've read that they've disabled workarounds to install the Play Store on it. I'm not entirely sure if it's true since I don't actually have it in my hand yet, but does anyone else know? Any help would be appreciated.
You can install, but I heard it does not connect to Google at all (stuck at login) probably for everyone.
Thanks for the reply. I actually found a video that shows how to get it working. It's a couple weeks old, so maybe they'll push out an upload blocking it. As far as I know it all depends on the order the Play Store APKs are installed.

It works. But... I've had to create a 2nd account as my main Google account has Two Factor Authentication.
This is what seems to be causing an issue with login where you're just in a loop.

Can you re-install the Google APKs again and reboot your Fire tablet
It's very possible to install the Google Play store on my Fire HD 8 2018 without Fire registration
So I've got root on my Kindle now, but I can't figure out how to get stock play store apps to replace kindle apps with. I would rather have the play store version of the Audible app for example, as I think the interface is better. But even though I've removed the folder from the system apps, there's still a greyed out icon and it won't let me install the play store app. Any help?

As of now I don't believe anyone's figured it out. The two versions just don't play nice with each other.
Thanks, that's what I figured.
