Advice needed for taking photos please :) - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has taken photos of a waterfall with the Samsung s7 edge so that the water is silky and smooth looking? I've been reading up stuff on the Internet and based on what I read, went to take a photo and it came out all yellow and overexposed. I had the ISO setting to low and the shutter speed up to 10 seconds (it won't go higher than that from what I can see). Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Do any of the other settings in pro mode need to be readjusted?I'm going away soon and know there will be waterfalls and I really would love to master this type of photo. I'm a total newbie to trying to take photos like this other than using Auto mode, so please be gentle Thank you for anyone that takes the time to read or reply to this.

when i was looking for s7e oreo 8.0 stock camera app to flash it on my phone (with no luck so far ;( ) ; I've came across amazing google camera apk port for s7e please
check it out just google it since i can't post external links , i hope you're going to like it.
No Front facing camera though , but since your asking for landscape photography you won't need it any ways , enjoy

Blank Pics From Camera

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this - when I take pictures sometimes, they are all blank - i.e. just a grey canvas.
It only seems to happen in bright outdoor conditions...
Cheers,
Smiffy.
Yes that used to happen to me when running black 2.5 but it didnt matter if i was outside or inside the camera would just not take a picture and it would be a blank black/grey if you look close when you take a picture that works it takes a second or two to load up and be put into the memory with the blank ones they load up right away almost like the hermes is not storing the info of the picture properly
i had this happen a couple of times too, usually restart and its fine.
This occurred on my device when using the 2mb pixel size(the largest) with a deep field of focus...like outdoor pictures. I fixed it permanently by installing the latest firmware/os from my provider---cingular. Your mileage may vary.
As long as it's not hardware, I don't mind
I'd hate to have to try and convince the guys in the shop that yes really, t-mobile have released a WM6 ROM and it's official and still under warranty ;-)

I had the same problem. I think it was comin' from an RSS software. It happened even after a soft reset.
After removing the software, it happens once a long time. Which is ok, just close the camera and start it again, it'll work if not.. poke it on the underside, u know which hole
It's the Super Fine setting on the camera that does this in bright outdoor conditions.
Switch to a different quality level and I bet it won't happen again.
Hi,
I experienced it too, but I catch the issue, because my camera said that my memory was full... but it isnĀ“t full. I just closed all apps but camera and it magically started to take good pics again using 2M resolution and super fine quality.

Taguapire.

Inaccurate auto focus...

Not sure if anybody else has noticed this, but I find the auto focus on the SGS II sometimes hit and miss.
To try it out, go to your camera and put it in macro mode. Get close-ish to something, and I find it either:
- adjusts focus incorrectly but gives me the green focus box, despite the image being blurred.
- tries to focus correctly, I see the image go sharp (in focus) however the camera does not recognise this and continues trying to focus before eventually giving up and giving me the red non-focused box.
I think it's just the software limits saying how close to something it can focus on, but I've also had a couple of dodgy focus' on normal photos too.
Dude, first do a search. I opened a thread a couple of days ago which was the first thread about focus problems. Now all of the sudden several threads about this topic are floating all over this place.
Please refer to this thread if you have any troubles with focussing:

Sorry, did a search but somehow didn't see your thread!
Mods may as well delete this thread!

Huge problem with samsung focus

i just bought a used samsung focus. It is working perfectly except for 2 things.
1) Camera is very bad, no pictures come out well and its not very good
2) The proximity Sensor is not working, i have looked at the service menu for the samsung focus and the box is always red and no number is ever showing (reg shows 0)
ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED, im panicking and very sad
Also, i was wondering is there a way to completely reset the phone, and redownload and install the operating system. maybe the software is busted?
Try one of these ROM's to re-flash the phone.

yeh id do as fido said ad relash, sounds like someone gave you a toasted phone or did something to it, because honestly the focus phone cam is the best i've ever had.
I thought it took crappy photos too, until I discovered if you half-press the shutter button then it allows the phone to focus better (and in dark situations it uses a filler-flash so it gets a clearer pic with less of the flash white wash). Since then I've gotten some great photos, even had one used in a newspaper!

Note 4 Image (photos) problem

Hello , I have only just signed up here today, so i apologise in advance if i have posted in the wrong area.
I have a sim free samsung galaxy note 4 sm-n910f, running android 5.1.1, unrooted as i dont understand the process nor benefits, im happy with the phone as it is bar one problem.
all updates are upto date from samsung and play store.
Never had any problems with the phone since i bought it, but recently encountered small annoying problem i am unable to solve, despite looking long and hard for a fix.
When i use social media on my phone, and look at any photo/image, i ouch the image to see it larger, which works fine, but whenever i try to zoom into a certain point on any given photo, the photo snaps shut.
i used to be able to zoom into any give photo, and be able to drag around to stay zoomed at the same zoom level.
This proving to be a pain to me as i am severely partially sighted, and find the note 4 to be a great device for my needs otherwise, with the large screen.
Is anyone able to help me with a little basic advice please? its ruining my viewing experiences

Strange Stripes on Front Camera?

I recently updated my S7 edge to 7.0 nougat, and while on Snapchat I noticed something that's never happened before. I often snap my friends late at night in low-light settings, and I've noticed that my front camera has these horrific vertical stripes that faintly cover every picture now. They look like old-style scanlines and move around like them in-app too.
At first they were only in low-light, and and only on Snapchat as far as I thought. But now I've realized they're constantly there, even in the camera app, just barely visible in proper lighting.
I'm not sure if this is some new software bug, and if there's anything I can do about it, but it's very unsightly and almost seems like it's getting worse over time. This phone has had a camera failure before, but it was a long time ago, and I feel like it isn't connected to this new problem.
Any info at all would be greatly appreciated!
(I previously posted this to the S7 forum, but realize now that the S7 edge has its own forum).
Unplug from charger and make a photo again. I had this when the phone was charging...

Click to collapse
That is absolutely ridiculous... but it worked! Thank you! My next question is if there's any way at all to fix this, or am I forever stuck with this awkward problem?
I see now this issue automagically gone in DQC3 march firmware update. It's ok now when charging.
