Hello xda! I got my BlackBerry PRIV yesterday and I am loving it. However, I noticed that, whenever I am on cellular data, I cannot use the Internet at all. Any application that I try to use that needs Internet will just tell me that there is no network, when I have full bars of 4g lte. My cell provider is Mint Mobile BTW. Is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance! WiFi and everything else is fine. I can make calls and texts, but I get no Internet while on cellular data.
I have the same issue with with blackberry Priv, anyone have a solution to this???

Hello all I have a HTC/Fuze (Raphael) with AT&T and can access the web just fine. I however did not get a data plan on the the phone..just an unlimited text to talk family plan. This is an offered plan in case you do not want a data plan. My question is how can you tell if you are using your wifi to access the internet and not the att network. I don't want to be charged for using the internet (since i have no data plan)...I went to the att store yesterday and they told me I can still get charged for using their network to access the net even though I have no data plan... can anyone help me with this question?

you need to use the HTC data connection application. you should be able to totally disallow any internet connection.
I am using an Orbit 2 on O2 UK, when wifi is connected it will only use it until disconnected or out of range, then reverts back to 3G.
You will know when it reverts back because the speed of the internet will slow significantly.
I completely disable/delete the medianet and AT&T ISP profiles so that it doesn't ever connect over 3G.
I have the same setup as you (but with a Tilt, no data plan). Download Modaco No Data cab, install and disable the ISP (the first option). This will turn off data usage but still allow you to send and recieve text and MMS.
Hey, so I just got my Xperia X10i, and I don't have a data plan.
I live in the USA, have a T Mobile family plan, with text messaging, I am not going to buy a data plan since I plan on using my college's wi-fi networking.
However, is there a way to disable the data so I don't get charged and still get text messages?
please don't tell me to check the forum as I already have, and I've found some things but they're not very clear.
So if anyone else who is in the same situation as me please help.

Disable the MMS & Data connection in settings.
Call Tmobile, ask them if they can disable data usage for your line.
Download an app like apndroid
If I'm on WiFi, will MMS use my data plan or wifi?
MMS goes through your texting plan on AT&T. It doesn't count as data usage.

So it uses no data at all? Then why does it require data to send mms?
You don't need a data plan to send an MMS, but it needs a data connection to send the information because it still routes it over the 3G connection.
Because of the way it routes the MMS as opposed to regular web traffic, they track it and don't bill you for data usage even though it uses the data connection.
That's how it is with AT&T on a locked phone, but I don't know about other carriers or if you are using an unlocked device.

Yea and T-mobile supports wi-fi calling as well and At&t Does not.
Pretty sure it has to be a T-Mobile Device With Wi-Fi calling option in order for that o work...could be wrong though.

I cannot get the phone to connect to any mobile datta. 2G, 3G and 4G. I am on EE UK.
I have checked my APN and this seems correct. I am getting a phone signal and can make incoming and outgoing calls.
Wi-fi works fully.
I have installed CM11 Nightly the latest one I only got the phone yesterday. I have restored my original backup and still no luck.
EE technical said everything is fine on my account.

Hello 2 all, my mom just received a gift from USA, an Samsung S5 from Verizon. She can use it on Europe, network gsm is working. Still, she cannot use internet on it, i tryed to set up APN manualy, everything is fine, but when i connect to our network Orange, the H sign is there but look like no internet connectivity. Phone cannot connect to internet. I tryed to pun only on GSM and not CDMA, nothing, still no internet connectivity.
Is any way to use this phone in Europe with internet on?
