from my previous testing sim unlock doesn't work (doesn't fully unlock sim - You get network but no mobile data) - use a stock based rom or cm7 and remove the sim lock before flashing cm11
If cm11 doesn't boot with the sim then change your baseband

Hello guys, thanks to Chainfire, who made the tool RegionLock Away, you can SIM unlock your Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini I9195 with it. I did it just now, my phone was locked on TIM form Italy and I'm now using it on BASE in Belgium, before it said it could not register on the network. First I rooted it with S4Mini RootKit v1.
hi
does the phone remain "unlocked" if you flash other stock rom? (i.e some debranded version)
or you need to stay rooted?
can confirm,
works fine.
to unlock you must be on a stock rom.
flashed than back my nandroid backup cm11 and stayed unlocked
thx to Chainfire :good:

maybe you don't think so, but when i inserted a t-mobile sim, then i should enter a code.
so took back my vodafone sim, ran the app and re-inserted the t-mobile sim.
AND
Voila it works...

I did it folowing your procedure and still the sam a message network lock?
1- You must have a stock and original rom (odexed and flashed with odin) not a custom rom !
2- Root you phone (see arco OP) and install "RegionLock Away" from chainfire, open it and follow instruction and reboot.
(Don't put any sim card at this step)
3- Now Shutdown your phone and put any sim card you want and reboot. That's all !
You can flash any custom rom after this procedure. You will always have your sim unlocked.

Sorry for my mistake but my rom is the original (stock) and is rooted and flashed with odin, do you think I have to run the region lock away
Without the sim inside the phone?
When I did it was with the stock rom already rooted with odin but with the sim inside?
thanks

yes, in the first step don't put your sim card. just install "RegionLock Away". Run it and reboot without sim card again.
shutdown and put what you want:silly:
it's easy

The S4 Mini has number I9195L, that's probably why it doesn't work (as the OP specifically says is for Model I9195).

Unlocking Samsung Galaxy Mini by code is very easy, it is also safest and non-invasive method of unlocking your phone. To get code for unlock Samsung Galaxy Mini You need to provide IMEI number of Your Samsung. Type on keyboard *#06# or remove battery from Your Samsung Galaxy Mini to check IMEI number. IMEI is written on the information label

Whom should I provide IMEI to get code for unlock?
Are you talking here about regional lock or SIM-lock?
This doesn't work with my I9195, tried every method that everyone's said so far in this thread and nothing. The phone is bound to an EE (UK) SIM and I'm trying to use an O2 (UK) SIM with it.

Hi guys, I'm facing a problem with CM14 SIM detection with this version of hardware.
If any developer can help, I'm happy to test any fix you can provide.
So, 'till now:
- Flash CW 14 from here: http://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/update-moto-x-pure-cm14-cyanogenmod-14-nougat-7-0-rom/
- I'm follow the steps of page and download the last build from here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=profile&uid=95897840722645866 (cm-14.1-20161127-UNOFFICIAL-clark.zip)
- Clean install with TWRP;
- Factory reset; -> No sim detected
- Flash marshmellow modem from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...odem-flashable-modem-files-eu-single-t3297051 -> No sim detected
so that it is... just say a word and I'll try my best.
Thanks all,

Dual sim issues

Hello Techies
On Christmas Day My Redmi 3S Prime gave up the ghost , the Mobile radio refuses to latch onto a 4G Network and can only reliably make a call when a GSM network is selected . This seems a pretty common bug , though I have scoured the solutions ( which seem to work for others ) ; swapping to multiple sims/providers , manually setting APM and Factory Reset , though the phone barely connects to 2G/ Edge Technology . This is a huge inconvenience as I use the phone for both business and personal life - not being able to use it is a royal pain in the ass .
I have contacted Xiaomi who recommend flashing to the official developer ROM Version: 7.12.21 (MIUI9) . I currently have latest MUI Global ROM (8.5) I have tried updating (downgrading ) to an earlier build (8.1) - using the 'upgrade' app on the phone , however this would not work , the device said it could not update to an earlier build . However I will try the developer ROM next , which I guess should work ?
The other option was the fastboot upgrade , which allegedly allows the phone to downgrade to a previous version ( I wanted a stable ROM , I dont really need Dev ROM ) . However the instructions are extremely vague and were written in a different environment (for earlier MUI builds and WIndows 7 ) . When following the official 'Fastboot' flash guide , it transpired that 'download mode' did not work with MUI 8.5 - so it seems the guide is irrelevant
Bottom line currently I am lost on what to do next . I will try the DEV ROM and see how that goes I guess .
After some reading , I am of the understanding that my Bootloader is locked ? I had purchased the phone with the official Global MUI rom installed and have only updated it with OTA official updates previously . I did not want to unlock the bootloader as my banking app (Barclays ) will not install on unlocked devices. I understand unlocking the bootloader also roots the phone .

Try flashing the phone in edl mode. I don't think it needs bootloader to be unlocked to do that.
For procedure you can refer Google
Update:
I did manage to update to MUI global 7.12.21 Beta using the Stock updater app . However this did not fix the issue , the phone still connects just with GSM and Edge Networks . I tried all of the existing configuration solutions after the update , which also did not resolve the issue .
I also contacted the Xiaomi Outlet on Aliexpress , they suggest that I unlock the bootloader , as per the email they had sent me
Thanks for telling us the troubles you met. Do not worry. We are here to help you.
Sorry to tell you, the phone you ordered has out of the 6 months free repair warranty.
Please try the suggestions below to try to fix the problem by yourself.
1. pls do Reset of the APN in Settings-Mobile Network-Choose the SIM card-Access Point Names-Reset to default
2. Reset the phone (Please copy your data before you doing this step)
3 download the Develop ROM of your cellphone from http://en.miui.com/download.html, and then transfer this ROM pack the folder ‘downloaded_rom’, then go to Updater APP click the button on the right top corner then choose option “Choose Update Package”, click the develop ROM you just download and wait for the system update succeed
4. If the 2 suggestions above can’t fix the problem, please unlock the phone and then flash it.

My gut feeling is that this is a hardware issue , it seems as though the radio reciever has burned out . I have already flashed with the native app . Is it worth trying to unlock the bootloader and reflash another rom ?
I dont want to waste any more time on this , any suggestions or thoughts on this are appreciated
So the reseller is asking me to unlock the phone though the Mii Unlock App , then flash it .
How can this make the 4G radio come to life ?

If you really feel it's a hardware issue, then it's recommended to claim the warranty or replace. I'd suggest you not to go with bootloader unlocking at this stage

Hello
OK I made some progress , I changed the sim Card to an O2 Network Sim which works perfectly . I had tried exhausted all other practicable solution given including the above . This doesn't explain why the phone stopped working with all EE network providers ( tried Virgin , EE, Plusnet ) .
http://en.miui.com/thread-1429676-1-1.html
How can I find out which bands a sim card provider is using ( Live Information ) . I have tried to research this but bands have changed over the years , so not sure which provider is using which band . I wanted to determine which bands the phone will currently work on .

I think it's the sim that is locked rather than phone, if you insert this sim in other phone it will ask for pin as well, if you are not sure what's the pin for the sim then your service provider can help you.
