I think it's the sim that is locked rather than phone, if you insert this sim in other phone it will ask for pin as well, if you are not sure what's the pin for the sim then your service provider can help you.

[Q] TIM Brasil signal on CM11

Hi,
I can not get signal on a TIM chip on 07/20 CM11.
I tried a lot of different baseband and my VIVO chip works correctly in that ROM.
Can anyone help me with this TIM chip?
I will use my phone as a modem, tethering internet to my notebook.
Thx all.
Today I have tried a new version of CM11, from 07/25/2014, and can not get my SIM card to work with my Defy+.
When in another phone, the SIM card works and I can get signal from TIM Brasil.
Can anyone help me? I need my card working until tomorow night.
Thx.
Today I tried all the basebands that I could to make my SIM card to work.
There is a way to check some log files or debug info in order to find some clue about the problem?
Thx.
Download defy baseband switcher 4.0 (blue icon), there's a Brazil TIM baseband
My problem was not an incorrect baseband.
My phone was locked by my carrier and i had to revert to stock ROM to unlock it.
After that, CM11 started to work with my new SIM card only when I did a factory restore of my phone and start CM11 from scratch. With my older data, CM11 yet was locking my new card.
Thanks.

from my previous testing sim unlock doesn't work (doesn't fully unlock sim - You get network but no mobile data) - use a stock based rom or cm7 and remove the sim lock before flashing cm11
If cm11 doesn't boot with the sim then change your baseband

Defy sim locked on CM11

I'm using CM11 by Quarx on my Defy after having used CM7.1, CM9, CM 10 .... I'm very happy about that Quarx's work but now I changed my phone and buyed a MOTO G !
My Defy was "Simlocked" when I buyed it in France (at Orange telephony provider) : but I get it desimlocked after few months with the code that Orange gave to me : I could use on over telephony provider SIM without problem (after that I put my Orange SIM till now and flashed my phone with all Quarx ROM's).
But last week when I tried to put an other provider SIM it said that it was simlocked and the code isn't working ....
Is it possible that flashing new rom can delete unsimlock ? I tried asking new code to my provider but they always send me the same ...
Thanks for helping me
Nobody had his Defy simlocked after using CM11 ?
Hi ! Since then I have not had that problem.
But why not try to flash a sbf to test ?

is your phone locked to the carrier? you need to unlock it maybe.
nop but the carrier is unlocked.
Usually the "invalid SIM card" error is a sign of a hardware problem, not software. Take it in to the nearest Samsung service center and have them look at it.
