These sensors are essential for the phone to work properly and they are mostly located near CPU or on the CPU itself. I suggest you should send it to warranty.

I have tried charge it via usb and regular charger but not working, when i checked the temperature it says 67 degrees, which is a lie cos its not hot at all..So i believe the sensor is broken. Is there a software trick to alter or widen those values to charge the phone cos there is not a security issue?? And where is that bloody sensor on the card i cannot figure it out.... Thank you very much...
I don't think there is any way to test Temperature sensor. So you probably have to go to Service Center.
Other sensor tests can be checked by *#0*# though.
Regards.
it sounds like you should return your phone and get it repaired...
I cannot sent it back to have it repaired cos i have changed its display which was broken, so i need to find a way to alter those charging overheat protection values...
Well if you have a phone with no warranty you have limited choice .
One factory reset that fails flash Samsung stock rom firmware via Odin .
That will rule out faulty software .

am i not clear or i dont know.. Guys temperature sensor thinks that battery is burning at 67 degrees but it is not.......so if i factoru reset it what will change????
sensor is still broken, what i need is somehow disable its overheat protection...
At least you should reset the phone by turning off and removing the battery for a while, it could be something temporarily wrong with the communication between the sensor and the cpu.
have u tried a different battery?

You claim its the temp sensor do you have proof its hardware fault not software fault Putting clean firmware on the phone rules out software /firmware problem but its up to you to go that route or not .

i have tried literally 6 different firmwares and all said 67 degrees and i have left the battery out for almost a day its still the same...
I also have tried a different battery and again it did not charge...But there must be a trick for this, cos the protection, i think, is by software, and therefore, there must be a way to change those values to enable the phone to charge at "67 degrees"...
any solution on this problem?
i have exactly same problem. if you just have the schematics that shows which one is the temp sensor would be great.
I also have the same exact problem. Found this post on google. My temperature sensor shows:
67 Degree on idle
-7 Degree when I attach the Samsung earphones
Below 60 while I'm charging (I would have to stick the cable twice for the charging to work)
Still trying to figure out the issue. Something I have also is that during music playback, left earpiece barely releases any sound. Don't know if its related to circuitry found in the sound jack.
i had this problem a few days ago..
but it just dissapeared after rebooting it think, geuss i was lucky or something
The same problem with a Xperia X8
In my case, my phone drop in water and after a hour of dry the battery sensor going crazy. All functions of the phone works well but the battery sensor start to show elevated temperatures and minutes later extreme low number. After a month the values stop in more than 60c and since then I can't get charge (becouse the policy of the phone to not charge when the battery is hot).
I dont know is the battery but Im sure is not in the battery itself.
The tecnical support of my phone provider (where bought the phone) reject the cell because they are not sure if the changes the will made will be repair the phone. This is because after the accident the garantee is off and if they can't repare the phone don't want be responsible if return my phone worse than the start.
So, my only choise is buy a new ugly phone, wait 4 months to the contract ends and buy a new decent phone with a 12 months plan or... repair my broken phone.
I think if recompile the nAa kernel (my actual kernel) with some changes like hardcode the temp of the battery and install in my phone this will works.
Really I don't know if this is a kernel stuff. I hope, but is this is the case... I never compile a kernel before. I use linux everyday but never mess with the kernel.
issue
maybe its an issue, you should send it to technical support
hi. my dad has a lg optimus l5 ii dual e455. recently i recognized that the phone takes a lot of time to fully charge. i checked with cpu spy app and it shows that the phone consumes max cpu at 1001 and doesn't go to deepsleep. the phone is not rooted and it has stock 4.1 rom of LG. also i checked the phone while not charging and it goes to deepsleep very well. can anyone help me and give me any idea to solve the problem. the wifi gps data and all these such things are off. i can not recognize what app makes the phone consume the cpu while charging. i know there is an app named betterbatterystats that shows partial wakelock but it needs root and i want to solve the problem without rooting. if anyone has any idea please help me. thanks

