After the latest OTA update, I'm getting a corrupt SD card error. How can I fix it? I can't access my music.
what happens when you put it external to a pc?
Also were you forcing any apps to run on external

I don't know when did this started happening actually, I flashed a number of roms in the past couple of days, but I can't get rid of this stupid notification and its really driving me crazy!
When I mount my SD card so I can transfer files from PC and the unmount I get the error "Damaged SD Card - SD card damaged you may have to reformat it"
The thing is reformatting does not solve it, and when I have this notification nothing that accesses the card works (music, photos, astro..)
I tried reflashing my rom again which made the error go away for a while but after some mount-unmount I have it again!
I have a non-branded HTC magic (32A) with Cyanogen 4.2.3 and Enoch theme and RA's recovery image and NO apps2sd
Any help?
Thanks
fixed it
Okay I got it to go away, I formatted from the recovery menu (fat32 only)
and I turned off the swap file and uninstalled the swapper app.
No problems so far!
i've found that rebooting the phone makes the sd card damaged error message go away
and that rebooting my pc actually solved the problem of the pc not seeing the sdcard
but that may just be temporary, i dont know
Strange SD Card!
When I mounted my SD Card I was receiving an error and was asked to Scan or Continue. I chose scan and then it looks like it mounted fine. I can view all the folders and files but if I try to copy any files to the card or try to create a folder I get an error saying the Drive is not available and it is no longer mounted. I put the card in a card reader and I received the Scan option again and I scanned it to fix any errors but it doesn't find any. I then can copy, delete and modify anything on the card. I put the card back in the phone and mount the card. No issues until I try to copy, delete or modify and it unmounts and will not work. I have the original T-Mobile Rom and I have not rooted it.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
The problem started a few weeks ago, and I can't remember if it's related to any update I might have done.
I first noticed there was a problem when the camera app couldn't save my pictures/videos to the SD card and reverted to using internal memory. Then I started having issues with some applications who wouldn't update claiming they were unable to install to USB storage or SD card. I was able to circumvent that by temporary unmounting the card then performing the update.
It's when I tried to copy some media onto the card from my computer that I realized I no longer had writing privilege on the card. I popeed it out and added the files without any issue from a microSD card reader so at least I knew the card was OK. After a little bit of fiddling, I was able re re-mount the card as read-write when trying to write on it from within Total Commander. It offered to remount as read-write and I said yes. Problem is, it stays that way for a little while and a few hours later, I can no longer write anything on the card, again.
Does anyone knows how to permanently fix this issue?
I'm currently using stock Samsung firmware build number JDQ39.I337MVLUAMG1 and the phone is rooted.
If you take it out and put on your (Windows) PC, how does it perform?
If you have Windows, does a scan disk report anything wrong?
I could read and write to the card without any issue from Windows when using it through an USB reader.
Scanning the card found a bunch of file system errors. Once corrected, the card mounted back correctly on the phone.
Thanks for the tip!
every time an app updates from the play store, it gets stored back onto the phone's internal storage instead of the sd card where it was stored before, is there an app or way to prevent this problem? So I dont have to keep on transferring these updated apps back to my sd card every time they update
Hello,
I have a problem with external memory (MicroSD). For some time now I see that my memory card is automatically unmounted from time to time. What's more interesting, Android claims that the card is not inserted at all (I can not install it myself). After some time, the memory card mounts itself again. Often, I need to use files from the card, and it is unmounted. Oddly, in the TWRP recovery mode, the memory card is also not visible and I can not mount it myself. I tried to connect another memory card, but it does not detect another card. It just unmounts it all the time, and after some time it mounts, then again the same thing happens again and again. I am asking for help, I do not know what to do: /
Mounting via USB is correct.

Hello.
Recently updated to Android 9 OTA and removed MicroSD card to backup files on PC. The handset doesn't work with MicroSd cards since then Tried different cards, formatting them exFAT on PC. The built in android formatting tool doesn't work. Starts at 20% and stays that way. When it says done it goes back to saying that SD card needs formatting. Any suggestions?

It maybe the card or the card reader. Have you can format the SD card on your computer? If it worked then it's probably the reader. You be could try vold magisk module but honestly it's probably a hardware failure rather than software issue. Maybe try to get compressed air to clean out the reader. Only other thing you could try is install the update again... Could have been install issue. So try the install again. One last thing here if the card works on computer you can use ADB push to push the apps or data onto the phone. All the info for any of this is available with a search please try to use next time it if you didn't this time. For all but ADB walkthrough just read top ten in this guide area.
