Latest Stock Camera Update Caused Permission error on Lock Screen - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

Greetings Everyone,
I updated my stock camera app for v6.2.14.17 because of that I cannot launch my camera app from the lock screen. The error says "Permissions required Camera needs permission to access components on your device. Tap APP INFO and select Permissions to re-enable." I enabled all the permissions and still came up with the error.
I discovered that app does work correctly if the camera is already launched, but I do not want the camera to always running in the background. The app does work correctly if I uninstall all the updates too.
My phone is running Magisk with the stock rom is a XT1644 model.
If any of you guys have an apk of the previous that will be great.

How to remove google camera (and go back to aosp camera)?

Hi,
The new google camera app lags terribly on the nexus 4. Does anyone know how I can return to the asop camera app? I tried installing the apk but it just crashed. Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks!
Are you rooted? If so, use Titanium Backup, ROM Toolbox, or similar app to covert it to a system app, and see if that solves your crashing problems.
I can't convert it to a system app if it doesn't let me install it. I am rooted and I placed the 4.4 camera apk in my system app folder and corrected the permissions, however, it still does not install.
Anyone have a solution?
Just restart the phone

[Q] Unable to uninstall Wakelock Detector

TL;DR Google Play has only the Open option and no way to uninstall app
After updating my I337M from rooted NI2 Kit Kat to rooted OC4 Lollipop, I was unable to properly run Wakelock Detector. It was stock to stock so I didn't wipe factory settings.
Googled a suggestion to move the APK to /system/priv-app so I did that but still the same result.
Now when I want to try uninstall (so as to re-install) there is no option. Under Manage Apps the app isn't even listed. The APK is still under priv-app and I deleted it... still shows up in app drawer.
D'Oh! What else can I do to uninstall it properly?
Sent from my SGH-I337M using XDA Free mobile app
i have the same problem
so ticked off. same here. even paid for the full version because sometimes that fixes issues like this. I can disable or freeze with titanium backup pro but can't uninstall. i think the problems happened after converting to system app. so now I have 2 frozen apps I want off my phone. On top of that the app stopped working after converting to system app. I get an error after the app loads. I emailed the developer and am waiting to hear back.
This days the application App2SD is able correct install Wakelock Detector as private , and it is able to uninstall it if it was installed as private .

Unable to grant storage and other permissions due to Screen Overlay

Hi All,
As usual it is the first place for me to look for help.
I updated my A5 2016 device with the latest security update. While installing, I was assured that i would be able to uninstall that update.
I couldn't.
But this is not the actual problem.
Now I am unable to grant permissions to apps like Camera, Storage etc because whenever I try to do that it says Screen Overlay Detected on which screen none of the apps are turned on including the system apps. I am really annoyed with this feature (or bug) of the Android Marshmallow. I seek your help in solving this.
I am rooted with custom Xposed ver 86.
Try unchecked all screen overlays, even system app ones? Also, there might be another screen overlay that might not hv been listed. Eg: if u hv pie with gravitybox enabled you have to disable it in the app itself.

Thank you so much for the valuable Help.
I recently found that some of my apps crashed suddenly and that the following error popped up: Unfortunately Phone has Stopped, Unfortunately ES File Explorer Has Stopped.
After I click OK it pops up again. So in a wonderfully foolish step I uninstalled the Phone App and now the phone will not reboot.
I uninstalled Xposed but nothing helped. Finally after lots of research on XDA and otherwise I flashed The Stock Firmware for my Phone SM-A510FD.
It rebooted just as fine but now the same problem is there and is not resolved. Moreover if i Open some app like Play Books while i am getting the error, the popup of the error stops until i open the Phone app again. I opened my phone in Safe MOde and saw that the same problem is also there which means it is not caused by some third party apps. PLease help.

I seem to have found the solution for the problem regarding crashing of the Phone App. The Phone App uses Screen Overlay in which we select SIM1 or SIM2. Turning that off would result in hampering its functionality. After i did turn on the screen overlay for Phone App, it is functioning just as fine and no crashes for atleast the phone app. I wonder to what lengths i went to solve this issue and the issue lied in my thing only.

Deleted stock camera app

Hi, I was trying to update my camera app from 6.5.53 to 7.X.XX, regular instal apk showed error "package conflict with an existing package by the same name" so I tried copy new camera apk to priv-app/samsungcamera6/samsungcamera6.apk but after phone reboot camera app disapeared from system, from setting, its gone ... any ideas how to instal it back? Or bypass that package conflict because there are more apps I wanted to update manualy.

Trouble with Google Camera app on Nexus 6P running Lineage 15.1

Hello,
I am having trouble with the Google Camera app on Nexus 6P running Lineage 15.1.
The google camera app was always very good when i was running stock. But with Lineage my HDR+ will just not work. what results in poor image quality in low light conditions.
I searched google for a solution to this and tried a few APK installers of google camera ports in the hope of fixing this.
But when i try to install the APK file it asks me if i want to 'update' the current Google camera version or cancel.
When i cancel, obviously nothing will happen so i hit update. But this fails too. With an error that just says 'App not installed'.
It's probably an easy thing to fix but i cannot seem to find the right help.
I'm pretty sure you need some gapps in order for camera to work. So that's something to check.
You are probably not able to install due to different signatures, which means you the apk you downloaded isn't signed by Google or Camera you have isn't signed by Google(which I doubt)
Try to uninstall it( if it's a system app, then just disable it) and install again(enable)
In case with pre-installed camera it will delete all the updates, so check if it works in that state. If it does - then it's the problem with a new version. Maybe you tried to update to version that isn't meant for Nexus series and is meant for Pixels only. So don't try to manually update it downloading apk. Let it update through play store.
Try this camera if nothing of it helped

If it doesn't work and your camera isn't installed as a system app, delete it, then try this camera https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...-camera-hdr-60fps-video-t3658552/post77437875
But be careful with settings, you can break it easily, in that case just clear data for this camera

Well, it's a gapps package that included the camera in it. I flashed it right after the linage rom. So yeah it shows as system app.

Solved my problem. Tnx! I just disabled the 'system' app version.
Install v5.1, GAPPS come with latest version that don't process HDR. Newer versions don't process HDR at all for some reason at least on 5X (probably to prevent us from using pixel goodies in gcam).