any new apps have been installed recently ?
does it have same problem if
1 you switch the phone off and then charge(does it get hot) ?
2 you plug into pc in lg mode ?
Autostarts this app will tell you what switches on at the time of any given event (Power Connected / boot / wifi on etc ..)
Hi all,
i bought a refurbished lg g2, (big mistake) :crying:
i had troubles with charging it (original charger)
battery level wont rise , and if i i close the phone when its in that state it wont open in any chance.
used a app called AMPER to check the current and found out that it thinks that the battery is @ -30 degrees.
does any one know where is the temp sensor , do u think replacing battery can help?
is there any way to cancel the low temp protection which prevent it to turn on?
I would definitely replace the battery. Sounds like it's busted
Not sure where temp sensor is..perhaps on the logic board itself?
I am using g4 plus for few months. After the latest software updtion my g4 plus gets turned off automatically during incoming calls. Some one plz help me to fix this.. thanks in advnce..
moto g4 reboot after software update
if you experience this you may go to settings and search for default app then click on the phone and click and select the app as phone then your device will stop showing this errors thanks
If nothing helps, try factory resetting you device. In most cases it should be the shortcut solution else you might need to visit the service center.

Many people have the same issue with G4 or G4 plus when the battery is below a certain level. GPS usage also causes it, as well as receiving messages.
I heard when people sent phones in for warranty they got them back with a factory reset and no real fix.
I have tried every software / reset procedure suggested, nothing has worked. I think the only solution is to replace the battery, which will void your warranty.
Update: I used a battery draining app and the and then fully charged the phone. I have not had the phone turn off on texts or calls with battery below 50% since. I did a brief GPS Maps while in motion test and it hasn't turned off either.
So, drain the battery fully, then fully charge.
I'll keep you posted if problem reappears.
Another update: after using the fast charger for 4 nights, I had another shutdown at less than 50% battery while turning on wi-fi. Turning back on revealed empty battery. So I think it's the fast charger, and another drain-recharge will be required.
Random (or not so random?) shutdown
I too have similar problem of random shutdown, but mine i noticed is related to temperature difference (generally happens in hot temperature in sunlight or in cold temperature in AC).
Now in latest nougat stock rom(rooted with magisk and elemental x kernel).
Daily in the morning (after being in AC the whole night) when i turn on the WIFI it shuts down. But if I wait for some time for the temperature to get normal, it doesn't shuts down.
This (screenshot)is right after that shutdown, when i booted. Cpu temperature is very high.
@febinfns did u find any solution having same issue and i also noticed only happens when device is hot
moto g4 plus
try to reset the setting if problem to solved you should go to serice station of motorola
Did anyone find a solution to think problem? It's still happening.
I been using this lg v20 for almost 3 years, and this is my only problem it gave me after those years.
Sorry for my bad english
My lg v20 had this problem just recently... Every time i unplug it from the charger it freeze if it doesnt its so laggy you cant even do anything like navigating to settings or so on... But when i plug the charger it turns back to normal... What could be the problem? ... I was thinking it was just the battery but the other one i used is just almost a week even the original battery can still last a day normal use without gaming... Is there any case out there like mine? Does it have a fix?
Btw im running los 16 + gamma v15 f800s kv
Thanks in advance
Try cleaning the USB port?
My wife's us996 had an issue and cleaning the port fixed it:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/help/absolutely-terrible-battery-life-t3531456/post78654160
Itried cleaning but no luck
It turns out that when my phone starting to heat up its lags but when I plug the charger it turns back to normal... And also I notice there are some flickering on the screen specially on the 2nd screen
Well, to rule out a hardware issue, I would go back to a stock rom and give it a week or two to see if your issue still exists. If the issue is still there with stock, there's definitely a hardware issue, battery or otherwise.
Have you tried a battery monitoring app, like Gsam, Better battery stats, or accubattery? That could give you a clue on what's running/causing the heat issue.
I'm using accubattery and it seems there's no problem at all. My phone won't heat up unexpectedly thou but every time I play games or even doing intensive tasks that's where the problem kicks in. I also noticed while I'm tweaking at kernel auditor the CPU temp is 78c but the phone isn't that hot. Im thinking the thermal paste isn't doing its job and maybe causing the problem
