GPS quality and accuracy - Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom Questions & Answers

Hello all,
a friend of mine will soon receive the ZE553KL and she's a bit concerned about the GPS quality. Having A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS i assume it is pretty accurate. A search in the forum didnt return any results about the overall accuracy so i thought i ask here.
Thanks!

I've had no issues with the GPS personally - I use Runkeeper and Android Auto (on-phone) quite often and it's always just worked fine.

What settings for camera ?

Had my Exec for a week now. Love it
Wondered what settings you guys use for camera as the results I am getting are very poor.
Similar to what I got from my I-mate Jam before they released the camers patch.Do you think it is a hardware issue or software ?
Cheers
Paul
My camera is about a billion times better than my Jam was, and I haven't changed my JJ's default settings. I assume the Exec will be the same defaults....
Contrast: 5
Brightness: 4
Saturation: 4
Hue: 5
Sharpness: 5
I have tried changing all the default settings ,get little or generally no improvement.
This is exactlly the same problem I had with the Jam until it was patched !!
I'm afraid I'm at a loss, like I say my JasJar photos are extremely good compared to my old Jam, even after the Jam had the updated software installed.
Maybe it is a hardware issue you have? Can anyone else back me up here? Or are other people finding that their pictures are of poor quality, too?
I'll try and find something decent to take a test photo of to compare, but I'm in the office at the moment, which is very uninspiring!
Since my JJ is my first PDA with a camera it's hard for me to compare and certainly it's not fair to compare it to my digital camera. I will say though that I've been pleasantly surprised by the quality and believe now that I'll use the camera more than I originally thought I might.
If the JJ had also been offered with a non-camera version I likely would have bought that one, but now I'm glad that I didn't have that choice. It's nice having a camera available any time without carrying around another piece of equipment.
As for settings, I haven't done a lot of playing around with them but I have noticed that to take just about anything indoors the general "night" setting works best for me. The others just seem to grainy. (Of course maybe I just need more light in my house!) Without any other tweaking though, "night" ends up working as an indoor setting.

About to buy this phone. Need Help ASAP.

Hey, I heard good reviews about this phone.
I'm about to commit to it and read that its good as a PPC.
But i almost forgot the most important part. How is this device as a Phone?
Also I heard this phone does have GPS but needs an external attennae. True?
Oh also hows the camera? I'l be playing around with it a lot.
Hows video?
Macro shots?
LandscapeShots?
As a phone, not bad, but remember a multifunction device doesn't do any job perfectly. However, the upgrade to WM6 is a definite improvement to the dialer & phone functions. You'll need to do some reading on the Wiki and use MrVanx's guides... MS VC1.6 works pretty well with a few hacks and modifications, pretty simple to do.
Yes it needs an external GPS, BT or USB (there is also an external jack for an antannae, but...)
Camera is pretty good in WELL lit situations, poor in other situations. The video is pretty decent given the above limitations.
I'm pretty happy with it, the camera is not so good for photos, video recording is quite good, if you search a little you'll find some videos taken with it on youtube.
It doesn't have a built-in GPS, if you need one, you'll need to buy a bluetooth device for it.
It's a very good PPC.
The calls are very clear, strong signal, good speaker (this is my case, I heard about people complaining about call quality)
Hope it helps.

g sensor not accurate enough for google sky maps?

Hi,
is anybody using google skymaps with his nexus 4? i like the app and used it regularly on my HTC desire and my Sony ARC s without any problems.
but it looks like the g sensor in the nexus 4 is not accurate enough to allow smooth and precise tracking. i noticed that when i installed skymaps on my nexus in december, but i thought it was a hardware problem and waited until now for a RAM. but with the new phone its the SAME ****!!!
here is a video were you can see the noisy g sensor output, and the resulting jittery skymaps tracking:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4EZ7W7vLc0&feature=youtu.be
that cant be an accident, am i really that lucky? and no, they didnt send me the same device, i have them both at my table.
Behavior is identical on my Nexus 7. Are you sure this isn't a software issue with the current version?
My friend uses my old desire, and he also has the newest version of skymap, works flawless.
well not flawless, it jitters a bit too, but there are none of these big jumps that make it impossible to identify an object.
I'm not seeing it as being that bad. If I hold the phone steady, the sky is steady and objects are easy to identify.
I do think the software should do a better job of buffering the sensor data and smoothing out the tracking.

[Q] "Only GPS" vs. "High Accurency"

Hi there,
Got a little question for my S3 Neo:
Why do i get a faster GPS-Fix with the GPS-Mode "Only GPS" than with the mode "High Accurency"?
I just want to know if there's a technical answer to this question or if my S3 does some magic stuff.
thanks,
Maxi

gps only uses just gps sensor and high accuracy uses gps sensor as well as internet location. simply if u are in outdoor place gps only in best but for indoor high accuracy is better..

Using VR Headset with the P8 Lite

So i got this 10$ VR Headset (similar to google cardboard) to use with my phone for some entry level VR experience. I have also enabled the virtual gyroscope on the device. However, the experience is very shaky. Can i do anything to improve the accuracy of the gyroscope? Thanks in advance.
P.S : I know 720p display is not good for VR but i have no problem regarding the resolution. That shaky experience makes me dizzy very quick (about 10 minutes) and i can barely select anything by gazing.

Not much but again that is not what i am asking here. I know it is a virtual gyroscope, however some searching showed that many phones with virtual gyrscope get flashable zips to improve the stability (many motorolas being in that list). I know that virtual gyroscope gets as precise as virtual can be, but i asked if i was missing anything regarding that. Thanks for answering and sorry for the late reply, was on vacation.
